LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) 활성층이 LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) 복합 분리막의 산소투과 거동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) Active Layers on Oxygen Transport Properties of LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) Dual-phase Membrane)

  • 본 연구에서는 LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) 복합 분리막 표면에 LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) 활성층을 코팅한 후 활성층의 열처리 온도, 두께, 침투법을 이용한 STF 도입이 산소투과 특성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 활성층 도입은 복합 분리막의 산소 투과 유속을 급격히 증진시켰으며 이는 활성층 성분인 LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%)가 전자 전도성 및 표면 산소 분해 반응을 증진시켰기 때문이었다. 활성층의 열처리 온도가 $900^{\circ}C$에서 $1000^{\circ}C$로 증가한 경우, 산소 투과 유속은 증가하였고 이는 분리막과 활성층 사이 그리고 활성층의 결정입간 접촉이 증진하여 산소이온과 전자 흐름을 증진시켰기 때문으로 설명되었다. 코팅층의 두께가 약 $10{\mu}m$에서 약 $20{\mu}m$로 증가한 경우, 산소 투과 유속은 오히려 감소하였는데 이는 코팅층의 두께가 증가할수록 기공을 통한 공기 중의 산소 유입이 어려워지기 때문으로 설명되었다. 또한, 코팅층에 침투법을 이용하여 STF를 도입한 경우가 STF를 도입하지 않은 경우 보다 높은 산소 투과 유속을 보였는데 이는 도입된 STF가 산소 분해하는 표면 반응 속도를 촉진시키기 때문이다. 본 연구로부터 LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) 활성층 코팅 및 특성 제어는 LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) 복합 분리막의 산소투과 증진에 매우 중요함을 확인하였다.

하수처리수 재이용을 위한 직접접촉식 막증발법 적용 가능성 연구 (A Feasibility Study on Sewage Discharge Water Treatment for Water Reuse by Direct Contact Membrane Distillation)

  • 본 연구에서는 하수처리수를 원수로 사용하여 직접 접촉식 막증발법을 적용하여 원수 온도와 원수 유량 변화에 따른 하수처리수의 COD, TN, TP, TOC의 제거율 변화와 여과플럭스의 변화를 측정하였다. 또한 하수처리수에 의한 분리막의 오염 가역성을 평가하기 위해 1차 증류수만을 사용하여 물리세정을 수행한 후 플럭스의 회복률을 측정하였다. 실험결과 원수의 온도 및 유량에 관계없이 원수가 3배 농축될 때까지 여과를 진행하였음에도 불구하고 하수처리수의 주요 오염물질인 COD, TN, TP, TOC에 대한 제거율이 92% 이상으로 높게 나타났다. 또한 비교적 낮은 온도인 $50^{\circ}C$$60^{\circ}C$에서 원수의 유량에 따라 최소 13.8 LMH에서 20.3 LMH로 높은 여과플럭스를 나타냈다. 그리고 높은 농축계수까지 여과 실험을 진행했음에도 불구하고 낮은 여과플럭스의 감소를 나타냈으며 1차 증류수를 이용한 짧은 시간 동안의 물리세정만으로 최소 90% 이상의 높은 여과 플럭스 회복율을 나타냈다. 따라서 하수처리수 재이용을 위한 공정으로 막증발법의 적용이 충분히 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Evaluation of carbon flux in vegetative bay based on ecosystem production and CO2 exchange driven by coastal autotrophs

  • Studies on carbon flux in the oceans have been highlighted in recent years due to increasing awareness about climate change, but the coastal ecosystem remains one of the unexplored fields in this regard. In this study, the dynamics of carbon flux in a vegetative coastal ecosystem were examined by an evaluation of net and gross ecosystem production (NEP and GEP) and $CO_2$ exchange rates (net ecosystem exchange, NEE). To estimate NEP and GEP, community production and respiration were measured along different habitat types (eelgrass and macroalgal beds, shallow and deep sedimentary, and deep rocky shore) at Gwangyang Bay, Korea from 20 June to 20 July 2007. Vegetative areas showed significantly higher ecosystem production than the other habitat types. Specifically, eelgrass beds had the highest daily GEP ($6.97{\pm}0.02g\;C\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$), with a large amount of biomass and high productivity of eelgrass, whereas the outer macroalgal vegetation had the lowest GEP ($0.97{\pm}0.04g\;C\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$). In addition, macroalgal vegetation showed the highest daily NEP ($3.31{\pm}0.45g\;C\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$) due to its highest P : R ratio (2.33). Furthermore, the eelgrass beds acted as a $CO_2$ sink through the air-seawater interface according to NEE data, with a carbon sink rate of $0.63mg\;C\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$. Overall, ecosystem production was found to be extremely high in the vegetated systems (eelgrass and macroalgal beds), which occupy a relatively small area compared to the unvegetated systems according to our conceptual diagram of a carbon-flux box model. These results indicate that the vegetative ecosystems showed significantly high capturing efficiency of inorganic carbon through coastal primary production.

막 증발법(Membrane Distillation)을 이용한 고농도 하·폐수처리 가능성 연구 (Feasibility study on the application of membrane distillation process to treat high strength wastewater)

  • In this study, we applied a membrane distillation process to investigate a feasibility of treating a wastewater with high concentration of organic matters including nitrogen and phosphorus. The laboratory scale experiment was performed by using a hydrophobic PVDF membrane with the pore size of $0.22{\mu}m$ and porosity of 75%. The installation was direct contact type where the temperature difference between a feed and permeate side was controlled to have a range from 20 to $60^{\circ}C$. We observed a flux variation and a concentration changes of COD, $PO{_4}^{3-}$-P, $NH_4{^+}$-N and conductivity of feed side as well as permeate side with various temperature differences (20 to $60^{\circ}C$), cross flow velocities (0.09 to 0.27 m/s) through the module, and pH (6.6 to 12.0) of the feed that has the initial concentration of COD about 1,000 mg/L, total nitrogen 390 mg/L, total phosphorus 10 mg/L, conductivity of $7,000{\mu}s/cm$. The results showed that the average flux was ranged from 4 to $40L/m^2/hr$ which was almost similar with the flux of NaCl and deionized water used as a feed solution. The lowest flux was obtained at the operating condition with the temperature difference of $20^{\circ}C$ and cross flow velocity of 0.09 m/s while the highest one was measured with $60^{\circ}C$ and 0.27 m/s. Above 99% of COD and $PO{_4}^{3-}$-P in the feed could be rejected regardless of an operating condition. However, the removal rate of ammonium nitrogen was varied from 64 to 99% depending on the pH of feed solution.

포화상태에 놓인 C-Type 액체수소 탱크의 슬로싱이 열 유속과 BOG에 미치는 변화의 수치적 분석 (Numerical Study of Heat Flux and BOG in C-Type Liquefied Hydrogen Tank under Sloshing Excitation at the Saturated State)

  • 본 논문은 슬로싱 상태에 놓인 포화 상태 액체수소탱크에서 열 유속 및 BOG(Boil-off gas)의 경향을 다루고 있다. 특히, 액체-기체간의 침투 및 혼합에 의한 열 교환에 관심을 두었다. 먼저, VOF(Volume of fluid)와 Eulerian 기반의 다상 유동모델로 모형 슬로싱 실험을 모사하여 압력을 예측하고 계측된 값과 비교하였다. 자유 수면 및 충격 압력 실험 결과와 해석 결과를 비교하였으며, 유체의 속도 예측에서 정확할 수 있음을 간접적으로 증명하였다. 그리고 2차원의 Type-C 원통형 수소탱크를 대상으로 다상열유동해석을 수행하였다. 이때 포화상태에 놓인 액체 및 기체수소를 가정하고, 해석을 통해 각 상간의 혼합에 의한 열 교환의 수준을 확인하고자 하였다. 단, 상간의 열 교환만을 관심으로 두고 있었으므로 질량전달 및 기화모델은 해석에서 제외하였다. 최종적으로 상의 혼합으로 인해 액체수소로 유입되는 열 유속의 기여도에 대하여 정리하였다. 또한 액체수소로 유입되는 열 유속과 집중 질량 기반의 간이식을 통해 BOG 발생량 및 경향을 예측하고 분석하였다.

스퍼터링법에 의한 $BaZrO_3$도핑 YBCO 박막의 자속고정 특성 연구 (Flux pinning properties of rf-sputtered YBCO films with $BaZrO_3$ doping)

  • We have fabricated pure YBCO films and $BaZrO_3$ doped ones on $CeO_2$ buffered YSZ single crystal substrates using rf-sputtering method. In this work, pure YBCO and 2 vol% BZO doped YBCO target were used to investigate the flux pinning properties of BZO doped YBCO films compared to undoped ones. BZO nanodots within the superconducting materials was known to comprise the self-assembled columnar defects along the c-axis from the bottom of YBCO films up to the top surface, thus can be a very strong pinning sites in the applied magnetic field parallel to them. We will discuss the possibility of growing self-assembled columnar defects in the rf-sputtering method. It is speculated that BZO and YBCO phases can separate and BZO form nanodots surrounded by YBCO epitaxial layers and continuous phase separation and ordering between these two materials, which was well studied in Pulsed Laser Deposition method. For this purpose, some severe experimental conditions such as on-axis sputtering, shorter target-substrate distance, high rf-power, etc was adopted and their results will be presented.

  • For many large-scale applications of high-temperature superconducting materials, large critical current density($J_c$) in high applied magnetic fields are required. A number of methods have been reported to introduce artificial pinning centers(APCs) in $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$(YBCO) films for enhancement of their $J_c$. We report measurements of critical current in $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ films deposited by PLD on $SrTiO_3$ substrates decorated with Au nanoparticles. Au nanoparticles were synthesized on STO substrates with self assembled monolayer. Microstructural analysis of the obtained YBCO films was performed by using cross-section transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Phase and textural analysis was done using X-ray diffraction. The surface morphology and surface roughness(Ra) of the layers was measured by atomic force microscopy(AFM).

수평관내 이산화탄소의 증발 압력강하 (Evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube)

  • The evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ (R-744) in a horizontal tube was investigated experimentally. The experiments were conducted without oil in a closed refrigerant loop which was driven by a magnetic gear pump. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump. a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and evaporator (test section). The test section consists of a smooth. horizontal stainless steel tube of 7.75 mm inner diameter. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 200 to $500\;kg/m^{2}s$, saturation temperature of $-5^{\circ}C\;to\;5^{\circ}C$. and heat flux of 10 to $40\;kW/m^2$. The test results showed the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ are highly dependent on the vapor qualify, heat flux and saturation temperature. The evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ is very lower than that of R-22. In comparison with test results and existing correlations. the best fit of the present experimental data is obtained with the correlation of Choi et al. But existing correlations failed to predict the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$. Therefore, it is necessary to develop reliable and accurate predictions determining the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube.

대규모 주택단지내의 인공구조물에 의한 승온화효과에 관한 연구 (On the Warming Effects due to Artificial Constructions in a Large Housing Complex)

  • In mid-August 2002, under clear summer pressure patterns, we carried out an intensive meteorological observation to examine the warming effects due to artificial constructions in a large housing complex. We set an automatic weather system(AWS) at two places in a bare soil surface within a limited development district and an asphalt surface within a large apartment residence area, respectively. As a result of observation, it became clear that the difference of the surface air(ground) temperature between the bare soil surface and its peripheral asphalt area reached about 4$^{\circ}C$(13$^{\circ}C$) at the maximum from diurnal variation of surface temperatures on AWS data. Through the heat balance analysis using measurement data, it became clear that the thermal conditions at two places are dependent on the properties of surface material. The latent heat flux over the bare soil surface reached to about 300 W/㎡, which is more than a half of net radiation during the daytime. On the other hand, it was nearly zero over the asphalt surface. Hence, the sensible heat flux over the asphalt surface was far more than that of the bare soil surface. The sensible heat flux over the asphalt surface showed about 20∼30 W/㎡ during the night. It was released from asphalt surface which have far more heat capacity than that of bare soil surface.

고온초전도 SQUID 신호 검출을 위한 3채널용 FLL 회로 (Integrated 3-Channel Flux-Locked-Loop Electronics for the Readout of High-$T_c$ SQUID)

  • We designed and constructed integrated 3-channel flux-locked-loop (FLL) electronic system for the control and readout of high-T$_{c}$ SQUIDs. This system consists of low noise preamplifiers, integrators, interface circuits, and software. FLL operation was carried out with biased signals of 19 KHz modulated current and 150 KHz modulated flux, which are reconstructed as detected signals by preamplifier and demodulator. Computer controlled interface circuits regulate FLL circuit and adjust SQUID parameters to the optimum operating condition. The software regulates interface circuits to make an auto-tuning for the control of SQUIDs, and displays readout data from FLL circuit. 3-channel SQUID electronic system was assembled with 3 FLL-interface circuit boards and a power supply board in the aluminum case of 56 mm ${\times}$ 53 mm${\times}$ 150 mm. Overall noise of the system was around 150 fT/(equation omitted)Hz when measured in the shielded room, 200 fT/(equation omitted)Hz in a weakly shielded room, respectively.y.
