  • To save efforts for capping in the compressive strength tests of concrete, unbonded capping system has been standardized by ASTM C 1231 and AS 1012.9, respectively. These standards, however, do not sufficiently give a full detail of accessories such as steel retaining cap and rubber pad, especially hardness of rubber. Hence, without testing for sizes of steel retaining cap and rubber pad, tests for the quality control of rubber pads were conducted in detail according to Japanese studies. Based on tests, the range of hardness for rubber pad by the compressive strength(200~ 400kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$) of concrete has been proposed and the guideline of reuses of a rubber pad is described.

  • The far-zone magnetic field patterns of a E-plane horn antenna with various edge structures are analyzed using UTD. The ray tracing method is used to lacate the shadow boundaries, and then GO and UTD are utilized to evaluate the incident, reflected, diffracted, surface diffaracted, and the second order diffracted, diffracted-reflected, and diffracted-reflected-diffracted waves existing in each region of interest. By doing this, we analyzed the effects of flanges or caps connected on the edge of a horn antenna on the side lobe and back lobe levels. Also, the validity of this paper is proved by comparing the analytical results with those of measurement and method of moment presented in the reference.

  • This paper is the result of research about what imply the symbolic significance of the shamna's costume in Siberia and Central Asia by using plates, medias and exhibitions in JNME. The reselts of the present study are summarized as follows; 1) The researcher define the shamanism as incantation, religious phenomenon centering arround shaman who communicate with the existence of preternatualness by possession or trance. 2) Siberia and Central Asia's shamans are comunicated with the existence of preter naturalness by trance. 3) In Siberia and Central Asia, the shaman's costumes is presented in a shaman ritual are caps, jakets, ornaments, stick and shoes. They symbolize spiritual world, stupendous shaman and powerful animal. 4) A significant symbolic meaning of shaman's costumes is that they change shaman to the existence of preternatualness.

  • In '50, It was turnning point of tunneling technology that v-cut of single Face replaced by Burn cut.. Which was a standard Blasting formula. In '70, We faced Seoul Sub-Way construction by NATM. As it was damages to the Structure on the surface, finally we made empirical formula. For Granite $V=kw^{0.57}D^{1.75}$ For Grneiss $V=KW^{0.5}D^{1.75}$ For Concrete breaker $V=KW^{0.5}D^{1.75}$ (K=7) The magnitude of groun vibration can be reduced as using follow matters. First, by using explosive that have low dencity and low Velocity of detonation. Second adopting two stage deck charging, third, by using Milli Second electric Caps and Multi-Sequency blasting machine.

  • Capillaria hepatica a primary trichuroid nematode parasite in rodents, has been reported in wide range of secondary hosts including humans. We report a rare case of Capillariasis in a 4-year old raccoon dog(Nyctereutes procyonoides) submitted to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Chonbuk National University for necropsy on July 5, 1996. Grossly the thoracic cavity contained approximately 200 mls of blood-tinged exudate. Edematous lesion was present around aorta and vena cava. liver was slightly swollen and mottled and contained multifocal yellowish-white lesions ranging from 1 to 3 mm in diameter. Histologically liver lesions were localized around central veins and were characterized by cell swelling and necrosis with mixed inflammatory cells surrounding parasite eggs. These eggs were barrel-shaped with polar caps consistent with Capillaria hepatica.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide the basic techniques in utilizing the systematic home-rehabilitation service with a Minimum Data Set for Home Care (MDS-HC) 2.0 navigator system. Methods: The present study was conducted with 50 persons receiving home-care services from a Welfare Center. Respondents were selected from urban and rural areas in and around the Wonju area. Results: The results showed that MDS-HC2.0 was useful to evaluate the functional status of disabled persons in the fields of health and home-care services. Furthermore, this navigator system provided basic information about the functional health problems of respondents and therefore can provide guidance for health and home care services for disabled persons. Conclusions: Through the present study, a comprehensive model for health and home-rehabilitation was developed. The author believes that respondents will have the satisfaction of high quality service if the developed model is used as the standard in planning and providing home-rehabilitation services.

  • An irradiation test of a nuclear fuel rod having external and internal tube structure was planned for a performance. To establish fabrication process satisfying the requirements of irradiation test, micro-TIG welding system for fuel rods was developed, and preliminary welding experiments for optimizing process conditions of fuel rod was performed. Fuel rods with 15.9mm diameter and 0.57mm wall thickness of cladding tubes and end caps have been used and optimum conditions of endcap welding have been selected. In this experiment, the qualification test was performed by tensile tests, helium leak inspections, and metallography examinations to qualify the endcap welding procedure. The soundness of the welds quality of a dual cooled fuel rods has been confirmed by mechanical tests and microstructural examinations.

  • Pneumonia remains the leading cause of mortality in children. Diagnosis depends on a combination of factors, including clinical assessment, radiological and laboratory findings. Although Streptococcus pneumoniae remains the most important cause of childhood bacterial pneumonia, the great majority of cases of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) are of viral etiology. A new, rapid, and inexpensive test that differentiates viral from bacterial pneumonia is needed to decide empiric antibiotic treatment. Antibiotics effective against the expected bacterial pathogens should be instituted where necessary. The role of emerging pathogens and the effect of pneumococcal resistance and heptavalent conjugate pneumococcal vaccines are to be considered in practice. There are reports supporting the valid and highly efficacious use of penicillin as a first-line drug for treating CAP. This review raises the issue of the overuse of unnecessary antibiotics in viral CAPs and the use of second or third-line antibiotics for non-complicated pneumonias in most clinical settings.

  • Carrying out first-principles calculations, we study N-doped capped carbon nanotube (CNT) electrodes applied to DNA sequencing. While we obtain for the face-on nucleobase junction configurations a conventional conductance ordering where the largest signal results from guanine according to its high highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) level, we extract for the edge-on counterparts a distinct conductance ordering where the low-HOMO thymine provides the largest signal. The edge-on mode is shown to operate based on a novel molecular sensing mechanism that reflects the chemical connectivity between N-doped CNT caps that can act both as electron donors and electron acceptors and DNA functional groups that include the hyperconjugated thymine methyl group[1].

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic informations of disposable medical clothes and develop new disposable medical clothes which are not caused environmental pollutions. The staffs of Yuhan-Kimberly and doctors, nurses and personnel of four general hospitals in Seoul were interviewed individually in order to collect useful data of disposable clothes. Also the samples of disposable medical clothes were examined. The materials, designs, size of potential market and actual consumption conditions of disposable medical clothes were found out. New disposable medical clothes were made after having considered all the aspects examined above. Two kind of medical gowns and caps, a kind of medical apron, three kinds of patient robes and a kind of patient cap were made of Korean traditional paper with specific functions instead of nonwoven polypropylene fabric.
