고농도 도공과 품질변화의 상관성 연구(2보) -도공지의 품질과 고농도 도공의 효과- (Studies on Relations between High Solid Coating and Quality Changes(II) - Effect of high solid coating on coated paper properties -)

  • This paper confirms that high solid coating can increase coating speed and reduce drying cost. Low solid coating color with the synthetic thickener and high solid coating color with the rheology modifier and with higher ratio of GCC were prepared. Coated paper was then produced with an industrial coater, varying coating speed and dryer temperature in order to keep the moisture content of the coated paper constant. Coating color concentration was able to be increased from 66% to 69% and from 68% to 71% without an adverse effect on coating color rheology. With a help of the rheology modifier, the increased ratio of GCC in high solid coating did not show harmful effects on the coated paper quality.

  • 본 연구는 현장방염처리 물품에 대한 성능검사와 관련하여 불합리한 제도를 개선하고, 합리적인 방염성능검사 방법을 통하여 현장방염처리 물품에 대한 방염의 신뢰성을 확보하는데 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 최근 2년 동안 일선 소방관서에서 실시한 현장방염처리 물품에 대한 방염성능검사 실적을 토대로 최근에 사용되는 인테리어 마감자재 및 현장방염처리 경향에 대한 분석을 하였다. 또한 현장방염처리물품에 대한 성능검사 방법 및 절차, 방염처리업 등록제도의 문제점 등을 분석하여 현 실정에 적합한 방염성능검사 방법 및 성능검사의 신뢰성 확보를 위한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • Mold design for in-mold coating was carried out to achieve simultaneous injection molding and two-color coating for car gas cap cover. The developed mold includes one core and three cavities which are composed of a substrate cavity and two coating cavities. To provide a sealing edge for complete seal during the second coating, the first coated material was used at the boundary between the first coating and the second one, and injection molded substrate was used at the parting line. The materials used were PC/ABS for substrate and 2-component Polyurea for coating. Through experiments, it was found that the suggested sealing edges were effective for complete seal during the second coating. In cavity pressure traces, there were three peaks caused by mold closing, coating-material injection and cleaning-piston advancement inside the mixing head. The cavity pressure increased with decreasing coating thickness.

  • Zinc wiping is a phenomenon used to control zinc-coating thickness on steel substrate during hot dip galvanizing by equipment called air knife. Uniformity of zinc coating weight in length and width profile along with surface quality are most critical quality parameters of galvanized steel. Deviation from tolerance level of coating thickness causes issues like overcoating (excess consumption of costly zinc) or undercoating leading to rejections due to non-compliance of customer requirement. Main contributor of deviation from target coating weight is dynamic change in air knives equipment setup when thickness, width, and type of substrate changes. Additionally, cold coating measurement gauge measure coating weight after solidification but are installed down the line from air knife resulting in delayed feedback. This study presents a coating weight control model (Galvantage) predicting critical air knife parameters air pressure, knife distance from strip and line speed for coating control. A reverse engineering approach is adopted to design a predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive model recommending air knife setups that estimate air knife distance and expected coating weight in real time. Implementation of this model eliminates feedback lag experienced due to location of coating gauge and achieving setup without trial-error by operator.

피복 화산암재를 이용한 경량콘크리트의 강도특성에 관한 실험적연구 (An Experimental Study on the Properties of Strength for Lightweight Concrete of Coated Scoria Lightweight Aggregate)

  • 화산암재 경량골재의 구조용 경량콘크리트로서의 활용방안에 대한 기초적 자료를 제공할 목적으로 4종류의 피복 화산암재를 제조하여 각 시료의 비중, 흡수율, 단위용적중량, 공극율과 실적율등을 측정하고 각 시료를 사용하여 경량콘크리트를 제조하여 각 조건에 따라 압축강도, 단위용적중량, 슬럼프 등을 측정하였다. 실험결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 피복 화산암재의 흡수율은 1.7~10.1%, 단위용적중량은 0.91~0.97t/㎥으로 나타났으며, 이 시료로 제조된 경량콘크리트의 압축강도는 162~215kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$으로 나타났다. (2)물시멘트비와 단위시멘트량을 증가시켰을 때 사용한 피복시료의 흡수율이 클수록 압축강도 감소율이 크게 나타나다. (3) 본 실험결과 피복 화산암재 제조시의 부착불량 현상만 해소된다면 표면피복제와 시멘트 페이스트를 함께 사용한 피복시료를 이용하여 낮은 흡수율과 높은 압축강도의 경량골재콘크리트를 제조 할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • The influence of the first coating layer on the properties of the second coating layer is reported. For various model coating composition, ratios of first and second coating weights are used to generate coating layers. The void volume, pore size distribution and light scatter coefficient of the coatings are measured. In some cases, the fine material from the second layer seems to penetrate the first layer to reduce the void fraction of the total system. Rapid setting coating, for example thin layers on porous first layer tends to generate porous coating layers.

  • Studies are using a roll forming bar. A bar coating device available for a variety of coating conditions was developed. It is characterized by the bar forward and reverse rotation, fine-tune coating speed, and stripe coating. To determine the characteristics of the equipment, the coating tests under different coating conditions were carried out. As a result of the coating tests, the equipment was confirmed as one of strong candidates for the production tool of organic solar cells. The further production test of organic solar cells through stripe coating is in progress.

  • The structure of coating layer formed by hot dip Al-Cu alloy coating on Monel 1400 metal was studied. The coating layer consists of alloyed layer adjacent to the Monel 400 substrate and Al-Cu alloy. It was found that the hardness of coating increased with dipping time and heat treatment associated with the diffusion and the formation of intermetallic compound at the interface. However the thickness of coating layer was decreased at high dipping temperature due to tile higher viscosity of liquid coating alloy. Diffusion heat treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ after coating resulted in the disappearence of adhered Al(Cu) and $CuAl_2$ phases, and then they transformed into the new phases of CuAl and Al7Cu4Ni at coating layer.

  • A ceramic coating material with nano-sized silicon oxide on AISI 4340 steel for a thermal conductor at a high temperature was analyzed to find an optimum coating process. Average surface roughness of the coating layers prepared by dipping process was about $5.26{\mu}m$. Potassium silicate addition as a binder of the coating material tended to improve its hardness. A pencil scratch hardness testing showed that a loading more than 800 g made fragments of the coating layer.

  • The process of double coating consists of bottom coating using relatively coaser pigments to improve characteristics of base paper and top coating using finer pigments to cover unevenness of the bottom coating and to give various function of the coated paper. The structure of precoating is influenced not only by its components, but also characteristics of base paper, Moreover pore size and its size distribution of precoating are expected to influence the top coating properties, but this is not well understood. Coating and printing operations involve the application of pigmented fluid on top of a porous substrate. The porosity of the substrate has been shown to influence the properties of the coating, but a good understanding of the mechanisms is lacking in the literature. The role of pore size and void volume on top coating structure is unclear.
