Effects of Fertilizer and Regulator Application on Shortening of Plant Height and Yield of Sesame (시비방법과 생장조정제 처리가 참깨 초장단축 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to find of shortening degree of plant height and seed yield of sesame by different treatment of fertilizer and regulator application. Treatment of higher yield was compost, foliar spraying of Tachigaren chemicals and pinching + 1. 5 times as much as control application of 3 elements which was nitrogen, phosphate, potassium. Especially, Tachigaren chemicals plot was showed increasing lodging resistance because of shortening stem of 6cm compare with control plot and more 8% than control plot in seed yield. Expectant treatment of seed yield was application of compost 2,000Kg per l0a. Foliar spraying of Tachigaren chemicals at 6 leaves full-open of main stem was expected higher yield as well as shortening stem.

Effect of Sulfur Application on Mulberry Growth and Chemical Composition of Soil and Leaf. (황시용이 뽕나무의 생육 및 토양과 뽕잎의 화학성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of sulfur application on mulberry growth and soil chemical properties were examined in mulberry trees grown in a green house. Mulberry graftages were planted in Wagner pots and sulfur was applied at the levels of 0, 30, 60, or 120 kg/10a. Mulberry stem growth increased by 3.2 cm at 30 kg/ha than at 0 kg/ha sulfur application. Stem growth, however, decreased by 3.7 cm with the application of sulfur higher than at 60 kg/10a. Soil pH changed by the application of sulfur. With the application of sulfur at 120 kg/10a, soil pH decreased by 3.0. Temporal changes in the effective from sulfur content in soil indicated that sulfur dissolved between 4 to 10 days after application in the soil. Content of moisture and chemical components in mulberry leaves was also affected by the application levels of sulfur. Moisture, total-N, No3-N, K, and S content decreased, but F and Ca content increased with the application of sulfur lower than at 60 kg/10a. With the application of sulfur higher than at 60 kg/10a, P, S, and K content increased.

Comparison of Efficiencies Among Hand Sorting, Vermifuge Application and Combined Methods for Earthworm Sampling in the Field (수작업, 기피제처리, 수작업과 기피제 혼합처리에 의한 지렁이 채집효율 비교)

  • Efficiencies of hand sorting, vermifuge application and combined methods of them for sampling earthworms in the field were compared. 1) hand sorting : sampling unit of soil (50 cm${\times}$50 cm${\times}$30 cm, width${\times}$length${\times}$depth) was dug out and earthworms were sorted by hands. 2) Vermifuge application : Solution of mustard, pepper or formalin was treated onto the soil surface of smpling unit (50 cm${\times}$50 cm, width${\times}$length). 3) Combined method : In a sampling unit of soil (50 cm${\times}$50 cm${\times}$30 cm, width${\times}$length), hand sorting was carried out into the depth of 10 cm or 15 cm and then vermifuge was treated. Earthworms were collected more in numbers by hand sorting than vermifuge application although it was much more time-consuming and labor intensive. Efficiency of mustard to extract earthworms was as same as formalin but much better than that of pepper. Combined method of hand sorting with mustard treatment was more efficient than vermifuge applications and other combined methods. And it could collect earthworms as many as hand sorting, but was much less time-consuming and labor-intensive than hand sorting. Thus combined method of hand sorting (to the depth of 15 cm) with mustard treatment could be recommended for the sampling of earthworms in the field.

Effect of Cattle-Manure Application on Soil Chemical Properties and Crop Yields in Rice-Forage Cropping System

  • The steady increase in livestock industry has greatly required the stable production of food and forage crops. As an alternative, rice-forage cropping system has been attempted in several southern areas. The present study was performed to understand whether an application of cattle-manure compost affects soil chemical properties and crop productivity in rice-forage cropping system, rice ${\rightarrow}$ summer oat ${\rightarrow}$ rye, in Jangheong county, south Jeolla province from 2013 to 2014. Treatments was composed of control (no compost), CM1 (compost application before rice transplanting), and CM2 (two-times compost application, before rice transplanting and after rice harvest), and inorganic fertilizers (N, P, and K) were equally dressed in all plots. Yields of rice were not significantly different between treatments, however, oat production was 1.25-fold higher in CM1 and CM2. Nutrient uptake amounts of rye were higher in CM2 than CM1 and control. Total nitrogen in soil was maintained stable level during crop cultivation. And soil organic matter contents in all treatments were increased by crop residue. Available P_2O_5$ and exchangeable K were increased by cattle manure application. Therefore, it suggested that the amount of nutrient by forage crop residue should be considered in rice-forage multiple cultivation.

The Effects of Wound Healing of Pulsed Ultrasound in Diabetic Induced Rats (맥동성초음파가 당뇨유발백서의 창상치유에 미치는 효과)

  • The present studies have been designed to evaluate the effect of acute wound healing that frequency and intensity of pulsed ultrasound application in diabetic rat. Mild diabetes mellitus was induced in rat with 45 mg/kg streptozotocin. The results were analyzed and summarized as follows: 1. The rate of wound length on ultrasonic capacity in $1.0\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ group was more significantly decreased than $0.5\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ group. 2. In the histological change, the $1.0\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ application group was more effective than $0.5\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ group, decrease of inflammatory cell was significantly in several groups. From the conclusions above, in this study application of 3 MHz pulsed ultrasound in acute wound healing, $1.0\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ capacity can be an effective way of promotion wound healing than $0.5\;W/cm^2$ $SATA_i$ capacity in diabetic rat.

Effects of Drill Widths and Nitrogen Application Levels in Early Spring on the Growth Characteristics and Seed Productivity of Italian Ryegrass (Lolium multifloum Lam.) (휴폭 및 이른 봄 질소시용이 이탈리안 라이그라스의 생육특성과 종자수량에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of drill widths and nitrogen application levels on the growth characteristics and seed productivity of Italian ryegrasss(Lolium multiflorum Lam.) were evaluated. The experimental design was a split-plot arrangement with three replications. The main-plots were three drill widths of 15, 30 and 45cm, and subplots were three nitrogen application rates of 50, 75 and 100 kg/㏊ in early spring. Among the growth characteristics, lodging tolerance appeared to be highest in the treatment including 45cm of drill width and 50kg/㏊ of nitrogen application compared to other treatments. The numbers of stem per one square meter tended to be increased more in drill width of 15cm than in that of 30 or 45cm, but other growth characteristics were similar among treatments. In seed yield components, the numbers of spike per one square meter were getting increased according as drill width was narrower, but spike length and 1,000 seed weight were longer and heavier. respectively. The rate of ripened pains was highest in treatment including 30cm of drill width and 50kg/㏊ of nitrogen application. Maximum seed yield was also obtained in same treatment.

The site application with 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ high strength concrete (700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 고강도 콘크리트의 현장적용)

  • A successful site application with 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ ultra-high strength concrete was made by research team of Daewoo Institute of Construction Technology in Jinhae. Trial mixings of concrete, the productivity of batcher plant, the elapsed time and the pumpability had been investigated for the site condition, before the site application. As results, the efficiency of production by automatic batcher plant systems was improved and the method of quality control was estabilished for the security of fluidity due to the elapsed time, the pumping and consolidation and so on. The concrete strength cores as well as cylinders was showed more than 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ for the required age. And this study would be provided valuable data base for the practical utilization of high strength concrete. Further, this study would be given new possibilities of high rise RC constructions.

Development of a Smartphone Application for the Measurement of Tree Height and Diameter at Breast Height (수고 및 흉고직경 측정 스마트폰 애플리케이션 개발)

  • We developed smartphone application and web application server to acquire and effectively manage tree measurement information. Smartphone applications can measure tree height, diameter at breast height (DBH), azimuth, altitude, slope, and positional coordinates using augmented reality (Google AR core) and motion sensors. The web application server effectively manages and stores measurement information. To evaluate the accuracy of information acquired using a smartphone, 90 Korean pine trees (Pinus koraiensis) were randomly selected from a natural mixed forest, with a total of 90 representative trees randomly collected from a natural mixed forest. Then, height and DBH were measured using a Haglof Vertex Laser Hypsometer and caliper. Comparisons of the results indicated significant results at the 95% level and a very high average correlation of 0.972 for both tree height and DBH. In terms of DBH, the average errors were 0.6745 cm and 1.0139 cm for artificial coniferous and natural mixed forests, respectively.

Study on the increases in rice yield (수도다수확재배시험)

  • 1. This experiment was conducted with paddy rice in replicated field plot of clay load in Chung Puk College. This experiment has been intended to find out the suitable polt for increasing the yield of rice plant among the 36 plots which consist of 3 factors; deep plowing, heavy fertilizer and thick planting. 2 According to the standard and the heavy fertilizer applications, spikes and grains per phyung have been compared. It has been find out that the higher yield can be obtain in such plots as these; (1) the plot with standard fertilizer application, 15cm plowing depth and 400 hill per phyung, (2) the plot with two times as much fertilizer application, 30 cm plowing depth and 300 hills per phyung, (3) the plot with three times as much fertilizer application, 30cm plowing depth and 300 hills, or 45cm plowing depth and 400hills per phyung. 3. In the yield of brown rice, there has been significant difference in each main factor: hills per phyung, the plowing depth and the amount of fertilizer, and in the first order interaction; depthxfertilizer, depthxhills and hillsxfertilizer, and in the 2nd order interaction; depthx hillsxfertilizer. 4. In the plots with 30cm plowing depth, thick, planting of 200∼300 hills per phyung and two times as much fertilizer, the yield of rice has been superior to others.

  • This paper reports the application of high strength concrete designed as 800kg/$cm^2$ on the columns and belt wall of Tower Palace III. The concrete should meet or exceed the requirements of slump of 23cm, ${\sigma}$18H of 100kg/$cm^2$, ${\sigma}$91th of 800kg/$cm^2$. The concrete mixings with 4 different domestic Silica fumes were investigated. Laboratory tests, the pilot productions of batcher plant and the full-scale mock up tests were performed As results of site application, all test results are satisfied with the requirements of columns and belt wall.
