심박 및 심박변화를 통한 최대 지방 연소 시점의 추정 (Preceding Research for Estimating the Maximal Fat Oxidation Point through Heart Rate and Heart Rate Variability)

  • Increasing the oxidation of fat through exercise is the recommendable method for weight control. Preceding researches have proposed increase in the usage of fat during exercise in stabilized state and under maximum exertion through aerobic training. However, such researches require additional equipment for gas analysis in order to measure the caloric value or gas exchange of subjects during exercise. Such equipments become highly restrictive for those exercise and cause substantially higher cost. According to this, we have presented the method of estimating the maximal fat oxidation point through changes in LF & HF which reflects changes in heart rate and the autonomic nervous system in order to induce exercise for a less restrictive and efficient fat oxidation than existing methods. We have conducted exercise stress test on subject with similar exercise abilities, and have detected the changes in heart rate and changes in LF & HF by measuring changes in fat oxidation and measuring ECG signals at the same time through a gas analyzer. Changes in heart rate and HRV of the subjects during exercising was detected through only the electrocardiographic signals from exercising and detected the point of maximum fat oxidation that differs from person to person. The experiment was carried out 16 healthy males, and used Modified Bruce Protocol, which is one of the methods of exercise stress test methods that use treadmill. The fat oxidation amount during exercise of all the subjects showed fat oxidation of more than 4Fkcal/min in the exercise intensity from about 5 minutes to 10 minutes. The correlation between the maximal fat oxidation point obtained through gas analysis and the point when 60% starts to be relevant in the range from -0.01 to 0.01 seconds for values of R-R interval from changes in heart rate had correlation coefficients of 0.855 in Kendall's method and in Spearman's rho, it showed significant results of it being p<0.01 with 0.950, respectively. Furthermore, in the changes in LF & HF, we have determined the point where the normalized area value starts to become the same as the maximal fat oxidation point, and the correlation here showed 0.620 in Kendall and 0.780 in Spearma of which both showed significant results as p<0.01.

발전용 역청탄과 저열량탄 혼소시 Tar/Soot의 배출 특성 연구 (Investigation of Tar/soot Yield of Bituminous and Low Rank Coal Blends)

  • 미분탄의 연소 또는 열분해 과정으로부터 발생하는 tar-soot는 복사 열전달 및 질소산화물의 추가적인 발생 원인이라는 관점에서 의미 있게 다루어지고 있다. 최근 저열량탄이 증가함에 따라 시멘트의 원료로 재활용되던 석탄회에서 다량의 미연분과 tar-soot가 포함되어 오히려 다시 반입되는 사례가 빈번해지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 저열량탄 사용 확대에 따른 혼탄연소 조건에서 tar-soot의 배출특성을 살펴보기 위해 반응기로써 LFR(Laminar Flow Reactor)을 적용하였으며, 연료로는 현재 국내발전소에서 사용 중인 역청탄 2종(MOUNTAIN, MACARHTUR)과 아역청탄(KPU)을 이용하여 단탄별 tar-soot 배출특성과 혼소비에 따른 배출특성을 화염의 구조 변화와 함께 측정하였다. 휘발분이 많은 아역청탄의 soot cloud 길이는 역청탄에 비해 길었지만 전체적인 화염 길이는 짧아졌다. 단탄별 실험결과에서는 역청탄의 tar-soot 발생량이 아역청탄의 발생률보다 높았으며 역청탄 중 휘발분 함량이 많은 MOUNTAIN탄이 상대적으로 휘발분 함량이 적은 MACARHTUR탄의 tar-soot 발생률보다 높았다. 혼소시에는 단탄의 연소특성과는 다른 새로운 특성을 나타내었으며 저열량탄과 혼소되는 역 청탄의 종에 따라 tar-soot 발생량이 지배되는 것을 확인하였으나 혼소비에 따른 평균적 특성이 아닌 완전히 차별되는 배출특성을 나타냄에 따라 석탄의 등급에 따라 최적의 혼소비를 찾아서 연소시키는 것이 tar-soot 발생량을 줄일 수 있는 방법임을 의미한다.

일부대학생의 생활습관과 골밀도의 관계 (The relation between a practical life and a bone mineral density for college students)

  • 청소년기에 형성된 골밀도는 25세에서 35세 전후로 최고치가 되며, 형성된 골밀도는 중년기와 노년기에 감소된다. 골밀도 감소는 골다공증의 발생과 골절 위험성 증가 등을 유발하여 사회적인 건강문제로 대두되고 있다. 골다공증은 사전 예방이 매우 중요하며, 골밀도가 감소되는 중년기 이후보다 골밀도가 형성되고 최고로 발달되는 시기인 청년기에 적극적인 관리와 예방이 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 대학생의 골밀도 상태와 생활습관 및 신체활동과의 관계를 파악하여 골밀도 향상을 위한 자료 개발에 도움이 되는 시사점을 도출하고자 일부 대학생 119명을 대상으로 골밀도 측정과 생활습관에 대한 설문을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 대상자의 일반적 골밀도 상태는 정상 88명(73.9%), 골감소증 29명(24.4%), 골다공증 2명(1.7%)으로 정상이 가장 높게 나타났으나 골감소증도 다소 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 성별에 따른 생활습관과의 관계에서는 음주 경험, 흡연경험, 운동 경험이 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 음주경험, 흡연경험, 운동경험이 있는 경우는 남학생 군이 모두 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 일반적 특성에 따른 골다공증 상태와의 관계에서는 성별과 흡연경험이 집단 내에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 성별에서는 남학생에게서는 골감소증이 가장 높게 나타났고, 여학생은 정상이 높게 나타났으며 이는 통계적으로 유의하였다. 흡연경험에 따른 골다공증 상태에서는 흡연경험이 없는 군에서는 정상이 가장 높게 나타났고, 흡연경험이 있는 군에서는 골감소증이 가장 높게 나타났으며 통계적으로 유의하였다.

압착(壓搾).농축식품(濃縮食品)의 시제(試製) (Development of Nutritionally Defined and Compressed Foods)

  • 불의(不意)의 사고(事故)나 정상적(正常的)인 취사급식(炊事給食)이 불가능(不可能)한 상황(狀況)에 대비(對備)하여 휴대취식(携帶取食)할 수 있는 압착(壓搾) 농축식품(濃縮食品)을 시제(試製)하였다. 즉, 원료(原料)는 포도당 전분 쌀 보리 카세인소오다 분유 및 식물성식용유등(植物性食用油等)을 사용하였으며, 원료조성(原料組成)에 있어서 구급상황하(救急狀況下)에서 사용될 1,2형은 탄수화물(炭水化物)을 주(主)로 하되 적량(適量)의 단백질(蛋白質)과 지방(脂肪)을 배합(配合)함으로서 체내수분(體內水分)을 절약(節約)할 수 있도록 조정하였다. 이들 시제품의 용적을 축소하기위하여 $4,000{\sim}7,000psi$ 로 압착성형 하였으며, 특히 3,4형은 결착제 로서 카세인소오다를 사용함으로써 취식성(取食性)을 개선(改善)하였다. 또한 제품(製品)의 파손율(破損率)을 줄이고 저장성(貯藏性)을 높이기 위하여 피막제(被膜劑)로 제품표면을 피막(被膜)하였다. 이와같이 만든 제품(製品)은 g 당 열량(熱量)이 $4.0{\sim}4.4Cal$, $1cm^3$$4.2{\sim}4.9\;Cal$ 이었으며 다소 딱딱한 감이 있기는 하나 휴대 취식성이 좋았다.

남자 고등학생 흡연장의 영양상태 판정 및 흡연관련 요인분석 -1.식이 섭취 실태와 체내 지질 및 항산화 비타민 영양상태- (Assessment of Nutritional Status and Factors Related to Smoking in Adolescent Males -1.Dietary Intakes and Nutritional Assessment of Serum Lipids and Antioxidant Vitamins in Adolescent Male Smokers-)

  • This study was done to investigate the effect of adolescent smoking on dietary intakes and nutritional status of serum lipids and antioxidant vitamins. Subjects were 82 somkers whose average pack-year was 0.73, and 85 nonsmokers of male technical high school students in Seoul. Anthropometric measurement was performed and % body fat was also analyzed by Bioelectrical Impedance Fatness Analyzer(GIF-891). Dietary intakes and habits were examined through questionnaires and nutrient intakes were analyzed by Computer Aided Nutritional (CAN) analysis programs. Serum TG and total cholesterol levels were measured by Spotchem sp-4410 and serum HDL-cholesterol levels were measured by test kit. serum vitamin C level was measured by 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine method and serum levels of vitamin A and vitamin E were measured by HPLC. All data were statistically analyzed by SAS PC package program. There was a significant difference in body fat percentage and systolic blood pressure while other anthropometric measurements were not different between smokers and monsmokers. Caloric intakes(2335㎉) in adolescent smokers tended to be higher than that of nonsmokers (2,175㎉) but the difference was not statistically significant. Intakes of protein(76.67g) and niacin(16.49㎎) in adolescent male smokers were significantly higher(P<0.05) than those of nonsmokers although other nutrient intakes were not significantly different. Analysis of serum lipids showed that serum HDL-cholesterol level of smokers was significantly different. Analysis of serum lipids showed that serum HDL-cholesterol level of smokers was significantly lower(p<0.05) than that of nonsmokers, whereas other lipid levels were not significantly different. Serum vitamin C level was also significantly lower(p<0.05) in adolescent smokers than in nonsmokers. In addition, serum vitamin E level, which was 7.85㎎/1 in smokers, was lower than that of 9.20㎎/1 in nonsmokers(p<0.05) while serum vitamin A level was not significantly different between the two groups. These results indicate that cigarette smoking in adolescence decreases serum levels of HDL-cholesterol, vitamin C and vitamin E even thoughth their smoking history is very short. 울산지역 여중생의 철 영양상태와 빈혈에 관한 연구 (Iron Status and Anemia of Middle School Girls in Ulsan Metropolitan City)

  • This study was designed to assess the nutritional iron status and anemia of middle school girls. Three-hundred-fifty- three female subjects in Ulsan metropolitan city were evaluated using a questionnaire, and hematological indices. The average height and weight of the respondents were 157.19 $\pm$ 5.57 cm and 51.06 $\pm$ 9.42 kg respectively. The average Body Mass Index (BMI, $kg/m^2$) was 20.63 $\pm$ 3.23, which was within the normal range. With regard to clinical symptoms, the greatest number of respondents reported that they experienced 'decreased ability to concentrate'. The total caloric intake of each subject was 1743.28 $\pm$ 343.47 kcal(83.01% of the Korean RDA) and the calcium intake was 634.98 $\pm$ 201.43 mg (79.37% of the Korean RDh) . The mean daily intake of iron was 14.76 : 4.36 mg (92.25% of the Korean RDh) and the heme iron intake was 6.12 $\pm$ 2.30 mg, which was 41.5% of the total iron intake. The average hemoglobin (Hb) concentration of the subjects was 13.24 $\pm$ 1.01 g/dl, and the average hematocrit (Hct) level was 37.79 $\pm$ 4.10%. The transferrin saturation {TS (%)} was 19.41 $\pm$ 9.21%, and the ferritin level was 26.26 $\pm$ 18.60 ng/ml. The iron deficiency anemia among the subjects was estimated at 6.1% by using Hb (< 12 g/ml), 20.5% by using Hct (< 36%), 30.8% by using 75 (< 14%) , and 23.1% by using ferritin (< 12 ng/ml) The total iron binding capacity (TIBC) showed a negative correlation with the Hb, iron, ferritin and 75. With regard to the correlation between blood biochemistry and clinical symptoms related to anemia, the Hb concentration was negatively correlated with 'pale face'(p < 0.05) . In addition, the level of iron was significantly and negatively correlated with 'poor memory' (p<0.01) and the ferritin concentration was negatively correlated with 'no appetite '(p < 0.05) ,'pale face (p < 0.05) . These results suggest that the prevalence of iron deficiency among middle school girls is very high; therefore, guidelines on dietary support and nutritional education to improve their dietary iron status should be provided.

단백질(蛋白質) 최저요구량(最低要求量) 측정(測定)에 관한 연구(測定) (A Study on Estimation of Minimum Protein Requirement)

  • This study was carried out to estimate the minimum protein requirement for the Korean college girls, and to see the effect of carbohydrate intake on the minimum protein requirement in the rat. In the first experiment, three students attending Ewha Womans University were given protein free diet for 7 days while caloric intake were adjusted to maintain constant body weight. Endogenous nitrogen excretion was measured to estimate their minimum protein requirement. Second experiment was carried out in 3 parts to find out the effect of carbohydrate intake on the minimum protein requirement using 15 female, 50 days old rats weighing 120g. Inexperiment 2-1, the rats were fed protein free diet for 9 days and endogenous nitrogen excretion was measured to determine the minimum protein requirement of the rats. In experiment 2-2, the minimum casein requirement of the rats needed to maintain nitrogen equilibrium was estimated by the least squares regression method feeding 3 different levels of casein determined from the result of experiment 2-1. Finally, in experiment 2-3, the rats were given the minimum casein requirement for 7 days with 3 different levels of carbohydrate to find out the effect of carbohydrate intake on the nitrogen balance. The results of this study were as follows. Experiment I. Daily endogenous nitrogen losses of 3 college girls were 1.89g in urine, 1.10g in feces and 0.0108g from skin since the total daily endogenous nitrogen loss was 3.0g and the total daily nitrogen intake was 0.52g, the minimum nitrogen requirement of these subjects was about 2.48g/day (15.5g protein/day). Experiment II. Experiment 2-1: daily endogenous nitrogen losses of the rats fed protein free diet were $22.63{\pm}0.48\;mg$ through urine and $13.12{\pm}0.47\;mg$ in feces. The total daily endogenous nitrogen ouput was $35.71{\pm}1.27\;mg$ and the minimum protein requirement of the rats was 225mg/day in this study. Experiment 2-2: the minimum casein requirement needed to maintain the rats in nitrogen equilibrium was determined to be 340mg/day. Experiment 2-3: the rats were given 350mg/day casein with 3 different levels of carbohydrate (12,26 or 46 Cal by sugar-cornstarch mixture). The nitrogen balances were measured to be +0.0021, +0.0073 and +0.0143 respectively and there were significant differences among 3 groups.

육성기 및 비육기에 급여한 감귤 부산물이 제주도 개량 흑돼지 고기의 품질특성에 미치는 영향 (Feeding Effect of Citrus Byproduct on the Quality of Cross-bred Black Pig in Jeju Island)

  • 본 연구는 제주도에서 폐기되고 있는 밀감 부산물을 돼지에게 급여하여 페기물의 이용과 기능성 돈육의 생산을 위하여 실시하였다. 돼지는 밀감 부산물을 급여하지 않은 등심육(TB-0) 및 육성기에 6% 급여한 후 비육기에 10% 급여한 등심육(TB-1)을 대상으로 여러 가지 영양성분 분석과 관능검사를 실시한 결과 수분, 조단백질, 조지방, 조회분 및 열량은 시료들 사이에 차이가 없었다. 콜레스테롤 함량은 TB-1(41.5 mg/100g)이 TB-0)48.9 mg/100 g)보다 유의하게 낮았다. 무기질 중에서 Mg은 TB-0(192 ppm)가 TB-1(161 ppm)보다 유의하게 높았으며, 비타민 $B_1$$B_2$는 시료들 사이에서 차이가 없었다. 총아미노산 함량은 TB-0 및 TB-1이 각각 19.51 및 18.65%이고, 총유리아미노산 함량은 각각 469.44 및 479.45 mg/100 g으로 처리구간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 포화지방산은 palmitic acid가 가장 많았고, 불포화지방산은 oleic acid가 가장 많았다. 생육과 가열육의 맛, 조직감, 다즙성 및 전체적인 기호성은 밀감 부산물 급여에 의한 영향은 없었으며, 풍미는 TB-1이 TB-0보다 유의하게 높았다.

Growth performance, carcass traits and gut health of broiler chickens fed diets incorporated with single cell protein

  • Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate single cell protein (SCP), produced from Methylococcus species, as a protein source on the growth performance, carcass traits and gut health of broiler chickens. Methods: Ten iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric diets containing 0 (Control), 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% SCP replacing either soybean meal (T1 to T5) or fish meal (T6 to T10) were formulated. Each diet prepared for starter (0 to 14 days), grower (15 to 21 days), and finisher (22 to 42 days) phases was offered to four replicates of 10 chicks each (n = 400). Growth performance at different phases and carcass characteristics and intestinal morphology on 42nd day of trial were measured. Results: Body weight gain in groups fed 2.5% and 5% SCP diets were comparable to control during different phases and cumulatively, however lower (p<0.01) in 7.5% and 10% SCP diets. Feed conversion ratio was better (p<0.01) in 2.5% and 5% SCP diets. Dressing percentage, abdominal fat percentage and meat:bone ratio were not affected (p>0.05) by SCP inclusion in the diets. However, breast percentage was higher (p<0.01) in 2.5% and 5% SCP groups and thigh percentage higher in 7.5% and 10% SCP groups. Total microbial count in duodenum, jejunum and ileum were not affected (p>0.05) by SCP inclusion up to 10% in diets. Duodenal villi length and crypt depth were highest (p<0.01) in group fed 5% SCP diets and lowest in group fed 10% SCP diets. Jejunal villi length and crypt depth as well as ileal villi length were lowest (p<0.01) in group fed 10% SCP diets. Body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio and gut health were better (p<0.01) in broilers fed fish meal based diets compared to soybean meal based diets. Conclusion: It was concluded that inclusion of SCP up to 5% replacing soybean meal in broiler diets is beneficial in improving growth rate, breast yield and gut health status.

바이오디젤 혼합물의 함량변화에 따른 열적 특성에 대한 실험적인 연구 (Experimental Study on the Thermal Characteristics According to the Content Change of Biodiesel Mixture)

  • 연구목적: 신규로 사용되는 바이오연료를 기존 연료와 혼합하여 사용하는 경우 발생하는 위험성과 물성 변화를 열분석 방법(DSC, TGA)을 사용하여 화학 화재의 원인물질의 위험성을 확인하고, 평가할 방법과 그에 따른 물질의 위험성 관련 데이터를 확보함으로써 화재 원인 감식과 감정에 활용하기 위함이다. 연구방법: 본 실험에 사용된 연구 방법으로는 시차주사열량계(DSC : Differential Scanning Calorimeter)에 의하여 피크의 위치, 모양, 개수, 피크의 면적으로부터 열량 변화의 정량적인 정보를 통하여 열유속 차이(Difference in heat flux)를 측정하였고, 열중량분석(TGA : Analyzer)을 시행함으로써 특정한 온도에서 분해열 등에 의해 발생한 무게 변화를 연속적으로 측정하였다. 연구결과: 먼저 열 유속의 그래프에서 물질의 끓는점과 물질이 가지고 있는 고유 특성치 또는 분해에 필요한 에너지를 확인할 수 있다. 둘째 바이오디젤의 함량이 증가할수록 많은 피크를 확인 할 수 있었다. 셋째 비점이 낮은 물질들이 함유하고 있다는 것을 분석 결과로 확인할 수 있었다. 결론: 현재 새로운 에너지원으로 사용되고 있는 바이오디젤의 위험성을 다양한 물리·화학적 분석기법(DSC+TGA)을 통하여 사용함으로써 물질의 물적 위험성을 평가할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 아울러 본 연구의 시험방법별 차이의 비교와 실험에 대한 노하우를 축적하고 활용한다면 향후 위험물의 물성 연구와 물질 위험성 평가 연구에 있어 도움이 되리라 기대한다.
