  • Purpose: Live commerce is a new type of electronic commerce in combination with live streaming services. It is expected to increase virtual presence in the context of online shopping by overcoming a lack of social interactions between sellers and buyers which have been raised as a limitation in electronic commerce. Drawing on the studies of communication media, this study examines how live commerce contributes to the increase of virtual presence which consists of telepresence and social presence. Telepresence refers to a buyer's perception that he or she is present at the physical shopping mall during live shopping streaming whereas social presence refers to a buyer's perception of social interaction with a seller which is human warm, social, sensitive, and personal. In this study, we verify key determinants of virtual presence and its consequences. More specifically, this study proposes virtual presence contributes to the increase of buyers' trust in products and further purchase intentions. Furthermore, we verify influential factors of virtual presence from the technical and influencer perspectives of live commerce. Design/methodology/approach: To test the proposed hypotheses, the partial least squares (PLS) analysis is conducted with a total of 250 data collected on users with experience in the TaoBao live streaming shopping platform. Findings: The results show that first, telepresence and social presence are increased by visibility, media richness and attractiveness in the context of live shopping streaming. Second, buyers' trust in product trust and purchase intentions are positively influenced by telepresence and social presence. Finally, buyers' trust in product has a direct, positve effect on their purchase intentions. Overall, the findings offer new insights into the studies of electronic commerce by introducting the concepts of virtual presence and media richness from the literature of communication media in the field of live commerce.

  • This study conducted a quantitative research on the artistic perception and acceptance of value among buyers of commodified digital art known as NFT artworks. NFTs, digital assets, have shown rapid growth as investment products, but recently there has been a trend of declining value. However, NFT art, characterized by uniqueness and scarcity, continues to undergo continuous development to create new opportunities and values. Nonetheless, there are also negative opinions regarding NFT art itself as a form of technological art, as well as concerns about copyright disputes and fears of a bubble due to the conversion of physical artworks into NFTs. Predicting the value of artworks targeting specific demographics is difficult, and the value of innovative art such as NFT art, which changes along with the fluctuation of cryptocurrency values, is even more challenging to predict. Therefore, through research on the buyers who play a crucial role in the growth and development of this new form of art, the study aims to contribute to the expansion of NFT art.

In depth, face-to-face interviews with structured questionnaire were conducted with three buyers and three vendors related to 18 buying items of C Company. Results of this research were as following:1. Buying motives were mainly reduction of buying costs, improvement of profits, and increased efficiency in buying process for retail buyers, while the selling motive was mainly improvement of market share for suppliers. Suitable items for B2B buying were basic items or bulk items. The B2B buying process included the following steps: selecting auction items, target prices, and suppliers ; setting the product specification and bidding niles; training the suppliers for preparing the auction; proceeding the auction by internet. 2. The perceived B2B benefits for buyers were profit improvement and cost reduction while those for suppliers were time saving and market share improvement. The indicated buying problems were as poor product quality, low product image, and difficulty in partnership. For B2B buying strategies, a quality management system, various auction tactics based on items, and a supplier management system were recommended.

  • Today, according to tremendous development of B2B e-commerce, B2B e-marketplaces which accomplish various types of transactions through a number of buyers and sellers on online are embossed importantly. However, buyers are unable to search correct products because of inconsistency of product information between buyers and sellers. This paper solved this problem as semantic web technology. Semantic Web is an extension of current Web in which information is given well-defined meaning, better enabling computers and people to work in cooperation. The Semantic Web aims at machine-processable information. Its underlying technologies are RDF, RDF Schema, and ontology as the shared formal conceptualization of particular domains. In this paper, we present an implementation of Semantic Web enabled search system for B2B E-Marketplace domains. The system exploits OWL as the standard ontology language proposed by W3C and the Jena which is a Semantic Web toolkit, namely a Java framework writing Semantic Web applications. Finally, we summarize our experiences and discuss future research topics.

  • The Korean Apparel industry has played an significant role for the econom-ic development in Korea which is mainaly due to the apparel exports to the world market. However the Koran apparel industry has confronted drastic changes in domestic and also in international market for the last several years. Korean apparel products have lost price competitiveness in international market because domestic labor costs have increased so fast and al-so newcomers such as China or other Asian countries have emerged as compet-itive producers. Furthermore domestic market has been saturated with the Korean apparel manufacturers and also with the foreign retailers. Therefore the Korean apparel industry should establish market-ing strategies in order to regain competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the factors for non-price competitiveness of Korean apparel industry and propose the way to regain competitiveness form the buyers' point of view. The present study utilize the survey data for the internet database which is established by the Cotton Incorporated. The results show that the Korean apparel industry is not competitive in terms of non-price factors such as minimum orders terms of payment preproduction stage use of new technolo-gy and lead times. These factors are not directly related to the price of product which is suggested to the buyers. However these are flexibility factors which play important roles in decision making process of buyers because they can reduce risks in uncertain business environment. Therefore the Korean apparel industry should establish global marketing strate-gies which can enhance non-price competitiveness as well as price competitiveness.

  • We empirically examine the impact of online auction knowledge and category-specific knowledge on the final price of online auctions. Specifically, we question how the relationship between buying and selling experiences affects the final prices of online auctions. Related to the trust between buyers and sellers, we examine the multiple interactions between a buyer-seller pairand aim to identify how these repeated transactions influence the final price. To contrast these effects with other product related factors, we focus on so called 'common value' auctions of vintage stamps on eBay, in which the ex-post value of the product is the same among participating agents’ perceived value. Online auction of stamps provides a representative setting to examine the relationship between market experience and the auction participation behavior in the common value auction, as it provides the book value of stamp as well as price variation across individual buyers with different expertise levels. Our analysis of over 3000 stamps auctions on eBay indicates a significantly high frequency of buyer-seller (pair) interactions, thus suggesting a 'relationship view' of auctions. The work validates five hypotheses derived from the existing theory in economics, marketing, and information systems. Through the common-value auction data, we find that seller's online auction experience and category-specific experience favor sellers by increasing the final price. However, buyer's online auction experience does not affect the final price, but buyer's category-specific experience favors buyers by decreasing the final price. We find that the trust between two trading parties increases the final price.

  • This study identified the present state of store and selection criteria of supplier from the regional fashion buyer point of view and examined the effects of the factors of relative impact between buyer and supplier on the relational bond. The interviews and questionnaires were administered to the owners or the sellers of 85 fashion retail stores in Gwangju. For analysis of data, frequency, means, factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ and regression analysis were applied. The results were as follows. First, in the results of examining the actual conditions of store managers for fashion buyers, fashion buyers complained about lengthy travelling and time consumption inconvenience. They also reported decrease in margin and monthly mean sales over last year. Second, the most important selection the criteria for the supplier were product power, followed by a convenient store layout. Finally, higher quality communication, more compromises, and higher dependence were affected with higher satisfaction, trust, and commitment in suppliers; conversely, the trust and commitment of the buyers decreased relative to the increased power of the suppliers.

  • Overheated speculation areas which have high potential of becoming speculative are the target of many real estate policies. This paper proposes a model for spatial patterns of house price volatility and suggests a spatial pattern of overheated speculation areas. House prices are determined by economic behaviors of sellers and buyers who have rational or adaptive expectations. Spatial patterns of house price volatility are formed by tendencies of their economic behavior. If there is a majority of adaptive sellers and buyers in an area, it may appear as a "hotspot" by showing high volatility of house prices and simultaneous price increases. Overheated speculation areas are formed by adaptive sellers and buyers who want to realize maximum expectation profit, therefore these areas patterns are defined as hotspot patterns of price volatility.

  • An economic downturn can occurred through unexpected events in various fields, such as the subprime mortgage crisis and the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). Trade credit is important for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially during a monetary contraction, as it is the last option for firms that lack bank credit. This study aims to determine whether trade credit is profitable for the buyer and supplier firms during and after a financial crisis. We use panel data consisting of all trade credit transactions and financial statements of 5,751 Korean firms during the period 2008-2012. It shows that trade credit is more profitable for both buyers and suppliers in the post-crisis period than during the crisis. Moreover, trade payable is more effective for unconstrained buyers than for constrained buyers. Finally, a mixed strategy is superior to an aggressive or passive strategy of SMEs. The results suggest less profitability of trade credit during a period of contraction and greater sensitivity of the buyer SMEs, emphasizing the idiosyncratic liquidity strategy of each firm. This study can be helpful to develop a strategy of profitable trade credit for SMEs and to establish a policy of managing liquidity for the authority.

Total 280 questionnaires were distributed to the first year students at a private middle school in Seoul and 133 of copurchase cases and 120 individual purchase cases were collected and analyzed. The comparing results between parent satisfaction and repurchasing intention were summarized as follows. First, parent satisfaction of individual purchase and of co-purchase had been evaluated. As a result of the analysis of satisfaction by the five factors, individual parent buyers had higher satisfaction in brand, quality, design, and service except price. The largest different factor between both customers was quality satisfaction. Secondly, the individual buyers showed higher repurchasing intention than co-purchasing buyers. This result meant that individual purchasing group showed higher satisfaction. Lastly, when the relationship between satisfaction and repurchasing intention of each buyer group was examined, the level of satisfaction was positively associated with the repurchase intention of co-purchase.
