  • Code V was used to make a plan for collimator lens with aspherical surface in the present study. The acquired optical design data were applied for ultra-precision machining. The optimum properties were determined to find ways to compensate the tool positioning error allowance during the ultra-precision machining. In ultra-precision aspheric machining, figure tolerance corrected by tool positioning error be improved by compensation cycle number.

  • This paper describes a 40-Msample/s 10-bit CMOS folding and interpolating analog-to-digital converter (ADC). A new 2-step architecture is proposed. The proposed architecture is composed of a coarse ADC bloch for the 6bits of MSBs and a fine ADC block for the remaining 4bits. The amplified folding analog signals in the coarse ADC are selectively chosen for the fine ADC. In the fine ADC, the bubble errors of the comparators are corrected by using the BGM(binary-gray-mixed) code[1] and extra two comparators are used to correct underflow and overflow errors. The proposed ADC was simulated using CMOS 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ parameters and occupies 1.0mm$\times$1.0mm. The power consumption is 48㎽ at 40MS/s with 2.5-V power supply. The INL is under $\pm$2.0LSB and the DNL. is under $\pm$1.0LSB by Matlab simulations.

  • In this study, nonlinear vibration analysis of the cylindrical orthotropic porous thin plate under V-shaped tension distribution with wire impact damping is considered. We make dynamic model of the plate under the tension using commercial FEM code and reduce the number of its degrees of freedom using dynamic condensation. The dynamic model of wire is obtained as lumped mass model from string equation. And then we analyze the nonlinear vibration of the plate including the impact phenomenon between the plate and the wire using the reduced mass and stiffness matrices of the plate and lumped model of the wire. The contact phenomenon between them can be described by impact contact elements composed of contact stiffness coefficients from Hertzian contact theory and contact damping coefficients from restitution coefficient between them. And we discussed the results of nonlinear vibration analysis for variations of their design parameters.

  • We obtained the spectra of 93 Planet host stars and 73 normal field stars in F, G, K type using BOES at BOAO. We measured the equivalent width of Fe and 13 elements lines using the automatic EW measurement program, TAME(Tools for Automatic Measurement of Equivalent-widths) and estimated the abundances by synth and abfind driver of MOOG code. Since the absence of planets in the normal field stars cannot be "completely" proved, this work focused on the chemical abundances and planet properties of planet host stars, which have the massive planets close to the parent star relatively. We carried out an investigation for the difference of abundances between stars with "Hot Jupiter" and normal field stars with no known planets. We examined the chemical composition of 12 elements, such as Na, Mg, Al, Si, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, and Ni by EW measurements, and the S abundances were estimated using synthetic spectrum.

  • The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the influence of shear span-to-depth ratio on the minimum shear reinforcement ratio of reinforced concrete beams. In this study, 7 reinforced concrete beam specimens were tested. The parameters of experiment are shear span-to-depth ratio(a/d=2.0, 3.0, 4.0) and shear reinforcement ratio($p_v$=0%, 0.183%, and 0.233%). The section of all secimens was 350mm width and 450mm depth. The observed results were compared with the calculated results by the current ACI 318-02 Building Code and the proposed equation. The safety rate of the specimens, L5S2A, L5S3A, L5S4A, and L5S4P specimens were 1.80, 1.25, 1.38, and 1.56 respectively. The test results indicated that the shear behavior of reinforced concrete beams with the minimum shear reinforcement was influenced by the shear span-to-depth ratio.

  • Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) has commonly been used to strengthen existing RC structures. Wrapping the whole component with CFRP is an effective method and simple to execute. Besides, specific configuration of CFRP sheets (L, X and T shape) has also been considered in some experiments to examine CFRP effects in advance. This study aimed to provide an optimal CFRP configuration to effectively retrofit the beam-column connection using continuous material topology optimization procedure. In addition, Moved and Regularized Heaviside Functions and penalization factors were also considered. Furthermore, a multi-material procedure was also used to compare with the results from the single material procedure.

  • Three-dimensional numerical analysis of the turbulent premixed flame propagation in a constant volume combustion chamber is performed using the KIVA-3V code (Amsden et. al. 1997) by the flame surface density (FSD) model. A simple near-wall boundary condition is eaployed to describe the interaction between turbulent premixed flame and the wall. A mean stretch factor is introduced to include the stretch and curvature effects of turbulence. The results from the FSD model are compared with the experimental results of schlieren photos and pressure measurements. It is found that the burned mass rate and flame propagation by the FSD model are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results. The FSD combustion model proved to be effective for description of turbulent premixed flames.

  • A diesel spray overall SMD (Sauter mean diameter) in a spray chamber was simulated with CFD by varying the compression ratio in the spray chamber from 18:1 to 100:1. The gas densities of the spray chambers for the compression ratios of 18:1 and 100:1 were 17.97 and $74.8kg/m^3$, respectively. Standard KIVA-3V code was used for the CFD simulation. Various fuel injection patterns such as single injection, pilot injection and split injection were used for the CFD simulation. Fuel injection pressures for the simulated diesel sprays are 90 and 120 MPa. As the compression ratio increases, the CFD simulated SMD was decreased, which was generally in agreement with previous experimental studies.

  • The interaction between methane and hydrogen premixed flames with the different equivalence ratio and global strain rate was investigated numerically in one-dimensional counterflow field. The OPPDIF code and GRI-v3.0 were used to simulate the interacting flames. Overall trends in the maximum heat release rates of $CH_4{^-}$ and $H_2$-side flame were examined with the variation of $a_g$. The interaction mode of the flames were classified according to the equivalence ratios and Lewis numbers of each flame and global strain rate.
