As CBR(Chemical, Biological, and Radiological) attack increases, the importance of CBR protective facilities is being emphasized. When CBR warfare emerges, a task force team, who exist outside of CBR protective facility, should enter the CBR protective facility through neutralizing process in CCA(Contamination Control Area) and TFA(Toxic Free Area). If a bottleneck occurs in the process or zones, the task force team cannot enter the CBR protective facility efficiently and may cause inefficiency in its operation performance or result in casualties. The current design criteria of the CBR protective facility is only limited to ventilation system and it does not consider how much time it takes to enter the facility. Therefore, this research aims to propose the entering time estimation model with discrete event simulation. To make the simulation model, the procedure performed through CCA and TFA is defined and segmented. The actual time of the procedure are measured and adapted for the simulation model. After running the simulation model, variables effecting the entering time are selected for alternatives with adjustments. This entering time estimation model for CBR protective facility is expected to help take time into consideration during the designing phase of CBR protective facility and help CBR protective facility managers to plan facility operation in a more realistic approach.

An expert system DESPRESS is developed to diagnose the fault of press by using CBR technique. In this paper, we describes the subjects for development of the system. DESPRESS deals compositly with perceptive symptoms, functional abnormalities, lamp signals and gage values, and then outputs fault parts and fault status for the press. The expert system can be used to prevent occurance of unexpected fault and minimize break times for failures.

As we move from the industrial age to the information age, domestic industries are changing rapidly, and rural society is also laying the foundation to make use of information technologies. Through this kind of modernization, the size of agricultural facilities has been increasing on a significant scale. But, in reality, there are many difficulties in the maintenance of agricultural facilities in proportion to their growing number. Accordingly, this research aims to solve the fundamental problems that occur with agricultural facilities in the maintenance stage. In addition, it aims to provide information on how to maintain and manage facilities for farmers. The presentation of the maintenance information was conducted using a case-based reasoning method that solves current problems based on past cases. The tool of case-based reasoning was applied to define the establishment of the base for cases, characteristic variables and maintenance measures. The effectiveness of a CBR model was examined through the case study. The use of the case-based reasoning method is judged to be effective as a tool to support the decisions of farmers regarding maintenance. When the maintenance measures derived through the CBR model are offered to farmers, the fundamental problems of maintaining agricultural facilities will be solved, and the damage to such facilities minimized.

As Construction & Demolition(C&D) debris increase every year, a system has enforced for recycled aggregate made out of C&D debris, then recycled aggregate usage increased in construction field. But as environmental problem by alkalinity of recycled aggregate occurred, the study for lowering alkalinity of recycled aggregate is needed. In this study we made alkalinity reducing facility and installed in the C&D debris midterm-treat field. Then we certified effect of lowering alkalinity and quality of recycled aggregates before and after carbonation. As a result, the most effective carbonation condition is 30seconds in carbonation time, -50~100 kPa of reaction pressure with change of 3cycles. This condition made pH 9.33~9.8 of recycled aggregate possible. The quality of recycled aggregate after carbonation was better than before carbonation in terms of plasticity index, modified CBR, abrasion loss, sand equivalent, liquid limit, size distribution, density and water absorption.

Upon encountering weathering soil at a construction site, it may be necessary to change the design and construction plans for geotechnical structures. When weathering soil is exposed to air, the weathering process proceeds rapidly, resulting in significant damage to geotechnical structures, particle defects, and an increase in moisture sensitivity. The management of weathering-soil compaction is challenging. Because the engineering properties of weathering-soils vary regionally, it is important to report the result of research into the regional characteristics of such soils. At two locations of granite gneiss in the Gansung area of Gangwon-do, geological studies were performed at 22 and 8 sites, respectively. At each site, test samples were collected for analysis by XRD and to measure particle size, consistency, and compaction. To evaluate the suitability of the material for road subgrade, we examined the interrelationship between CBR value and the uniformity coefficient, the 200 sieve passing ratio and the aggregate ${\geq}$ 2 mm) content. We found that for the weathered granite soil, aggregate sized > 2 mm has a significant effect on the CBR value. In addition, the mixing of aggregate sized > 2 mm with sub-quality soil improves the soil condition.

The The purpose of this study is to develop survival kit prepared at the outbreak of the civil defense situation and to explore ways to ensure the safety and well-being of the people. Consider the civil defense shelters in a short two hours, from six days to live long, emergency life support food and other items needed for the basic right to life of the facility users. Minimum survival kit per capita personal weight 4.85kg, state and local governments (the government) is 2.65kg. They consists of a total of 26 items in eight categories such as food, clothing, CBR supplies, cold winter supplies, personal hygiene supplies, medicines, tools, communication supplies.

This study was carried out to establish the standard of sub-base facility which can strengthen road surface bearing capacity for smooth passage of logging trucks in forest road as the size of the logging truck has been increased in order to improve the efficiency of timber transportation. The results of reinforcement effect analysis of the surface bearing capacity by the thickness of sub-base prepared with the optimum aggregate mix ratio using geosynthetics for forest road on the soft ground in the Forest Technology and Management Research Center are as follows. The surface bearing capacity of CBR exceeding 15% was found to be sufficient when the sub-base was constructed over 0.2 m depth of laying gravels with installation of geosynthetics after digging out subsoil. However, there is no significant difference in reinforcement effect of surface bearing capacity by types of geosynthetics. And, it was found that the surface bearing capacity was insufficient in the installation of sub-base. Therefore, in the case of soft ground, It is possible to secure the reinforcement of the surface bearing capacity for the smooth passage of heavy logging trucks by sub-base, that was constructed over 0.2 m depth of laying gravels with installation of geosynthetics after digging out subsoil.

A remote monitoring panel and control system was developed to control various valves and access control chambers, including gas shutoff valves used in CBR(Chemical, Biological and Radiological) facilities. The remote monitoring panel consisted of a main panel installed in the NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) control room and auxiliary panel installed in the clean room, and the size was divided into pure control and control including CCTV. This system can be monitored and controlled remotely according to the situation where an explosion door and gas barrier door can occur during war and during normal times. This system is divided into normal mode and war mode. In particular, it periodically senses the operation status of various valves, sensors, and filters in the CBR facilities to determine if each apparatus and equipment is in normal operation, and remotely alerts situation workers when repair or replacement is necessary. Damage due to the abnormal operation of each device in the situation can be prevented. This enables control of the blower, supply and exhaust damper, emergency generator, and coolant pump according to the state of shutoff valve and positive pressure valve in the occurrence of NBC, and prevents damage caused by abrupt inflow of conventional weapons and nuclear explosions.

Operating system of CBRNE(Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-yield explosive)) weapon in North Korea has reached an internationally significant level. In preparation against the CBRNE weapon attack, the US is securing various forms of defense shelters and operating it based on classification by disaster characteristics. However, it is currently difficult to expect an efficient protective ability from South Korea due to the reckless designation of defense shelters without consideration of disaster characteristics. At this, this study examined the present condition of formerly used facilities, analyzed the characteristics of each facilities for the sorting of defense shelters that are possible of conversion into shelter against CBRNE weapon, and presented results and proposals gained through this study research.

This study explores the potential for tritium production in North Korea's 5MWe graphite-moderated reactor, a facility primarily associated with nuclear weapons material production. While existing research on these reactors has largely centered on plutonium, our focus shifts to tritium, a crucial element in boosted fission bombs. Utilizing the MCNP6 code for simulations, the results estimate that North Korea can possibly produce approximately 7-12 g of tritium annually. This translates to the potential production of 1-3 boosted fission bombs each year. By incorporating tritium production into assessments of North Korea's nuclear capabilities, our methodology provides insights into the dynamics of the country's nuclear force, revealing a more diversified and complex composition than previously assumed. The findings significantly aid policymakers, regulatory bodies, and researchers in comprehending potential proliferation risks associated with graphite-moderated reactors and in developing strategies to address the nuclear threat emanating from North Korea.
