The consciousness and eating habits of the housekeeper directly influence the stress level and health quality of the household occupants. In Korea, most housewives are in charge of dietary life. Accordingly, their attitudinal clusters toward dietary (eating) life were researched in relation to their stress and health. The research results showed that irregular eating habits cause stress. Therefore, it is necessary for housewives to have a regular eating habit. The results were as follows. The house wives' attitudes toward dietary life were categorized into 5 clusters: regular and speedy overeating, regular and frequent eating, regular and light eating, irregular and light eating, irregular and speedy overeating. The cluster of regular and frequent snacks was 24.3%. The cluster of irregular and speedy overeating caused the most stress. Especially the house wives' group belonging to the cluster of irregular and speedy overeating were under social and emotional stress, while the cluster of regular and light eating and the cluster of irregular and light eating were under concentration stress. The cluster of regular and frequent snacks and the cluster of irregular and light eating had negative effect on their health, while the cluster of regular and speedy overeating had negative effect on their family's health by their social stress.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate symptom clusters experienced by patients on hemodialysis and to identify relations between symptom clusters and quality of life. Methods: Data were collected from 127 patients at 10 local hemodialysis clinics. Symptoms were measured using 10-item physical symptom checklist as well as the Hospital Anxiety depression Scale. Quality of life was measured with the Satisfaction with Life Scale. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The most frequently reported symptoms included fatigue, itching, depression, numbness/tingling, and insomnia. Four distinct symptom clusters were identified: cluster 1 was comprised of dry mouth, headache, nausea (gastrointestinal); cluster 2 of decreased appetite, insomnia (basic need); cluster 3 of itching, numbness/tingling (sensory-comfort); and cluster 4 of fatigue, depression (mood-vitality). Among the clusters, the 'basic need' cluster and 'mood-vitality' cluster had a significant negative association with quality of life. The 'mood-vitality' cluster, explained 17.4% of the variance in quality of life. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that comprehensive symptom assessment provides better symptom management for patients on hemodialysis. Further studies are needed to verify symptom clusters identified in this study.

We report the spatial distribution of early-type stars and pre-main-sequence (PMS) stars around the starburst type young open cluster Westerlund 2. The early-type were selected from UBVI photometric data, while the PMS members were identified from their X-ray emission and mid-infrared excess. The northern clump of the cluster is composed mainly of PMS stars detected in both optical and X-ray and seems to be coeval to the cluster, while PMS stars in the bright bridge region are highly obscured in optical wavelength. The bright bridge appear to be an on-going star forming region possibly triggered by the strong radiation field from both sides-massive stars in Westerlund 2 and WR 20b. We also found that there are many early-type stars not only in the cluster but also farther from the cluster up to several times of the cluster radius. These early-type stars are well aligned from east to southwest of the cluster. We conclude these early-type stars are members of an OB association in the RCW 49 nebula. This report indicates there is a complex star formation history in Westerlund 2 and its surrounding H II region, the RCW 49 nebula.

Purpose: Women with gynecologic cancer often experience various physical and psychological symptoms relating to the cancer and its treatment. The purpose of this study was to identify symptom clusters. Method: A survey was conducted on 184 women with diagnoses of cervical, ovarian or endometrial cancer. Fifty symptoms were assessed for prevalence, severity and interference, and symptom clusters were identified. Cluster analysis was done using SPSS version 12.0. Results: Fatigue was identified as the most prevalent symptom (81.52%), lack of vaginal lubrication (2.26) as the most severe symptom, and lack of vaginal lubrication as the most interfering one (2.15). Identified six clusters were: Anorexia-pain cluster (loss of appetite, taste change, weight loss, appearance change, alopecia, weakness, pain), Fatigue cluster (lack of concentration, lack of memory, fatigue, dry mouth), Urinary-bowel distress cluster (urinary difficulty, constipation), Abdominal discomfort cluster (lower abdominal pain, abdominal pain, bloating), Emotional distress (sadness, anxiety-worry, nervousness, restlessness), and Menopausal cluster (sweating, hot flush, fever). Conclusion: The result of this study provides fundamental data to health care professionals in developing interventions for effective symptom management for women with gynecologic cancer by understanding identified 6 symptom clusters.
Resource sharing is a major advantage of distributed computing. However, a distributed computing system may have some physical or virtual resource that may be accessible by a single process at a time. The mutual exclusion issue is to ensure that no more than one process at a time is allowed to access some shared resource. The article proposes a token-based mutual exclusion algorithm for the clustered mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). The mechanism that is adapted to handle token passing at the inter-cluster level is different from that at the intra-cluster level. It makes our algorithm message efficient and thus suitable for MANETs. In the interest of efficiency, we implemented a centralized token passing scheme at the intra-cluster level. The centralized schemes are inherently failure prone. Thus, we have presented an intra-cluster token passing scheme that is able to tolerate a failure. In order to enhance reliability, we applied a distributed token circulation scheme at the inter-cluster level. More importantly, the message complexity of the proposed algorithm is independent of N, which is the total number of nodes in the system. Also, under a heavy load, it turns out to be inversely proportional to n, which is the (average) number of nodes per each cluster. We substantiated our claim with the correctness proof, complexity analysis, and simulation results. In the end, we present a simple approach to make our protocol fault tolerant.
Internet-based computer systems have to provide both high-availability and high-performance. Cluster technology has been used to obtain availability and performance simultaneously Generally, high-availability cluster systems tolerate a failure of a cluster node and cost-effectively solve it. In this paper, we study availability and downtime cost of (n,k) cluster systems. By considering performance, we model state transition of (n,k) cluster systems and apply software rejuvenation technique to improve availability of the system. We find that software rejuvenation can be used to improve availability of (n,k) cluster systems.

A novel jamming detection technique to detect the presence of jamming in the downstream direction for cluster based wireless sensor networks is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique is deployed in base station and in cluster heads. The proposed technique is novel in two aspects: Firstly, whenever a cluster head receives a packet it verifies whether the source node is legitimate node or new node. Secondly if a source node is declared as new node in the first step, then this technique observes the behavior of the new node to find whether the new node is legitimate node or jammed node. In order to monitor the behavior of the existing node and new node, the second step uses two metrics namely packet delivery ratio (PDR) and received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The rationality of using PDR and RSSI is presented by performing statistical test. PDR and RSSI of every member in the cluster is measured and assessed by the cluster head. And finally the cluster head determines whether the members of the cluster are jammed or not. The CH can detect the presence of jamming in the cluster at member level. The base station can detect the presence of jamming in the wireless sensor network at CH level. The simulation result shows that the proposed technique performs extremely well and achieves jamming detection rate as high as 99.85%.
Clustering methods are very useful in many fields such as data mining, classification, and object recognition. Both the supervised and unsupervised grouping approaches can classify a series of sample data with a predefined or automatically assigned cluster number. However, there is no constraint on the number of elements for each cluster. Numbers of cluster members for each cluster obtained from clustering schemes are usually random. Thus, some clusters possess a large number of elements whereas others only have a few members. In some areas such as logistics management, a fixed number of members are preferred for each cluster or logistic center. Consequently, it is necessary to design a clustering method that can automatically adjust the number of group elements. In this paper, a k-means based clustering method with a fixed number of cluster members is proposed. In the proposed method, first, the data samples are clustered using the k-means algorithm. Then, the number of group elements is adjusted by employing a greedy strategy. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed clustering scheme can classify data samples efficiently for a fixed number of cluster members.

The previous key management methods are not appropriate for secure data communication in cluster-based routing scheme. Because cluster heads are elected in every round and communicate with the member nodes for authentication and share-key establishment phase in the cluster. In addition, there are not considered to mobility of nodes in previous key management mechanisms. In this paper, we propose the secure and effective key management mechanisim in the cluster-based routing scheme that if there are no share keys between cluster head and its nodes, we create the cluster key using authentication with base station or trust autentication and exchange the their information for a round.
Structures of unprotonated [(NH3)n+(n = 1-6)] and protonated [NH4+(NH3)n-1(n = 1-6)] ammonia cluster cations have been optimized with ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and second-order MФller-Plesset (MP2)/6-31+G ** levels and the harmonic vibrational frequencies have also been evaluated. In unprotonated cluster cations, NH3+ forms as a central core of the first ammonia solvation shell. In protonated cluster cations, NH4+ forms as a central core. In unprotonated dimer and trimer cations, there are two types of isomers (hydrogen-bonded and head-to-head interactions). In both cluster cations, the hydrogen-bonded isomers are more stable. In the hydrogen-bonded dimer cation, the proton transfer reaction takes place from (NH3-HN+H2) to (NH4+-NH2). But in the other unprotonated cluster cations, the proton transfer does not take place. In unprotonated pentamer and hexamer, a NH3+ core has both interactions in a complex. On the other hand, in unprotonated tetramer a core has only the hydrogen-bonded type combined with neutral ammonia molecules. With increasing cluster cation size, the bond lengths [R(NN)] between two nitrogen atoms and the distances [R(N ...H)] of the hydrogen-bond increase reg-ularly. In the calculated infra-red absorption bands for ammonia cluster cations, the characteristic peaks of the bridged NH vibration of the hydrogen-bonded clusters appear near 2500 cm-1 . With increasing size, the peaks shift from 2306 cm-1 to 2780 cm-1 .
