  • Test results showed that foaming ratio of autoclaved aerated concrete significantly affected by the CaO/Si2O (C/S) molar ratio of the component materials, indicating the greatest foaming ratio of 202% when the C/S ratio was 0.9.

Calcium Hydroxide에 의한 Silk의 정련 (Degumming of Silk by Calcium hydroxide)

  • 본 논문에서는 Ca(OH)$_2$로 Silk를 정련하기 위해 처리온도, 농도 및 시간별로 처리하여 적정 정련 조건을 알아보았다. 정련 후 세리신을 수용성과 난용성으로 분리하여 수용성 세리신의 평균분자량을 측정하였고 기기분석을 통하여 세리신의 특성을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 연감율은 처리농도, 온도 및 시간을 증가시킬수록 증가하는데 Ca(OH)$_2$ 처리농도가 0.07%, 0.1%일 때에는 처리시간이 길어져도 연감율에 큰 변화를 보이지 않았다. 2. 정련액의 수용성$.$난용성 세리신의 비율은 Ca(OH)$_2$ 농도가 0.04%일 때에는 처리 온도가 높을수록 난용성 세리신의 비율도 높게 나타났고, 0.07%일 때에는 처리 온도 및 시간에 관계없이 수용성 세리신의 비율이 거의 100%를 나타냈다. 0.1%일 때에는 처리 초기의 난용성 세리신의 비율이 높으며 시간이 증가할수록 수용성 세리신의 비율도 증가하였다. 3. 평균 중합도 측정 결과 처리 농도 0.04%, 처리 온도 10$0^{\circ}C$의 경우 10정도의 일정한 평균 중합도 값을 가지며 8$0^{\circ}C$, 9$0^{\circ}C$의 경우는 시간이 증가함에 따라 평균 중합도가 불규칙하게 나타났다. 0.07%의 경우 온도와 시간에 관계없이 10정도의 일정한 값을 나타내고 있으며 처리농도 0.1%일 때 온도 10$0^{\circ}C$의 경우 평균중합도가 20∼30으로 높은 값을 나타내고 있다. 4. 정련후 수용성 세리신의 LAL 정량 결과 정련액에는 LAL 물질이 존재하지 않는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 5. 아미노산 분석 결과 Hydroxy amino acid인 Thr.과 Ser. 및 Tyr.의 함량이 적었고 나머지는 상대적으로 많았다. 6. 수용성 세리신 분말의 DSC 분석 결과 열변성에 의한 흡열피크가 189$^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 나타났고, 열분해 피크는 299$^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 나타났다. 7. Ca(OH)$_2$ 정련된 견사의 강도는 생사의 강도보다 15∼30% 정도 감소하였고, 처리 시간이 길어질수록 강도가 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 8. 정련견의 표면 관찰 결과 연감율이 증가함에 따라 실의 굵기가 가늘어짐을 확인할 수 있었으며 처리 농도가 증가함에 따라 섬유 표면이 거칠게 되어있음을 알 수 있었다.

$Al_2O_3$ 지지 CaO촉매에 의한 식물유와 혼합지방의 바이오디젤화 (Conversion of Vegetable Oils and Mixed Fat into Biodiesel Using $Al_2O_3$-Supported CaO Catalyst)

  • The transesterification of rapeseed oil, soybean oil, and mixed fat were conducted at $65^{\circ}C$ with $Al_2O_3$-supported CaO, 0.8 wt% KOH, 1 wt% NaOH and mixed catalyst. The overall conversion(%) of rapeseed oil indicated to be 96% at the 12:1 molar ratio of methanol to oil, 8 wt% CaO and 2 wt% water. The pH ranges of biodiesel for mixed fat using four catalysts and for three fats using 8wt% CaO were 7.3-9.1, 7.3-7.5, respectively. The volumes of water needed to wash biodiesel from rapeseed oil using 0.8 wt% KOH and 8 wt% CaO were 15 mL and 3 mL.

마그네슘 이온이 적출한 흰쥐 자궁근의 수축성에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Magnesium Ion on the Contractility of the Isolated Rat Uterine Smooth Muscle)

  • The effects of $Mg^{++}$ upon the spontaneous contraction activated by 1 IU/l oxytocin were studied in the isolated rat uterine muscle. Longitudinal muscle strips u·ere prepared from the rat uteri at the estrous stage. All experiments were performed in tris-buffered Tyrode solution which was aerated with 100% $O_2$ and kept at $35^{\circ}C$. The results obtained were as follows: 1) In the uterine strips contracting spontaneously, as $Mg^{++}$ concentration increased in the Tyrode solution the amplitude of peak tension decreased in all the experimental solutions containing the various concentrations of $Ca^{++}\;(0.5{\sim}4 mM)$. And the amplitude of peak tension increased in inverse proportion to the $[Mg^{++}]/[Ca^{++}]\; ratio$. It is suggested that the tension-lowering effect of $Mg^{++}$ would be developed through decreasing intracellular ionized free calcium ion concentration by uncertain mechanism. 2) The frequency of the uterine contraction activated by oxytocin increased as the $[Mg^{++}]/[Ca^{++}]\;ratio$ ratio increased up to 1/2, but the frequency decreased above this ratio. It is speculated that $Mg^{++}$ would influence the excitability control action of $Ca^{++}$.

  • Calcium silicate hydrate(C-S-H) is the principal binding phase that controls the strength and thermal stability of concrete. However, the effects of high temperature on the lattice structure and interatomic structure of C-S-H remains poorly understood due to its nanocrystallinity. This study aims to elucidate the change in interatomic distance of synthetic C-S-H with different Ca/Si molar ratios after exposure to high temperature via high energy X-ray scattering experiment which is a powerful analytical tool for amorphous materials.

Na-Ca-Si-O-N계 Oxynitride Glass의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Properties of Na-Ca-Si-O-N System Oxynitride Glasses)

  • Oxynitride glasses in Na-Ca-Si-O-N system were prepared by melting at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours in N2 gas. The effects of Si/Na mole ratio and the various Si3N4 contents were investigated. Stable oxynitride glasses can be obtained up to 9wt.% Si3N4 content in case the Si/Na mole ratio was 2.12 and 1.62, but $\beta$-Si3N4 was precipitated at 9wt.% Si3N4 content in case the Si/Na mole rtio was 1.12. Density (p), chemical durability, hardness (Hv), and fracture toughness (KIC) increased with increasing Si3N4 content. In cae the Si/Na mole ratio was 1.12, the increment of properties was remarkable but hardness and fracture toughness did not increase no longer owing to precipitation of $\beta$-Si3N4.

  • It is a fundamental study for the hardened bodies of $CaO-SiO_2-H_2O$ system to clear up various physical properties and structures of the products, using the Seosan quartz and $Ca(OH)_2$(C. P. grade) as raw materials. Various samples were obtained by varying $CaO/SiO_2$ mole ratio (0.3∼2.1) and hydrothermal conditions ($100∼220^{\circ}C$ and 2∼14hr.) within the given limit. It was found that tobermorite phase as hydrate is contained in the hardened bodies and that the development of crystal has a great influence on the strengths and other physical properties of hardened bodies.

인체 상피암 세포주에서 방사선감수성과 손상회복의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (Relationship between Radiosensitivity and Repair Capacity in Human Epithelial Cancer Cell Lines)

  • To investigate the relationship between radiosensitivity and postirradiation recovery in human cancer cells, a study was performed using human cancer cell lines-A549, CaSki, SNU-C5 and PCI-13. For the study of radiosensitivity, single doses of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 Gy were given and for postirradiation recovery, two fractions of 4 Gy were separated with a time interval of 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, or 6 hours. Surviving fraction was estimated using colony forming ability. Surviving fractions at 2 Gy (SF2) were 0.496 (0.570-0.412) for A549, 0.496 (0.660-0.332) for CaSki, 0.386 (0.576-0.216) for SNU-C5, and 0.185 (0.247-0.123) for PCI-13. By statistical analysis the SF2 of PCI-13 was lower significantly than those of others (p<0.05). This difference was also observed at 4, 6 and 8 Gy dose levels. At 6 and 8 Gy the surviving fractions of SNU-C5 were also lower significantly than A549 and CaSki (p<0.05). By the analysis with linear quadratic model, the values of ${\alpha}$ for A549, CaSki, SNU-C5 and PCI-13 were 0.3016, 0.3212, 0.4327 and 0.8423, respectively, and those of ${\beta}$ were 0.02429, 0.02009, 0.03349 and 0.00059, respectively. So, the value of ${\alpha}$ showed increasing tendency with decreasing SF2. By the multitarget single hit model the values of Do for A549, CaSki, SUN-C5 and PCI-13 were 1.97, 1.97, 1.46 and 0.81, respectively, and those of n were 1.53, 1.50, 1.56 and 2.28, respectively. So, the value of Do decreased with decreasing SF2. Post-irradiation recovery reached plateau at around 2 hours. Recovery ratio at plateau phase ranged from 1.2 to 4.2; the value were 1.2 for PCI-13, 3.2 for CaSki, 3.3 for SNU-C5, and 4.2 for A549. Recovery rate well correlated with SF2, and increased with increasing Do and decreasing ${\alpha}$. According to above results, the intrinsic radiosensitivity was quite different among the tested cell lines; PCI-13 was the most sensitive and A549 and CaSki was similar. This difference of radiosensitivity is thought to be partly due to the difference in amount of postirradiation recovery. By linear quadratic model the difference of ${\alpha}$ values was very high, and by multitarget single hit model the difference of Do value was significantly high among four cell lines.

  • We have investigated the influence of Ti/Ba mole ratio in the characteristics of the modified $BaTiO_3$ systems with Ca addition. The specimens were fabricated with variations in Ti/Ba mole ratio between 0.995 and 1.01, and sintered in the temperature range between $1325^{\circ}C$ and $1375^{\circ}C$. When Ti/Ba mole ratio was 1.005 and sintering temperature was $1350^{\circ}C$, the breakdown voltage shows 260[V /mm].

  • Partail oxidation(POX) of n-butane was investigated in this research by employing ceria-promoted Ni/calcium hydroxyapatite catalysts ($Ce_xNi_{2.5}Ca_{10}(OH)_2(PO_4)_6$ ; x = $0.1{\sim}0.3$) which had recently been reported to exhibit good catalytic performance in POX of methane and propane. The experiments were carried out with changing ceria content, $O_2/n-C_4H_{10}$ ratio and temperature. As the $O_2/n-C_4H_{10}$ feed ratio increased up to 2.75, n-$C_4H_{10}$ conversion and $H_2$ yield increased and the selectivity of methane and other hydrocarbons decreased. But with $O_2/n-C_4H_{10}$ = 3.0, $n-C_4H_{10}$ conversion and $H_2$ yield decreased. This is considered due to that too much oxygen may inhibit the reduction of Ni or induce the oxidation of Ni, which results in poor catalytic activity. The optimum $O_2/n-C_4H_{10}$ ratio lay between 2.50 and 2.75. $Ce_{0.1}Ni_{2.5}Ca_{10}(OH)_2(PO_4)_6$ showed the highest $n-C_4H_{10}$ conversion and $H-2$ yield on the whole. In durability tests, higher hydrogen yield and better catalyst stability were obtained with the $O_2/n-C_4H_{10}$ ratio of 2.75 than with the ratio of 2.5.
