This paper proposes the comparison results of various optimal power flow algorithms (OPF) to calculate the locational marginal prices (LMP) of the unreduced full scale Korean transmission system. Five different types of optimal power flow models are employed: Full AC OPF, Cubic AC OPF, Quadratic AC OPF, Linear AC OPF and DC OPF. As the results, full AC OPF and cubic AC OPF model provides LMP calculation results very similar to each other while the calculation time of cubic AC OPF model is faster than that of the Full AC OPF. Other simplified OPF models, quadratic AC OPF, linear AC OPF and DC OPF offer erroneous results even though the calculation times are much faster than the Full AC OPF and the Cubic AC OPF. Given the condition that the OPF models sometimes fail to find the optimal solution due to the severe complexity of the Korean transmission power system, the Full AC OPF should be used as the primary OPF model while the Cubic AC OPF can be a promising backup OPF model for the LMP calculations and/or real-time operation.

The structured singular value (${\mu}$) analysis based method has many advantages for the robust stability analysis of missiles with uncertain parameters. Nevertheless, the present linear fractional transformation (LFT) modeling process, which is the basis of ${\mu}$ analysis, is complex, and not suitable for automatic implementation; on the other hand, ${\mu}$ analysis requires a large amount of computation, which is a burden for large-scale application. A constructive procedure, which is computationally more efficient, and which may lead to a lower order realization than existing algorithms, is proposed for LFT modeling. To reduce the calculation burden, an analysis method is developed, based on skew ${\mu}$. On this basis, calculation of the supremum of ${\mu}$ over a fixed frequency range converts into a single skew ${\mu}$ value calculation. Two algorithms are given, to calculate the upper and lower bounds of skew ${\mu}$, respectively. The validity of the proposed method is verified through robust stability analysis of a missile with real uncertain parameters.
There has been considerable activity in recent years in developing timing analysis algorithms for distributed real-time control systems. However, it is difficult for control engineers to analyze the timing behavior of distributed real-time control systems because the algorithms was developed in a software engineer's position and the calculation of the algorithm is very complex. Therefore, there is a need to develop a timing analysis tool, which can handle the calculation complexity of the timing analysis algorithms in order to help control engineers easily analyze or develop the distributed real-time control systems. In this paper, an interactive timing analysis tool, called RAT (Response-time Analysis Tool), is introduced. RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for development of distributed real-time control systems. The schedulability analysis can verify whether all real-time tasks and messages in a system will be completed by their deadlines in the system design phase. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of end-to-end scheduling, RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for series of tasks and messages in a precedence relationship.

The active noise control(ANC) method for noise problems solution generally uses filtered-X LMS algorithms. However, Filtered-X LMS algorithms were mainly used but these had a limitation that had to measure a transfer function of secondary noise path. However, newly proposed correlation-LMS algorithms have slightly much calculation and are minutely behind performance, these have a advantage not in measuring transfer function onerously so that we can easily adapt these in real time. Thus Co-LMS algorithm was developed to improve the real-time implementation performance under the variable input noise such as road noise environment. In this paper, the performance of the Co-LMS is presented in comparison with that of the Filtered-X LMS algorithm. Simulation results show that active noise control using Co-LMS have slightly much calculation and are minutely behind performance, these have a advantage not in measuring transfer function onerously so that we can easily adapt these in real time.

This paper studies the structure and reliability of homogeneous s-coherent multistate system. We describe efficiency of inclusion-exclusion algorithm and pivotal decomposition algorithm for reliability calculation of 2-states system which developed in (Lee 1999) [10]. We extend our method, applied in [10], to the case when components of the system are given multi-states. As an application, the high pressure injection system of a pressurized water reactor is modeled as a multistate system composed of homogeneous s-coherent multistate subsystems. And Several examples are illustrated.

This paper presents the design of a technology mapping system for optimizing delays of combinational and synchronous sequential logic circuits. The proposed system performs delay optimization for combinational logic circuits by remapping, buffering, and gate merging methods through the correct delay calculation in which the loading values are considered. To get time optimized synchronous sequential circuits, heuristic algorithms are proposed. The proposed algorithms reallocate registers by considering the critical path characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed system produces a more optimized technology mapping for MCNC benchmarks compared with mis-II.
AEGIS is a lattice physics code incorporating the latest advances in lattice physics computation, innovative calculation models and efficient numerical algorithms and is mainly used for light water reactor analyses. Though the primary objective of the AEGIS code is the preparation of a cross section set for SCOPE2 that is a three-dimensional pin-by-pin core analysis code, the AEGIS code can handle not only a fuel assembly but also multi-assemblies and a whole core geometry in two-dimensional geometry. The present paper summarizes the major calculation models and part of the verification/validation efforts related to the AEGIS code.

A FFT/IFFT processor is the key component for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems based IEEE 802.11n wireless local area network (WLAN). There exists many radix algorithms according to the structure of butterfly as FFT sub-module, each has the pros and cons on hardware complexity. Here, mixed radix algorithms for 64 and 128 FFT/IFFT processors are proposed, which reduce hardware complexity by using mixture of radix-23 and radix-4 algorithms. The proposed algorithm finish calculation within 3.2${\mu}s$ in order to meet IEEE 802.11n standard requirements and it has less hardware complexity compared with conventional algorithms.

Background: The purpose of this study is to assign an appropriate density to virtual phantom for 2D diode array detector with different dose calculation algorithms to guarantee the accuracy of patient-specific QA. Materials and Methods: Ten VMAT plans with 6 MV photon beam and ten VMAT plans with 15 MV photon beam were selected retrospectively. The computed tomography (CT) images of MapCHECK2 with MapPHAN were acquired to design the virtual phantom images. For all plans, dose distributions were calculated for the virtual phantoms with four different materials by AAA and AXB algorithms. The four materials were polystyrene, 455 HU, Jursinic phantom, and PVC. Passing rates for several gamma criteria were calculated by comparing the measured dose distribution with calculated dose distributions of four materials. Results and Discussion: For validation of AXB modeling in clinic, the mean percentages of agreement in the cases of dose difference criteria of 1.0% and 2.0% for 6 MV were $97.2%{\pm}2.3%$, and $99.4%{\pm}1.1%$, respectively while those for 15 MV were $98.5%{\pm}0.85%$ and $99.8%{\pm}0.2%$, respectively. In the case of 2%/2 mm, all mean passing rates were more than 96.0% and 97.2% for 6 MV and 15 MV, respectively, regardless of the virtual phantoms of different materials and dose calculation algorithms. The passing rates in all criteria slightly increased for AXB as well as AAA when using 455 HU rather than polystyrene. Conclusion: The virtual phantom which had a 455 HU values showed high passing rates for all gamma criteria. To guarantee the accuracy of patent-specific VMAT QA, each institution should fine-tune the mass density or HU values of this device.

In this paper, we proposed the algorithm computes the waste volume periodically for the way of waste repository standard. For the construction of safe and clear urban environment, it is necessary that we identify the rubbish waste volume and we know the accuracy volume. After camera calibration, we obtained the point cloud on the surface of the object and took this as the input of the calculation algorithm of the object volume. We proposed the two volume calculation algorithms based on the triangularmeshing methods and verified the validity of the algorithm through simulation and real experiments. The proposed algorithm can be used not only as the volume calculation of the waste repository but also as the general volume calculation of a three dimensional object.
