In a buyer seller transaction process, "value for money" is one of the most important criteria for a buyer's purchasing decision. The terms "value" and "money" represent a composite measure of what a buyer receives from goods and/or services and a measure of what he/she pays for them, respectively. The purpose of this paper is to help buyers select the best seller in terms of value for money. We suggest DEA models for buyer seller transactions and apply them to the case of an Internet comparison shopping site in Korea. We expect our DEA models to provide valuable information for rational buyers who want to pay the least price for high quality products/services. Moreover, we expect that our models can help sellers be more competitive by showing them how to attract buyers.
With the rapid evolution of technology, the size, number, and the type of databases has increased concomitantly, so data mining approaches face many challenging applications from databases. One such application is discovery of fraud patterns from agricultural product wholesale transaction instances. The agricultural product wholesale market in Korea is huge, and vast numbers of transactions have been made every day. The demand for agricultural products continues to grow, and the use of electronic auction systems raises the efficiency of operations of wholesale market. Certainly, the number of unusual transactions is also assumed to be increased in proportion to the trading amount, where an unusual transaction is often the first sign of fraud. However, it is very difficult to identify and detect these transactions and the corresponding fraud occurred in agricultural product wholesale market because the types of fraud are more intelligent than ever before. The fraud can be detected by verifying the overall transaction records manually, but it requires significant amount of human resources, and ultimately is not a practical approach. Frauds also can be revealed by victim's report or complaint. But there are usually no victims in the agricultural product wholesale frauds because they are committed by collusion of an auction company and an intermediary wholesaler. Nevertheless, it is required to monitor transaction records continuously and to make an effort to prevent any fraud, because the fraud not only disturbs the fair trade order of the market but also reduces the credibility of the market rapidly. Applying data mining to such an environment is very useful since it can discover unknown fraud patterns or features from a large volume of transaction data properly. The objective of this research is to empirically investigate the factors necessary to detect fraud transactions in an agricultural product wholesale market by developing a data mining based fraud detection model. One of major frauds is the phantom transaction, which is a colluding transaction by the seller(auction company or forwarder) and buyer(intermediary wholesaler) to commit the fraud transaction. They pretend to fulfill the transaction by recording false data in the online transaction processing system without actually selling products, and the seller receives money from the buyer. This leads to the overstatement of sales performance and illegal money transfers, which reduces the credibility of market. This paper reviews the environment of wholesale market such as types of transactions, roles of participants of the market, and various types and characteristics of frauds, and introduces the whole process of developing the phantom transaction detection model. The process consists of the following 4 modules: (1) Data cleaning and standardization (2) Statistical data analysis such as distribution and correlation analysis, (3) Construction of classification model using decision-tree induction approach, (4) Verification of the model in terms of hit ratio. We collected real data from 6 associations of agricultural producers in metropolitan markets. Final model with a decision-tree induction approach revealed that monthly average trading price of item offered by forwarders is a key variable in detecting the phantom transaction. The verification procedure also confirmed the suitability of the results. However, even though the performance of the results of this research is satisfactory, sensitive issues are still remained for improving classification accuracy and conciseness of rules. One such issue is the robustness of data mining model. Data mining is very much data-oriented, so data mining models tend to be very sensitive to changes of data or situations. Thus, it is evident that this non-robustness of data mining model requires continuous remodeling as data or situation changes. We hope that this paper suggest valuable guideline to organizations and companies that consider introducing or constructing a fraud detection model in the future.
If additional condition in letter of credit is used in malicious way, it affects the international trade transaction in jeopardy. Therefore, it's significant to identify whether additional conditions are malicious or ordinary in the transaction with letter of credit. In normal cases, thanks to lots of useful features as an international payment method, such as security of payment, legal protection, and versatility, a letter of credit is widely used in international trade. However, even with these advantageous features, a letter of credit is complicate and costly to use, compared to other payment methods. Furthermore, due to its principle of independence from underlying contract, a use of letter of credit creates another type of concern for proper handling and needs significant caution upon field use. At some points, malicious additional conditions are used for buyer's advantage in deal making and fraud instance in worst situation. In addition, some countries request malicious conditions against sellers as a non-tariff barrier. Therefore it's extremely important to recognize whether malicious additional condition exists in letter of credit and, if so, how to deal with it. This study delivers the information to distinguish and categorize the malicious conditions in various cases and to figure out how to deal with them for safer trade with less risk.

In the Uniform Commercial Code and UN Convention, non-conformity of contract is made of contract liability. And in our civil and commercial law provisions of warranty should be understand as the special ones of the provisions of general non-performance of obligation liability. As a result, More concrete study of them is required because they may have a great influence especially on international trade. As a result, We should be our best in finding a helpful and systematic structure that the dualistic structure of nonperformance of obligation liability and warranty liability must be unified by studying the theories of English and American warranty and our legal system, as well as international practice and usage being used in an international trade.
The oversea export of agricultural-product about item and quantity has not increased recently; especially the fresh-product has a tough issue because of period of production, price large fluctuations, customs clearance, quarantine, and uncertainty about actual locality, we need the information based construction to exchange information quickly about whole range of export and to focus capacity of participation subject for increasing the export. In this study we design the agricultural-product transaction information system based on crowdsourcing to transact the agricultural-product and the information of influencing benefit directly, and the information offering about export-procedure from participation of customs clearance, finance, distribution, buyer, and producer's guild, etc. We expect the producer's guild about agriculture that has not participate the trade to be able to export the agricultural-product and the stabilization of price to transact the product of collapsed or boomed through the agricultural-product information system based on crowdsourcing.
Trust has been identified as a key component in many e-Commerce studies. The purpose of this study is to find out which factors play a major role in building trust and how the built-up trust affect consumer's purchase intention in Internet used-car transactions. Based on the information asymmetry, TAM(Technology Acceptance Model), and the trust theory, our research model includes factors such as a buyer's propensity-to-trust, institutional characteristics(inspection and warranty policy), word-of-mouth referral, perceived size, and perceived benefits as independent variables. The model also includes trust as a mediate variable, intention to purchase as a dependent variable and perceived quality risk as a moderate variable. The research model is tested by analyzing 787 sample data gathered from Internet used-car transaction sites. The result shows that the trust has significant effects on the online purchase intention, and institutional characteristics has been identified as the most significant factor for the trust of Internet used-car sites. The independent factors influencing trust vary depending on the level of perceived quality risk. For users who perceive the quality risk low, the perceived benefits explain a little portion of the purchase intention. However, those who perceive quality risk high would purchase used-cars only when they have trust on the Internet sites, indicating that trust play an important role as a mediate variable. This study suggests that enhancing the trust in Internet used-car sites is important to increase online transactions.
Fingerprinting scheme supports the copyright protection to track redistributors of digital content using cryptographic techniques. Fingerprinting schemes should guarantee buyer's anonymity and asymmetry for their privacy. Most of known fingerprinting schemes adopt public-key cryptosystems to achieve asymmetry and discrete logarithm problem or graph isomorphism problem to achieve anonymity. However, these schemes are not suited in mobile environment because of the drawbacks of requiring high computational complexity. In this paper, we propose an efficient fingerprinting scheme for mobile environment to provide not only asymmetry of the protocol but also transaction anonymity of the buyer. By employing symmetric encryption to encrypt the digital content and adopting agent to perform the protocols, the efficiency of the proposed scheme is improved.
This paper examines the seller's obligation to deliver documents conforming to the terms of the sales contract as set forth in articles 30 and 34 of the CISG. Article 30 obliges the seller to band over documents relating to the goods. This obligation to band over documents is further elaborated in article 34. According to article 34, the documents must be tendered at the time and place, and in the form, required by the contract. If the seller has delivered non-conforming documents before the agreed time, he has the right to remedy the defects if this would not cause the buyer unreasonable inconvenience or expense. However, the buyer can claim any damages suffered despite the seller's remedy. Specific emphasis is placed on the interplay between the CISG and Incoterms. Incoterms contain detailed rules governing the obligations of the seller to provide for documents. Incoterms constitute international trade usage under articles 9(1) and 9(2) CISG and supplement construction of CISG with UCP under L/C transaction. In the event of failure by seller to deliver the necessary documents, the buyer has certain remedies available, such as the right to claim damages, the right to demand specific performance, and the right to repair. Furthermore, the failure to deliver the required documents under contract constitute a fundamental breach of the underlying sales contract as defined by article 25 of the CISG by the seller, and thereby enable the buyer to avoid the contract entirely article 49. However, it is stressed that since one of the main principles of the CISG is the preservation of the contract, the avoidance of the contract should remain a remedy of last resort.

If the seller requests an amendment to the letter of credit, the buyer must accept it and open the letter of credit the seller desires to the seller. If the buyer refuses the seller's request to change the letter of credit, company A has the obligation to change and reopen the letter of credit as requested by company B. Expect by agreeing on the quotation As it is a fundamental breach of contract stipulated in Article 25 of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, company B can cancel the trade contract and claim damages from company A. Compensation for damages caused by Company A's breach of the trade contract shall be an amount equal to the loss suffered by Company B as a result of the breach, including loss of profits.
