Multi-factors Bidding method for Job Dispatching in Hybrid Shop Floor Control System

  • A shop floor can be considered as and importand level to develop a Computer Integrated Manufacturing system (CIMs). The shop foor is a dynamic environment where unexpected events contrinuously occur, and impose changes to planned activities. The shop floor should adopt an appropriate control system that is responsible for scheduling coordination and moving the manufacturing material and information flow. In this paper, the architecture of the hybrid control model identifies three levels; i.e., the shop floor controller (SFC), the cell controller(CC) and the equipment controller (EC). The methodology for developing these controller is employ an object-oriented approach for static models and IDEF0 for function models for dispatching a job. SFC and CC are coordinated by employing a multi-factors bidding and an adapted Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) prove applicability of the suggested method. Test experiment has been conducted by with the shopfloor, consisting of six manufacturing cells.

  • STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product Data)은 제품데이타의 표현 및 교환에 관한 국제표준으로서, 특정 시스템에 관계없이 제품생산에 관계된 정보를 표현할 수 있는 중립표준을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. STEP은 화일교환을 위한 중립표준을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 , 제품데이타베이스를 수현하는 기반을 제공한다. 따라서, 향후 STEP은 좁은 의미 로서는 시스템간의 데이타 교환의 표준으로,넓은 의미로서는 컴퓨터통합 생사시스템(CIMS) 의 구현시 정보모델의 근간으로 사용될 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 STEP을 이용하여 CAD의 형상정보와 특징형상정보를 변환하는 변환기를 개발하였다. 변환기의 개발은 크게 3단계로 나뉘어 지는데, 1) STEP에서 제정한 데이타 정의어인 EXPRESS를 이용하여 각 CAD 시스템에서 사용하는 포멧을 따라 형상정보및 특징형상정보의 스키마를 모델링하는 단계 2) 실제데이터를 이용하여 모델링된 스키마에 맴핑(mapping0하는 단계, 3) 피니컬 화일로 변환하는 단계를 거치게 된다. 이글에서는 STEP을 이용한 특징형상정보의 호환을 위한 변환기의 구조를 제안하고, EXPRESS를 이용한 스키마 모델링 및 특징형상 정보의 변환사례를 소개한다.

Experimental Study for the Identification of the Nascent Product of OH Heterogeneous Reaction with NaCl using Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry

  • An experimental study on the nascent product of the OH heterogeneous reaction with NaCl was performed under dry and wet conditions using a bead-filled flow tube system coupled to a high-pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometer. The ozone concentration in the flow tube for the atomic hydrogen removal was varied in order to control the conversion reaction of molecular chlorine into HCl for the identification of the nascent product. The mass spectrometric observation was that the $O_3$ introduction reduced the concentration HCl, while it increased the concentration of $Cl_2$ and ClO. Based on the experimental results, we suggest that the nascent product of the titled reaction is gaseous $Cl_2$, which is followed by fast conversion into HCl in presence of H. No significant difference in the concentration profile between under dry and wet (RH = 2%) conditions was observed.

  • The key competition factor of manufacturing industries has progressively changed from cost to quality and time. Recently, the manufacturing environments more rapidly change than before. So, many companies want to introduce a advanced manufacturing system like CIMS to meet various user's needs and short delivery. But there is a considerable gap between the decision to invest and the achievement of promised benefits. Managers, generally, cannot afford CIM invesment unless they can determine beforehand that CIM will work in thier company and that will provide a coherent strategy and satisfactory return on investment In many cases, it is impossible to justify CIM investment by only economical analysis. Decision making problems like CIM investment are of a multiple objective nature. So, decision making process and multiattribute utility function are very useful methods to evaluate CIM justification In this paper, we described the key functions of CIM justification evaluation using IDEF methodology and developed the applicattion procedure of DMP and MUF method for CIM justification.

  • 급변하는 기업 환경에 적절히 대응하여 기업의 궁극적인 목적인 이윤 추구의 극대화를 위해서는 단순한 노동생산성 향상, 국부적인 개선/합리화, 일부분의 전산화, 단위 공정의 자동화 등을 통한 부문별(기능별) 자동화로는 생산성 향상에 한계가 있을 것으로 여겨진다. 보다 체계적이고 종 합적으로 관련 업무를 추진하려면 진단 업무를 통하여 대상부문의 문제점들을 도출하여 그 문 제점들을 종합적으로 해결하는 차원에서 일관성 있게 추진하여야 될 것이다. 이러한 진단 활동을 통하여 체계적이고 효율적인 생산 시스템을 구축하려면 관련된 모든 부문의 현상 파악 및 문 제점 도출에 직접적으로 지원을 할 수 있는 핵심 요원으로 구성된 전담 추진 팀을 구성함은 물 론이고 전문 기관 또는 학계와 공동으로 추진하는 것이 효율적일 것으로 여겨진다. 현대중공업 에서는 이러한 요구에 적절히 대응하기 위하여 엔진사업본부의 POPICS와 플랜트 사업본부의 PINES가 학계와 공동연구로 추진 중에 있다. 이러한 일련의 TFT 활동을 통해 좋은 결실을 얻기 위해서는 참여하는 핵심 요원은 물론이고 해당되는 부문의 모든 임직원의 Mind 형성 및 적극적인 참여가 절실히 요구된다. 또한, 이와 같은 사업본부 단위의 대형 과제를 추진하려면 시스템화 지향이 우선 전제되어야 하기 때문에 부분적인 최적화 노력보다는 전체적인 접근이 필요할 것이다.

조선 CIM의 두가지 특성

  • 컴퓨터 통합생산(CIM : Computer Integrated Manufacturing)이라고 부르는 새로운 생산방식은 재조산업의 경쟁력을 확보하는 수단의 하나로 여겨지고 있어 많은 연구가 진행중에 있다[6]. 우리나라의 기술수준을 선진국의 수준으로 오리겠다는 목표로 추진중인 G7 프로젝트에도 '첨단 생산시스템'이라는 과제가 있어 많은 예산과 인력이 투입되고 있다 [14]. 조선산업에서도 생산 성을 향상시키는 방안으로CIM을 구축하고자 하는 노력이 진행중이며 [15], 일본에서 조선, CIMS 과제가 추진되고 있고 [2,3,5,8], 우리나라에도 CSDP 과제가 수년간 계속되고 있다. [11]. 하지만 CIM이라는 시스템이 아직까지는 목표로서 존재하며, 이제 조금씩 그 실체가 형성되고 있고 아직도 계속 연구개발의 대상이다. 이 글에서는 조선CIM의 성격을 규정해 보기 위하여 유사한 시스템들과 조선 CIM을 비교하였다 [4,7,9,12 ]. 이러한 분석 작업은 앞으로 조선 CIM 시스템 개발에 도움이 될 것이다.

  • Grinding is considered as a very effective machining technology to attain high production rates and a good surface quality of hard and brittle components. However, the grinding operations till needs the skill and the experience of an operator because of a lack of scientific knowledge and engineering principles. This is the reason why grinding operations are not completley intergrated in CIMS(Computer Intergrated Manufacturing System. Recent develop- ment focus on expert system which deals with domain specific knowledge in order to solve this problem. Firstly, in this study, a basic strategy to develop the grinding knowledge-base for grinding is discussed. Next, the architecture of knowledge-base and management of the grinding knowledge-base(GKB) is described.

  • This paper has developed the computer integration manufacturing system and Internet based tele-operations. The functions of CIMS include production planing, material requirement planning, work order generation, process control, quality control, shipping planning, warehouse and inventory management and material cost accounting.[1] In this paper focuses on the automatic warehouse control and inventory management by developing the information system as well as the Internet-based integration. The system overview is divided into three parts, the mechanical system, the computer and developed software to control and manage the information and the communication system. The mechanical system consists of the warehouse machine and forklift mobile robot controlled by programmable logic controller (PLC). The computer works on many functions such as control station interfaces with PLC, managing database and inventory, and Internet server to broadcast the inventory database to users via World Wide Web and monitoring the operation on web camera. Our scheme the inventory database can be checked easily anywhere and anytime when the users connect to the Internet. In this article, the lead-time and inventory level can be reduced therefore the holding cost and operating time is also decreased.

  • An industrial process is a sequence of steps intended to perform a useful task in an industrial organization, and can be described using a model or a representation framework such as function model, information model, process flow model, etc. Many researchers, however, claim that, all those models from different perspectives are required to describe complex systems such as CIMS. Thus these perspectives should be put together to build an optimal system. And the need for interconnection or transformation among different view points has arisen for effective communications between system developers and easy propogation of local changes in a model. But it seems to be difficult to integrate such models into a unified framework as they describe different aspects of the system on different purposes. This study is an attempt to interconnect these different perspectives, and thereby to support conceptual design of systems in a more effective manner. A methodology to transform the IDEFO functional model into a process flow model is proposed. The validity of the proposed approach is tested by developing a prototye of a computer-assisted design system on the operation processes of FMS installed at Seoul National University - Automation and Systems Research Institute.
