Importance Analysis of SCM Adoption Factors (SCM 도입 요인 중요도 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze the importances of various SCM adoption factors suggested in precedent researches with AHP. SCM adoption factors were categorized by four types: organization factor, transaction factor, relation factor, and information factor. Each factor has sub-factors. Organization factor has five sub-factors: adoption strategy, support of CEO, maturity of information technology, development of assessment system, and innovation leadership. Transaction factor has three sub-factors: transaction period, delivery/quality, and shared goal. Relation factor has five sub-factors: trust, collaboration, inter-dependence, conflict, and immersion. Information factor has three sub-factors: information quality, information share, and information exchange. There are sixteen sub-factors altogether. Analyzing the importances of SCM adoption factors with AHP, the importance of organization factor(.387) ranked the highest. Relation factor(.291), information factor(.167), and transaction factor(.155) followed. Putting the analysis results of primary hierarchy factors and secondary hierarchy factors together, support of CEO(.169) ranked the highest and trust(.124), adoption strateg (.089), share goal(.081), information exchange(.069), collaboration(.064), and information share (.057) followed.

A Study on the uTradeHub Acceptance Factors Effecting upon the System Usefulness and User Satisfaction (uTradeHub 수용요인이 시스템 유용성과 사용자 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This research herein aims to assist maximizing performance of introduced systems by managing the acceptance factor of uTradeHub that is easily overlooked in the system installation process by trading companies aiming to install uTradeHub system in future by conducting the two following things: i) grasping factors affecting system usefulness and user satisfaction derived from uTradeHub acceptance factor, and ii) analyzing the effect relationship of system usefulness on user satisfaction at an inspection level of system usefulness and user satisfaction, since the uTradeHub system introduced for mid- and small-sized trading companies in export and import works in mid-2008. Proof analysis was conducted by using SPSS 19.0 statistic package on data of 112 effective responses collected through questionnaire surveys, whose results are as follows. First, the uTradeHub acceptance factors having a significant effect on system usefulness are relative advantage, easy of use, task adaptedness, support of CEO, maturity of IT infrastructures, and degree of education/training. Second, the uTradeHub acceptance factors having an effect on user satisfaction are relative advantages, task adaptedness, support of CEO, maturity of IT infrastructures, and degree of education/training. Third, system usefulness showed a significant effect on user satisfaction.

A Study on Corporate Social Responsibility of Construction Companies (건설기업의 사회공헌활동에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR hereafter) of construction companies, especially focusing on small-medium companies. Surveys on construction companies' CSR activities and intensive interview with experts were executed to analyze and draw some implications. The empirical results shows that most of construction companies feel keenly necessity of CSR. The level of small-medium companies' awareness is lower than that of large companies'. CEO and board members of small-medium companies are less concerned about CSR yet. Carrying CSR activities co-working with NGO is preferred because of expertise and network. This study also suggests future strategy for CSR in the construction industry, focusing on small-medium companies. First of all it is necessary for small-medium companies to enhance the level of awareness and encourage participation in CSR. Second, it is required to strengthen relation with NGO and share information for CSR. Third, it is really significant to strengthen budget support and secure personnel to activate CSR. The systematic support by gevernment is also important. Lastly, it is essential to mount a publicity campaign and develop various CSR program. The role of 'Construction Industry Foundation for Social Responsibility' is emphasized because small-medium companies have very little room for CSR.

A Study on the Effects of BSC System Acceptance Factors on the Intention for Continuous Use (BSC 시스템 수용요인이 지속적 사용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to make an empirical analysis on the factors affecting the intention for the continuous use of the BSC system, which has been recently spread in the public sector. Because the object of acceptance is the performance management system based on BSC (Balanced Scorecard) implemented in the form of information systems, this study proposes a research model by applying TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). Independent variables are factors affecting the acceptance of BSC system such as training, communication, IS support, CEO support and personal innovativeness, and we examine their effects on the dependent variable, namely, intention on continuous use via mediating variables: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. A questionnaire survey was conducted with public institutions(firms) that had introduced and were operating the BSC system; 264 valid questionnaires are adopted. Collected data are analyzed using SPSS 16.0 and AMOS 7.0. Results of reliability test show that all analyzed data are reliable. In validity test, one item regarding communication was excluded; 9 latent variables and 34 observed variables are used in the final analysis. Based on the results of the hypothesis test through path analysis using a structural equation model, 10 out of 16 hypotheses are accepted. Factors affecting perceived usefulness are training and IS(Information System) support. The analysis results indicate that perceived ease of use is mainly affected by IS support, CEO support, and personal innovativeness among the factors related to the acceptance of the BSC system. This suggests that, contrary to the expectation that the BSC system may be used without difficulty, the management's active support is required in order to attain expected improvement in productivity and work efficiency. This was also pointed out in case studies on the construction of the BSC system in public sectors. On the other hand, perceived ease of use is found to affect perceived usefulness. This supports the results of previous researches on TAM. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are found to affect the attitude towards the use of the system. The intention on continuous use is affected more by perceived usefulness than by the attitude towards the use of system. This result supports the results of previous researches on TAM, showing that the BSC system is utilized substantially in worksites. This study is considered meaningful in that it was actually performed on users at public institutions(firms) that had introduced the BSC system and that it empirically tested hypotheses on the acceptance of the BSC system by applying TAM to the research model.

  • A lot of factor effects on the enterprise's innovation and business performance, for instance CEO and members intention etc.. Niehoff et al. says, The success factors of innovation enterprise's management lead to members of vision, innovation, innovation activities and support for an aggressive attitude of the enterprise members. However, today's products consumers wanted diverse and complex needs. CEO and members of the enterprise has been the diversity effort. The increase cost savings as well as in the profit improve factors that enterprise's participated a education and training, Subgroup activities, process quality, eliminate waste, improve yields, lead time reduction, process capability increasing, ets. This paper is a report of an empirical survey performed to 277 small and medium-sized enterprise in the korea. Cronbach's alpha coefficient is employed to analyze the reliability of the data. The effect analysis of each group is performed by the SEM(structural equation model). We use the SPSS' Amos program to analyze the equation modeling and test the hypotheses of the model.

  • This paper aims to examine the moderate effects of Client's Organizational Character on the relationships between Consulting Service Quality and Business Performance. To accomplish these purposes, The questionaries of 192 were inspected to the CEO or PM having consulting experience at the companies in Daegu and kyoung-buk. First, Consulting Service Quality presented a meaningful result(+) with the Business Performance. Second, Consulting Service Quality have differential influence on Business Performance by Client' s Organizational Character.

How Firms Transfer Financial Risks to Employees: Stock Price Volatility and CEO Power

  • Purpose - We investigate how firms transfer financial risks to employees in a form of flexible employment contracts and layoffs. Design/methodology/approach - Based on the literature on the prevalence of shareholder value ideology and the associated 'risk shift', we examined how stock price volatility is associated with a firm's use and hiring of nonstandard employees, and the number of employees lay-offed. We test our hypotheses using a longitudinal, multi-source, dataset of Korean firms from 2003 to 2011. Findings - We found support for the relationship between stock price volatility and flexible employment contracts and layoffs after controlling for actual risks such as increased debt or decreased sales. However, we found that the relationship is moderated by the power of professional CEOs relative to that of shareholders, in that powerful CEOs are more likely to transfer the external risks, i.e. stock price volatility, to employees. Research implications or Originality - This study contributes the emerging stream of literature that explore the effect of stock market pressures and governance structures on human resource management.

The Effect of Board Composition and Ownership Structure on Firm Value: Evidence from Jordan

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of the composition of the board and ownership structure on a firm's value in Jordanian firms. Specifically, it aims to determine the effect of board size, (CEO) duality, and family, foreign, institutional, and government ownership on a firm's value. An ordinary least square regression (OLS) was employed to examine the study hypotheses in a sample of 35 Jordanian industrial firms (175 firm-year observation) for a period of five years from 2016-2020. As measured by Tobin's Q (Q ratio) and market-to-book (MB ratio) for Jordanian industrial firms listed on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). The result found that foreign ownership, institutional ownership, and family ownership have a significant and positive effect on firm value. By contrast, government ownership does not have a significant effect on firm value. With respect to board composition (CEO duality and board size), the study results found no evidence to support the effect of board composition on firm value. The study recommended the concerned authorities with several recommendations, most notably: taking the necessary measures to ensure the continuity and growth of family businesses because of their positive impact on the value of the company and economic growth, spreading awareness about how governance protects the interests of investors.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how the vendor suitability factor affects ERP introduction factors of domestic small and middle businesses and internal performance. When domestic firms introduce an ERP package, they mostly use the package already developed by ERP firms. Therefore, this study tried to analyze that the suitability factor of an ERP package supplier serves as a moderating role for ERP internal performance. The study result showed that the vendor suitability factor played a moderating role for ERP introduction factors and internal performance. In other words, the vendor suitability factor served a moderating role for four factors -CEO support, education/training, users' IT capability, and business standardization /formulation- and internal performance. But, it was analyzed that the vendor suitability factor didn't serve as a moderating role for IT infrastructure and internal performance.

  • The purposes of the study are as follows; First, to find out valid variables from preceding studies which expedite and revitalize the electronic information sharing between shipping company and container terminal and (to) verify the effect empirically. Second, to examine the impacts of electronic information sharing between shipping company and container terminal on performance by empirical research. The results are as follows; First, the degree of support by the CEO, the stage of information technology infrastructure, committment and dependence were proved as valid factors affecting the electronic information sharing between shipping company and container terminal. Second, it was proved that the electronic information sharing between shipping company and container terminal has influenced on the performance.
