Character Recognition of Low Resolution CCTV Images of Sewer Inspection (저해상도 하수관로 CCTV조사 영상의 문자인식)

  • Recent frequent occurrence of urban sinkhole serves as a momentum of the periodic inspection of sewer pipelines. Sewer inspection using a CCTV device needs a lot of time and efforts. Many of previous studies which reduce the laborious tasks are mainly interested in the developments of image processing S/W and inspection H/W. However there has been no attempt to find meaningful information from the existing CCTV images stored by the sewer maintenance manager. This study adopts a cross-correlation based image processing method and extracts location data of sewer inspection device from CCTV images. As a result of the analysis of time-location relation, it shows strong correlation between the device's stand times and the sewer damages. In case of using this method to investigate sewer inspection CCTV images, it will save the investigator's efforts and improve the sewer maintenance efficiency and reliability.

A Study on college student's cognition survey about CCTV in education facilities (교육시설내 CCTV에 대한 대학생의 인식조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze various categories such as the recognition, expectation and acceptability of CCTV use in educational facilities by doing a survey on how college students think about the CCTV installed in educational facilities. For this research, diverse existing surveys regarding CCTV were examined, and the appropriate elements of survey questions were extracted and developed. Based on this method, we intend to complete a survey study hereafter on the change in perception regarding CCTV inspection. We made four hypotheses before the survey and the results of the survey are as follows: First, the expectations for CCTV's ability to reduce crime were high. Second, the fears about being a victim of theft or violence crime were decreased. Third, there were a number of respondents who would weigh more on increased safety by installing a CCTV rather than be concerned that CCTV may lead to the violation of students' human rights. Fourth, there showed a difference in recognizing CCTV among three groups. Also, for the questions regarding the places where CCTV is installed, there were many negative opinions on its installation in the student convenient facilities. What we have achieved was not a simple survey which investigates the pros and cons about CCTV use, but a newly suggested way of survey, which enables us to test various hypotheses and figure out the changing perceptions on CCTV effectiveness in educational facilities with more efficiency.

Development of Automatic Mapping Algorithm using CCTV Information based on Geo-spatial Information (공간정보기반 CCTV 제원정보 자동 매핑 알고리즘 개발)

  • Database construction of basic elements for displaying CCTV informations(the location, direction, distance, maximum distance, Tele mode angle view, Wide mode angle view, etc.) is conducted by complete survey about CCTV information in model area. Automatic mapping algorithm is suggested to schematize and visualize it on the basic of the investigated CCTV informations. In the result, the CCTV locations in partial areas are duplicated on about 11 percents. Duplicated ones among twelve CCTVs are total five. If the redesign of CCTV location and direction by displaying the CCTV informations based on the suggested algorithm is performed, it can be used as scientific explanations.

  • 본 논문에서는 교육시설내의 CCTV 설치에 따른 인식의 변화를 조사하기 위한 설문지의 작성요소를 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 기존의 다양한 CCTV 관련 설문을 분석하고 이를 통해 적절한 설문 문항 요소를 추출하거나 개발하여 이를 통한 향후 인식변화에 대한 연구를 완성하고자 한다. 설문 문항 작성에서 CCTV 인지성, 기대성, 수용성 등으로 구분하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 개발된 설문에 의해 교육시설 내 CCTV에 대한 설치효과에 대한 다양한 가설의 검증과 인식의 변화를 효과적으로 파악하는 자료를 제시하게 되었다.

Estimation of Traffic Volume Using Deep Learning in Stereo CCTV Image (스테레오 CCTV 영상에서 딥러닝을 이용한 교통량 추정)

  • Traffic estimation mainly involves surveying equipment such as automatic vehicle classification, vehicle detection system, toll collection system, and personnel surveys through CCTV (Closed Circuit TeleVision), but this requires a lot of manpower and cost. In this study, we proposed a method of estimating traffic volume using deep learning and stereo CCTV to overcome the limitation of not detecting the entire vehicle in case of single CCTV. COCO (Common Objects in Context) dataset was used to train deep learning models to detect vehicles, and each vehicle was detected in left and right CCTV images in real time. Then, the vehicle that could not be detected from each image was additionally detected by using affine transformation to improve the accuracy of traffic volume. Experiments were conducted separately for the normal road environment and the case of weather conditions with fog. In the normal road environment, vehicle detection improved by 6.75% and 5.92% in left and right images, respectively, than in a single CCTV image. In addition, in the foggy road environment, vehicle detection was improved by 10.79% and 12.88% in the left and right images, respectively.

  • Recently, increasing number of urban ground subsidence occurrences has been identified. This situation is mainly due to the increased number of underground cavities. This study is intended to develop the method that prevents ground settlement caused by deteriorated or damaged sewers, which are the main cause of land subsidence. To that end, GPR exploration was conducted using CCTV monitoring of deteriorated sewer at the location with high settlement potential. Through such CCTV monitoring and GPR investigation, abnormal ground behavior was monitored at the site where sewer was damaged, joint was cracked and soil was deposited. According to site investigation in this study, evaluation method using correlation analysis of CCTV monitoring and GPR investigation results is expected to prevent ground settlement attributable to damaged sewer.

Sewer CCTV Inspection Prioritization Based on Risk Assessment (위험도 기반의 하수관로 CCTV 조사 우선순위 결정 연구)

  • Most sewer lines buried in the city are likely to be collapsed due to serious aging. Also, due to the high concentration of development and high population density and traffic, the collapse of the sewer will cause enormous social and economic damage. Therefore, proactive maintenance is required to prevent accidents caused by deteriorated sewer pipe. In order to utilize limited budget effectively, risk-based prioritization methods should be proposed that simultaneously consider the consequence of failure and the probability of failure. In this study, the method of risk-based prioritization of sewer was examined by reviewing various cases of overseas studies and applied to the urban sub-catchment. First, the impact factors that can be secured through the sewer GIS DB in Seoul were derived, and the weight, sub-criteria, and impact score of each impact factor were determined and the consequence of failure was calculated by weight sum method. In addition, the probability of failure was calculated by dividing the service life by the estimated useful life, and the consequence of failure and the probability of failure were classified into five grades by the Jenks natural breaks classification method. The prioritization method was applied to sub-catchment in the Seoul to derive a risk matrix and a risk grade. As a result, 26% of all subjects were selected as the inspection priority subjects with 4-5 risk grade. Therefore, using the risk-based CCTV prioritization methodology, it will be possible to systematically determine the objects that need investigation first.

  • According to the survey of Ministry of the Interior and Safety in Korea, The number of public and private CCTV reached over ten million and is still increasing. Also with improving Image Processing Technology, it is possible to obtain diverse information. Recently, various services using CCTV are being provided. Therefore it is necessary to ensure CCTV image integrity. However there is no system to prove events in film yet. In this paper, we suggest system model that can manage, use and authenticate CCTV. This model allows a CCTV film to be verified by other nearby CCTVs' data. This model ensures film's integrity by using blockchain. And also, It addresses privacy problem in CCTV and file size problem in blockchain by using not large film data but much smaller analyzed data.

  • 범죄발생의 공간특성을 고려하지 않고, 방범 CCTV에 대한 체계적인 설치계획과 위치, 타당성 검증에 위한 과학적 분석은 전무한 상태에서 주민들의 민원이 빈발하는 지역 등에 CCTV를 중점적으로 설치하는 경우가 대부분인 실정이다. 본 연구는 효율적인 범죄예방을 위해 GIS 공간분석 기반의 표준화된 인위적 감시도구(CCTV) 설치위치 평가 방법론을 정립하기 위한 기초연구로서, 선행연구 및 법 가이드라인 조사를 통해 설문지를 기반으로 통계 분석 및 전문가 회의를 거쳐 CCTV 설치위치 분석을 위한 평가지표를 도출하였다.

  • In this paper, we watch out key measure of the level of transportation service about travel time and delay time. And we measured vehicle traffic by moving vehicle method using CCTV which is one of the travel time measure. We should be measured in place of continuous traffic flow characteristics with wide traffic light interval. In addition, traffic flow on the other side of the interval must be sufficiently identifiable and at the end of this section must be possible U-turn. This method it requires only the driver of the vehicle because of the CCTV measure. In addition, We cannot require time, distance, and traffic equipment that can be recorded. Because equipped with the software to do that. In addition to traffic, average travel time, average space speed, traffic density are also available.
