This study analyzed on characteristics of the ground-water capture zone in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area according to pumping rate. For this study, it targeted Jejudo island where is the volcanic island. To analyze, MODFLOW model and MODPATH model, which are the ground-water flow analysis models, were used. As a result of research, the following conclusions could be obtained. As a result of analyzing influence of a change in pumping time upon length of capture zone, the length of capture zone in coastal area was indicated to be greater in the changing ratio compared to the length of capture zone in mid-mountainous area. Next, in the coastal area, the pumping rate and the capture-zone length are changing similarly. However, in mid-mountainous area, the length of capture zone was indicated to grow when the pumping rate comes to exceed 1,500m3/day. As a result of analyzing influence of a change in pumping time upon capture area, the tendency of a change in the area was indicated similarly in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area. Especially, it could be known that the larger pumping rate leads to the more definite increase in tendency to a change in capture area. Based on this study, it was allowed to be possibly used in the suitable pumping rate in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area of the volcano island in the future. A follow-up research is judged to necessarily analyze the influence of tubular-well group upon capture zone by additionally analyzing a change in capture zone targeting the concentrated tubular well.

Under the power-based capture model, a transmission is successfully received at the destination, even in the presence of other transmissions and background noise, if the received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio exceeds a capture threshold. We evaluate the spectral efficiency of simple multi-user channels by combining the basic capture model with a communication-theoretic model. The result is a more refined capture model that incorporates key system design parameters (such as achievable bit rate, target bit error rate, channel bandwidth, and modulation signal constellations) that are absent from the basic capture model. The relationships among these parameters can serve as a tool for optimizing the network performance.

High gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) is the most commonly used magnetic cell separation technique in biomedical science. However, parameters determining target cell capture efficiencies in HGMS are still not well understood. This limitation leads to loss of information and resources. The present study develops a bead-capture theory to predict capture efficiencies in HGMS. The theory is tested with CD3- and CD14-positive cells in combination with paramagnetic beads of different sizes and a generic immunomagnetic separation system. Data depict a linear relationship between normalized capture efficiency and the bead concentration. In addition, it is shown that key biological functions of target cells are not affected for all bead sizes and concentrations used. In summary, linear bead-capture theory predicts capture efficiency ($E_t$) in a highly significant manner.
The IMO has decided to proceed with the early introduction of EEDI Phase 3, a CO2 emission regulation to prevent global warming. Measures to reduce CO2 emissions for ships that can be applied immediately are required to achieve CO2 reduction. We set six different CO2 emission scenarios according to the type of ship and fuel, and designed a monoethanolamine-based CO2 capture process for ships using a rate-based model of Aspen Plus v10. The simulation model using Aspen Plus was validated using pilot plant operation data. A ship inevitably tilts during operation, and the performance of a tilted column decreases as its height increases. When configuring the conventional CO2 capture process, we considered that the required column heights were so high that performance degradation was unavoidable when the process was implemented on a ship. We applied a parallel column concept to lower the column height and to enable easy installation and operation on a ship. Simulations of the parallel column confirmed that the required column height was lowered to less than 3 TEU (7.8 m).

For the traditional ALOHA system without capture, the Markov chain obtained using the number of backlogged users at each slot if shown to be non-ergodic. So the infinite population ALOHA with fixed retransmission probabilities is unstable for any choice of the arrival rates and retransmission probabilities. The capture ALOHA system of also shown to be unstable for any arrival rate unless it has perfect. In this paper, we study a stabilization policy for capture ALOHA system that controls the retransmission probabilities and prove the stability of its multidimensional Markovian model by empolying a continuous Lyapunov function, and thus identify the stability region. We also study a delay performance through computer simulation th show the stability for any input rate below the maximum achievable channel throughput.

Estimations on population ecological parameters of the small yellow croaker, Larimichthy polyactis in Korean waters, were calculated using catch data based on coastal and offshore drift gillnet fishery and biological data from 2010 to 2012. The population ecological parameters included survival rate, instantaneous coefficient of natural and fishing mortality and age/length at first capture. The survival rate (S) of the small yellow croaker was estimated to be 0.20 from catch curve method. The instantaneous coefficient of natural mortality (M) was estimated to be 0.46/year with Alverson and Carney method. The instantaneous coefficient of total mortality (Z) was 1.611/year, used to be transformed the survival rate and the instantaneous coefficient of fishing mortality (F) were 1.153/year. The length at first capture ($L_c$) was 19.1cm by Pauly method, and the age at first capture ($t_c$) was 1.303 years of the small yellow croaker by the coastal and offshore drift gillnet fishery.

Background: Under-ascertainment and over-ascertainment are common phenomena in surveillance and registry systems of health-related events. Capture-recapture is one of the methods which is applied to determine the sensitivity of surveillance or registry systems to recognize cancer cases. This study aimed to estimate the number of cancers using data available both in the Cancer Registry Center of Northwestern Iran and in the Population-based Cancer Registry Center of Iran. Material and Methods: The studied population consisted of all cancerous cases in the northwest of Iran from 2008 to 2010. All data were extracted from two resources and entered into Microsoft Excel software. After removing common and repeat cases the data were statistically analyzed using a capture-recapture studies' specific software "CARE 1.4". Estimations were calculated by Chapman and Petersen methods with the approximate confidence interval of 95%. Results: From 2008 to 2010, the number of all cancer cases was estimated to be 21,652 (CI 95%: 19,863-22,101). Sensitivity rate of all cancer cases was 83.9% and that of Population-based Cancer Registry Center of Iran was 52%. It was 93.1% considering both resources. Conclusion: Using two resources and the capture-recapture method rather than a single resource may be a more reliable method to estimate the number of cancer cases.
In boundary scan architecture, test stimuli are shifted in one at a time and applied to the on-chip system logic. The test results are captured into the BSR and are examined by subsequent shifting. In this paper, we developed a continuous capture test architecture and test procedure using TPG based on boundary scan is used to performance test. In this architecture, test patterns of TPG are applied to CUT with system clock rate, and response of CUT is continuously captured by CBSR(Continuous Capture Boundary Scan Register) at the same rate and the captured results is shifted to TDO at the same rate. The suggested a continuous capture test architecture and test procedure is simulated by Altera Max+Plus 10.0. The simulation results shows the accurate operation and effectiveness of the proposed test architecture and procedure.
Objectives : The purpose of this paper is to estimate the completeness of the Korean Medical Insurance Data in childhood asthma. Methods : Capture-recapture method was used to estimate the prevalence of childhood asthma and case ascertainment rate(completeness) of Korean Medical Insurance Data using two source model, 'Korean Medical Insurance Committee Data (KMICD)' and 'Nationwide Study of Asthma and Allergies in Korean Children'. The asthma cases were restricted to those who were born from 1981 to 1989 and were identified by their Resident Register Number. Asthma cases in Korean Medical Insurance Data were defined as cases coded by ICD-9 493 and ICD-10 J45. In 'Nationwide Study of Asthma and Allergies in Korean Children', asthma cases were defined as the children who had been diagnosed asthma and had experienced symptoms of asthma during the past 12 months. The defined cases in two data sources were matched by 13 digits Resident Register Number. The numbers of matched patients in two data sources were 245 of 32,825 eligible total subjects. Chapman and Wittes' nearly unbiased estimation was used for capture-recapture analysis of two data sources. Results : Observed prevalence rate of childhood asthma was 5.3% and estimated prevalence rate by capture-recapture analysis was 11.6%. The highest prevalence rate was observed in 6-7 age group and the older the rate decreased. The completeness (the proportion of cases ascertained by KMICD to the total observed cases by two data sources) was 20.6%, and ranged form 10.8% to 28.8% by area. Conclusions : Invalid diagnosis of cases might overestimate the prevalence of child-hood asthma and might underestimate the completeness of Korean Medical Insurance Committee Data in this study.

Various methods are known for preparing liposomes, the simplest being the Bangham method which has been widely used. Although it is possible to produce liposomes effectively on a small experimental level with this approach, large-scale production cannot be easily performed due to difficulties in removing the organic solvent and the size of the reactor required to form the lipid film. On the other hand, emulsion can mass produce tons of liposomes with uniform particles but has the disadvantage of a significantly low capture rate. This study therefore developed an optimal liposome processing method using heat with improved capture rate and stability, and bio-absorption experiments were performed by oral administration to SD rat alongside capture rate, particle size, and zeta potential. Through the heating method, a small and uniform liposome of about 214 nm was formed and the capture rate was 38.67%, confirming that the liposome prepared by heating has a higher capture rate than the 26.46% achieved through emulsion. Comparing blood concentrations, it showed a 1.5 to 2 fold increase in all groups, gradually decreasing until 4-12 hr. The highest blood concentration of ascorbic acid powder was about 12.017 ㎍/ml, the emulsion liposome 13.871 ㎍/ml, and the heating liposome 16.322 ㎍/ml, thereby showing an improved absorption rate.
