This paper is the first of its kind using a non-linear approach based on cross-correlation function (CCF) to investigate the information arrival hypothesis in crude palm oil (CPO) futures market. Based on daily data from 1986 to 2010, our empirical results reveal that: First, the volume of volatility is not a proxy of information flow. Second, dependence causality running from current return to future volume in conditional variance exhibit an asymmetric pattern of time span with different signs of correlation between price and volume series. This finding indicates the presence of noise traders' hypothesis of price-volume interaction in CPO futures market. Both findings suggest that this futures market is weak-form inefficiency. In terms of investors' behavior, they tend to change their expectations on current return based on errors made in previous trade in generating abnormal volume in the subsequent period. As implied, it is advisable for the investors devise their future trading strategies according to time span and changes of return.

In this study, quality properties of rapeseed oil by different roasting temperatures (140, 160, 180, and 200℃) were investigated. Roasted-pressed oil (RPO) showed a decrease in lightness and an increase in redness and yellowness with an increase in temperature compared to cold-pressed oil (CPO). In addition, the β-carotene and tocopherol content also increased in RPO as the roasting temperature increased. The tocopherol content increased by 18~20% in RPO at 200℃ compared to CPO. This increase in bioactive components led to improved radical scavenging activity dependent on roasting temperature, and RPO at 200℃ showed a 2.7-fold improvement compared to CPO. Finally, it was observed that higher roasting temperatures resulted in an extended oxidation induction period, increasing by up to 3.3 times. In conclusion, roasting is an effective method for enhancing the oil functionality of domestic rapeseed varieties. This study provides basic data for producing high-quality oil.

지난 2008년 미국 대통령 오바마가 대선 후보시절, 온라인 상의 개인정보와 프라이버시 보호에 대한 강화의지를 피력한 기사를 볼 수 있었다. 마케팅 천국이라고 불리는 미국에서 온라인 상에서 수집되는 개인정보가 어떻게 보호될 것인지 그리고 그에 따른 강력한 미 정부규제는 어떻게 진행될 것인지 궁금해 지는 대목이었다. 그런 의미에서 오바마에게 연방정부 차원의 CPO를 임명할 것을 요구했던 Future Of Privacy Forum의 회장인 Jules Polonetsky와 이메일 인터뷰를 진행했다. 그는 American Online, AIM, Netscape 등 AOL 자회사 소비자 보호 및 리스크 관리 이슈 담당자를 거쳐, TRUSTe, IAPP, Direct Marketing Associationd의 프라이버시 위원회 등에서 프라이버시 및 소비자 보호 관련 임원을 맡고 있다.

A parallel flats faraction for the $3^n$ factorial experiment is symbolically written as $At = C(r\timesf)$ where $A(r\timesn)$ is of rank r. The A-matrix partitions the nonnegligible effects into $(3^{n-r}-1)/2+1$ alias sets. The $U_i$ effects in the i-th alias set are related pairwise by elements from $S_3$, the symmetric group on three symbols. For each alias set the f flats produce an $f \times u_i$ alias componet permutation matrices (ACPM) with elements from $S_3$. All the information concerning the relationships among levels of the effects is contained in the ACPM.

Presented in this paper is a CPO tool-path linking procedure optimizing technological objectives, such as dealing with islands (positive and negative) and minimizing tool retractions, drilling holes and slotting. Main features of the proposed algorithm are as follows; 1) a data structure, called a 'TPE-net', is devised to provide information on the parent/child relationships among the tool-path-elements, 2) the number of tool retractions is minimized by a 'tool-path-element linking algorithm'fading a tour through the TPE-net, and 3) the number of drilling holes is minimized by making use of the concept of the 'free space'.

In this paper, we discuss the characterizations and uniqueness of a one-sided best simultaneous approximation for a compact subset from a convex subset of a finite-dimensional subspace of a normed linear space $C_1(X)$. The motivation is furnished by the characterizations of the one-sided best simultaneous approximations for a finite subset ${f_1, \ldots, f_\ell}$ for any $\ell \in N$.

We consider a Bayesian nonignorable selection model to accommodate the selection bias. Markov chain Monte Carlo methods is known to be very useful to fit the nonignorable selection model. However, sensitivity to prior assumptions on parameters for selection mechanism is a potential problem. To quantify the sensitivity to prior assumption, the deviance information criterion and the conditional predictive ordinate are used to compare the goodness-of-fit under two different prior specifications. It turns out that the 'MLE' prior gives better fit than the 'uniform' prior in viewpoints of goodness-of-fit measures.

The recently revised "Telecommunications Business Promotion and Personal Data Protection Act" is an important legal milestone in promoting the Korean telecommunications infrastructure and industry as well as protecting individuals' personal data and individuals' rights to privacy. Special characteristics of information security and privacy protection services including public goods' feature, adaptiveness, relativity, multi-dimensionality, and incompleteness, are reviewed. The responsibility of chief security/privacy officers in the IT industry, and the fairness and effectiveness of the criminal negligence in the Telecommunications Act are analyzed. An assessment of the rationale behind the act as well as a survey of related laws and cases in different countries, offers the following recommendations : i) revise the act and develop new systems for data protection, ii) grant a stay of execution or reduce the sentence given extenuating circumstances, or iii) use technical and managerial measures in data protection for exemption from criminal negligence.
