To compare germinability of primed seeds with that of water imbibed and nonprimed seeds at different temperatures, percent germination, number of days to attain 50% of the final germination percentage (T50) and mean number of days to germination (MDG) were evaluated at various temperatures ranged from $10^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$. Primed carrot seeds in -0.50 MPa PEG 8000 showed higher percent germination at $10^{\circ}C$ or $35^{\circ}C$. Reductions in T50 and MDG values were observed at all germination temperatures when primed with the PEG. The PEG combined with 100 mM $K_3PO_4$ was not as effective as the PEG alone in improving the germinability of carrot seeds. Nonprimed lettuce seeds germinated only 2% at $30^{\circ}C$ or $35^{\circ}C$. However, priming with 50 mM $K_3PO_4$ increased germination to 40% at $30^{\circ}C$ and to 21% at $35^{\circ}C$. In contrast to the single treatment of 50mM $K_3PO_4$, priming lettuce seeds in a mixture of 50mM $K_3PO_4$ and 200 mM $KH_2PO_4$ resulted in a lower percentage of germination, but a significant greater reduction of T50 and MDG. Percent germination was increased when 200 mM $KH_2PO_4$-primed onion seeds and 100 mM $Ca(NO_3)_2$-primed Welsh onion seeds were germinated at $10^{\circ}C$ or $35^{\circ}C$. Combined treatments with $Ca(NO_3)_2$ for onion and with $KH_2PO_4$ for Welsh onion seeds did not improve percent germination, but they significantly reduced T50 and MDG.

Seed priming is a useful technique for early establishment of seedling. In this experiment, the conditions for priming of pasture seeds (tall fescue, orchardgrass, alfalfa and white clover) have been optimized to ensure an early germination and more uniform growth of seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a split plot design with three replications. The main plots consisted of five different materials such as $KNO_3,\;KH_2PO_4,\;K_3PO_4,\;Ca(NO_3){_2}$ and PEG. The subplots were consisted of three chemical concentration groups such as 500mM (or 10%), 100mM (or 20%) and 200mM (or 30%). Effect of priming materials and its concentrations were different in all four pasture seeds examined. Chemical concentration did not show any significant effects on the germination of tall fescue, however, germination of tall fescue primed with $Ca(NO_3){_2}\;and\;K_3PO_4$ materials were higher than the others. The concentration of prime materials did not affect on the germination of orchardgrass, but germination of orchardgrass primed with $KH_2PO_4$ was showed better result than the other materials examined. The seeds of alfalfa and white clover primed with PEG showed better germination capability than the other priming materials. In addition, chemical concentration of primed seeds also showed significant difference on the germination of alfalfa and white clover. These results suggest that seed priming induced earlier and higher germination for all four pastures tested. However, the, degree of priming effectiveness on pasture species depending on the priming materials and its concentrations.
For making a high degree of efficiency, this study attempts to gather each arisen-sludge from experiments and examine into its characteristics, in order to compare the biological reason of removing phosphorus with sintered body using calcite and the artificial reason of removing with a chemical reagent. First, it can be seen that sludge, which is identified CaCO$_3$, of 0.1∼0.2$\mu$m is regularly formed when using sintered body, calcite. And it is one of the results of the chemical methods in order to remove phosphorus that can be seen that sludges of 100∼50 $\mu$m are formed and that the forms of Ca$_2$P$_2$O$\_$7/, Ca$_3$(PO$_4$)$_2$$.$nH$_2$O, $\beta$-Ca$_2$P$_2$O$\_$7/ are shown when using a reagent, CaO dissolved water. The other of the results of the chemical methods can be seen that a lumpof sludge is formed when using wastewater and a reagent Ca$^2$$\^$+/ are used, and that the lump consists of Ca$_3$(PO$_4$)$_2$$.$nH$_2$O와 Ca$_2$H$_2$P$_4$O$\_$14/.

In this work, the $LiFePO_4-LiCoO_2$ mixed cathode electrodes were prepared and their electrochemical performances were measured in different current density. The cell of $LiFePO_4-LiCoO_2$ observed two voltage plateau regions at 3.4 and 3.9V. The cell of $LiFePO_4-LiCoO_2$ (90:10 wt%) mixed cathode delivered a discharge capacity of ca. 139.8 mAh/g at a 0.2C rate. The capacity of the cell decreased with the current rate and a useful capacity of ca 85.7mAh/g was obtained at a 2C rate.

In this study, the residual heavy metals in the mine tailings, primarily treated by soil washing, were stabilized using phosphate salts. The concentrations of residual contaminants in the washed mine tailings were As (1,861 mg/kg), Cd (20 mg/kg), Cu (56 mg/kg), Pb (2,149 mg/kg), and Zn (633 mg/kg). They were stabilized with $CaHPO_4$, $Ca(H_2PO_4)_2{\cdot}H_2O$, and hydroxyapatite at 0.1 wt%, 1 wt%, and 10 wt% for 1, 3, 5, 7, and 14 days. It was found that 1 wt% $Ca(H_2PO_4)_2{\cdot}H_2O$ was optimum in our experiments, but the stabilization duration did not affect the efficiency. After stabilization with 1 wt% $Ca(H_2PO_4)_2{\cdot}H_2O$ for 1 day, the concentrations of arsenic and heavy metals, As (0.328 mg/L), Cd (0.250 mg/L), Cu (0.143 mg/L), Pb (0.359 mg/L), and Zn (2.622 mg/L), in TCLP leachate were below the RCRA-TCLP limits, which meant the contaminants in the treated mine tailings were stably immobilized.

The tap water used in Seoul was found to be corrosive. Its corrosivity was effectively reduced by that the additions of alkali agent such as NaOH, $Ca(OH)_2$ and corrosion inhibitor such as $H_3PO_4$. For the corrosion test, carbon steel pipe 50 m long was exposed to the drinking water produced by a pilot plant at $36.5^{\circ}C$, similar to the existing process where it takes about 20 minutes to reduce the initial chlorine content of 0.5 mg/L to 0.05 mg/L. $CO_2$ and $Ca(OH)_2$ was added not only to control the Langelier index (LI) above -1.0 and but also, to increase the duration time of residual chlorine by about 6 times. The persistence effect of residual chlorine was in the order of $H_3PO_4$ > $Ca(OH)_2$ > NaOH. Measurements of weight loss showed that corrosion inhibition was effective in order of $Ca(OH)_2$ > $H_3PO_4$ > NaOH > no addition, where the concentrations of $Ca(OH)_2$ and phosphate were 5 ~ 10 mg/L (as $Ca^{2+}$) and 1 mg/L (as $PO{_4}^{3-}$), respectively.
Salt accumulation and movement by runoff ware studied in runoff resevior lysimeter constructed in a green house located in the area of Cheongju, Chungbuk province. Average runoff ratio of rainfall within period of this experiment was 58%. The average content of cations lost from field soil by runoff was in the order of $Ca^{2+}(27.12\;mg/L\;)$ > $K^+(9.18\;mg/L)$ > $Mg^{2+}(2.53\;mg/L)$ > $Na^+(1.89\;mg/L)$ and in the care anions $SO_4\;^{2-}(63.38\;mg\;/L)$ > $NO_3\;^-(25.40\;mg/L)$ > $Cl^-(4.19\;mg/L)$ > $PO_4\;^{3-}(3.18\;mg/L)$. Amounts of salt movement by runoff $SO_4\;^{2-}(140.2\;kg/ha)$, $Ca^{2+}(59.9\;kg/ha)$, $NO_3\;^-(56.1\;kg/ha)$, $K^+(20.3\;kg/ha)$, $Cl^-(9.3\;kg/ha)$, $PO_4\;^{3-}(7.0\;kg/ha)$, $Mg^{2+}(5.6\;kg/ha)$ and $Na^+(4.2\;kg/ha)$. The loss amount of $PO_4\;^{3-}$ was the lowest among the anions investigated in this experiment. $P_2O_5$ was accumulated on the soil surface due to strong affinity for the sorption site on the soil particle surface.

The process of coprecipitation of biocomposite hydroxyapatite/chitosan from aqueous solution at low temperature in alkali environnement was examined. We have shown that initially we have the formation of amorphous octocalcium phosphates $(Ca_8(HPO_4)(PO_4)_5,\;nH_2O:\;OCP)$ and the transferring from OCP to amorphous calcium phosphate $(Ca_9(PO_4)_3,\;nH_2O:\;TCP)$, and then from TCP to calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite $(Ca_{10-X}\;(HPO_4)_X(PO_4)_{6-x}(OH)_{2-X}\;:\;ACP)$ and hydroxyapatite $(Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6(OH)_2\;:\;HAP)$. The transformation of ACP to HAP was inhibited in the presence of chitosan. The result suggests that there is an affinity binding between ACP and chitosan and subsequently blocking the active growth site of ACP.
The perillas were cultivated to investigate for the small metal ion effect on the harvest of perilla loaves in aquicul-ture system in the constant flow rate. The perillas were und-ergrown at the condition of low concentration of KNO$_3$and NH$_4$ H$_2$ PO$_4$as below 270ppm and 152ppm respectively. The high concentration of the metal and non-metal ca-tions of $Ca^{2+}$, $K^+,NH^{4+},Mn^{2+},Zn^{2+},Cu^{2+},Na^+,Mo^{+6}$ are influenced to the growth of plant length of perillas at the earlier time. The low concentration of the metal cations of $Ca^{2+}, K^+, NH^{4+}, NO_3^-, H_2PO_4^-$ are influenced to lower growth of perillas. The concentration of the cations of $Ca^{2+}, K^+$and $NH_4^+$ and the anions of $NO_3^-$and $H_2PO_4^-$ are affected the growth of leaf length and width of leaf of perillas. The spectoscopic analytical results showed that the perillas were growing rapidly in the period of 6 days from June 7 to June 12 by high amount of $Mg^{2+}$ ion with accumulation inside perillas. The crude protein, the crude fat and the hydrocarbon are accumulated in the leaves of perillas by binding the inorganic with amino acids to provide the nutritions needed for growth of perillas.
