The rate of delayed hydride cracking (DHC), V, has been measured in cold-worked and stress-relieved Zircaloy-4 fuel cladding using the Pin-Loading Tension technique. At $250^{\circ}C$ the mean value of V from 69 specimens was $3.3({\pm}0.8)x10^{-8}$ m/s while the temperature dependence up to $275^{\circ}C$ was described by Aexp(-Q/RT), where Q is 48.3 kJ/mol. No cracking or cracking at very low rates was observed at higher temperatures. The fracture surface consisted of flat fracture with no striations. The results are compared with previous results on fuel cladding and pressure tubes.
In order to investigate the effect of intracellular cyclic GMP on the calcium channel, whole cell patch clamp technique with internal perfusion method was used in the single ventricular myocytes of the rabbit. Cyclic GMP, cGMP analogues, cAMP, isopernaline and forskolin were perfused into cells and their effects on the calcium current were analysed by applying depolarizing step pulse of 10 mV in amplitude for 200 msec from holding potential of -40 mV. Calcium currents usually activated from -30 mV and then reached a peak at +10 mV. Amplitude of the calcium current was standardized with membrane capacitance, 50 pF. Peak amplitude at +10 mV in control was -0.15 nA/50pF. When 100 mM cAMP was applied from the pipette, peak amplitude of calcium current increased to -0.32 nA and addition of 1 mM isoprenaline further increased its amplitude. In the presence of cGMP it alone also produced an increase of the calcium current to -0.52 nA/50pF and addition of isoprenaline or forskolin increased its magnitude to -[0.55~0.95] nA/50pF. Simultaneous application of cGMP and cAMP increased the calcium current to -0.67 nA/50pF. Among the cGMP analogues, 8-Br-cGMP was the most potent stimulant for the calcium current activation. From the above results it could be concluded tlat cGMP increases the calcium current not through cAMP dependent protein kinase nor cAMP dependent phosphodiesterase pathway, but through independent phosphorylation pathway, possibly cGMP dependent protein kinase pathway.
Ferroelectric SrBi2Ta2O9(SBT) films were deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates at 50$0^{\circ}C$ using a sintered SBT target Bi and Ta targets by modified rf magnetron sputtering and then were annealed at 80$0^{\circ}C$ for 10min in oxygen ambinet(760 torr) The composition of the SBT films could be easily controlled using the mul-ti-targets. The film composition of {{{{ {Sr }_{0.8 } {Bi }_{2.9 } {Ta}_{2.0 } {O }_{9 } }} was obtained with SBTd sputtering power of 100 W Bi of 25W and Ta of 10 W. A 250nm thick SBT films exhibited a dense and uniform microstructure and showed the remanent polarization(Pr) of 14.4 $\mu$C/cm2 and the coercive field({{{{ {E }_{c } }})of 60 kV/cm at applied voltage of 5 V. The SBT films show practically no polarization fatigue up to {{{{ {10 }_{10 } }} cycles under 5V bipolar pulse. The retention characteristics of the SBT films looked very promising and the leakage current density of the SBT films was about 1.23$\times${{{{ {10 }^{-7 } }}A/c{{{{ {m }^{2 } }} at 120kV/cm.

It is essential to acquire an accurate and simple technique for extracting the interface trap density ($D_{it}$) in order to characterize the normally-off gate-recessed AlGaN/GaN hetero field-effect transistors (HFETs) because they can undergo interface trap generation induced by the etch damage in each interfacial layer provoking the degradation of device performance as well as serious instability. Here, the frequency-dependent capacitance-voltage (C-V) method (FDCM) is proposed as a simple and fast technique for extracting $D_{it}$ and demonstrated in normally-off gate-recessed AlGaN/GaN HFETs. The FDCM is found to be not only simpler than the conductance method along with the same precision, but also much useful for a simple C-V model for AlGaN/GaN HFETs because it identifies frequency-independent and bias-dependent capacitance components.

Two kinds of bioactive glass were coated on the Ti6Al4V alloy by the enameling technique. In order to reduce the thermal stress due to the difference in expansion coefficient with the alloy with the secondary coating forming hydroxyapatite, the difference in expansion coefficient between the alloy and the two glasses was adjusted at $2{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C$ intervals. FE-SEM and EDS analysis showed that good adhesion was formed between the Ti6Al4V alloy and the primary coating by diffusion bonding. After immersion in SBF solution, it was confirmed from FT-IR that hydroxycarbonate apatite formed in the secondary coating was not different from bulk bioactive glass.

The $SrTiO_3$ thin films were prepared on Ag/TiN-coated and p-type bare Si(100) substrates by r.f. magnetron sputtering deposition technique. The electrical properties of the deposited films were investigated, which controlling deposition parameters such as substrate temperature and film thickness. The electrical properties ofthe $SrTiO_3$ films were measured using the capacitance-voltage(C-V) technique. The thickness dependence of the electrical properties of the $SrTiO_3$ films was analyzed of the connection with the films in series. The substrate affected the crystal structure and texture characteristics of the $SrTiO_3$ films. The resistivity of the film, sandwiched between Al and Ag films was measured, as a function of the temperature.
An experimental investigation was peformed to study the characteristics of ER(Electro-Rheological) fluid water flow in a horizontal rectangular tube with or without D.C volatage. To determine some characteristics of the ER flow, 2D PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) technique is employed for velocity measurement. This research found the mean velocity distribution with 0 kV/mm, 1.0kV/mm and 1.5kV/mm for Re = 0, 0.62, 1.29 and 2.26. When the strength of the electric field increased, the claster of ERF are clearly strong along the test tube and the flow rate decreased.

To determine some characteristics of the ER flow, 2D PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) technique was employed for velocity measurements. This research found the mean velocity distributions with 0kV /mm, l.0kV /mm and l.5kV /mm for Re=0, 0.62, 1.29 and 2.26. When the strength of the electric field increased, the cluster of ERF was clearly strong along the test tube and the flow rate decreased. The present results will contribute to the economical and compact design of ER fluids system.

22.9kV 50MVA HTS power cable has been developed and tested by Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute and LS Cable Company and it was supported by a grant from Center for Applied Superconductivity Technology of the 21st Century Frontier R&D Program. In this paper, DC Ic of 100m HTS cable which is installed at Kochang testing station was measured and analyzed. A measurement technique of DC Ic used by resistance and inductance removal method is established.
