Bus stop passenger waiting simulation considering transfer passengers: A case study at Cheongju Intercity Bus Terminal (환승객을 고려한 버스 정류장 승객 대기 시뮬레이션: 청주 시외 버스 터미널 정류장 사례 연구)

  • After the integrated fare system has been applied, public transportation and transfer traffic increased. As a result, transfer passengers must be considered in the operation of the bus. Although previous studies have limitations due to utilizing deterministic mathematical models, which fails to reflect the stochastic movements of passengers and buses, in this study, a more realistic bus stop micro-simulation model is proposed. Based on the proposed simulation model, we represent the relationship between bus arrival interval and passenger wait time as a regression model and empirically show the differences between the cases with and without transfer passengers. Also, we propose a method converting passenger waiting time to cost and find optimal bus arrival interval based on the converted cost. It is expected the proposed method enables bottom-up decision making reflecting practical situation.

Concentration of $NO_2$ and $SO_{2}$ of Bus Terminals in Seoul (서울시 버스터미널의 이산화질소 및 아황산가스 농도)

  • In this study, we researched the concentration of nitrogen dioxide($NO_{2}$) and sulfur dioxide($SO_{2}$) of indoor(waiting room) and outdoor(place of getting on the bus) at the bus terminals (Kang-Nam, Dong-Seoul and Nam-Bu) in Seoul to recognize the degree of pollution by exhaust gas of the diesel engine vehicles, and examine the factor that might affect air pollution of terminals. The concentration of $NO_{2}$ and $SO_{2}$ were measured in winter and summer, and the results of the analysis are as follows : The mean concentration of $NO_{2}$ was $57.49{\pm}21.86$ ppb and the concentration of outdoor with $64.10{\pm}27.69$ ppb was significantly higher than the indoor with $50.89{\pm}10.92$ ppb (p<0.05), and the highest with $73.54{\pm}25.54$ ppb at Kang-Nam terminal (p<0.01). The mean concentration of $NO_{2}$ was $62.80{\pm}24.74$ ppb in winter and $52.19{\pm}17.50$ ppb in summer, and had a not statistical difference. The mean concentration of $SO_{2}$ was $31.71{\pm}8.73$ ppb and the concentration of outdoor with $31.04{\pm}8.89$ ppb was similar to the indoor $32.29{\pm}8.70$ ppb, and the highest with $32.57{\pm}9.01$ ppb at Dong-Seoul terminal (p<0.05). The mean concentration of $SO_{2}$ in winter with $39.67{\pm}4.10$ ppb was significantly higher than in summer with $23.76{\pm}2.61$ ppb (p<0.01). The concentration of outdoor $NO_{2}$ at Kang-Nam terminal was 104, 84 ppb in winter and 81.20 ppb in summer, and had a statistical difference compared with the concentration of indoor $NO_{2}$ at Dong-Seoul and Nam-Bu terminals. The concentration of indoor $NO_{2}$ and $SO_{2}$ were higher than that of outdoor at Kang-Nam and Dong-Seoul terminals, but on the contrary, lower than that of outdoor at Nam-Bu terminal. The concentration of $NO_{2}$ and $SO_{2}$ at Nam-Bu terminal were lower than those at Kang-Nam and Dong-Seoul terminals. While the concentration of $SO_{2}$ show the large difference between winter and summer, that of $NO_{2}$ dose not.

  • Recently, the ubiquitous is handled by maximum topic. New knowledge information and ubiquitous computing evolution have promoted new paradigm transfer and grand change. Also, need technology as powerful engineering approached fairly system and educational guidance side examination necessarily to overcome u-Learning base situation and studying obstacle situations. This treatise embodied handiness examination about attention shortage and excess obstacle (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, low ADHD) who must solve so as to be square and level being increase trend in primary school using USB (Universal Serial Bus) terminal system that allow fetters to OSGi (Open Service Gateway Initiative). That OSGi base USB terminal system is easy preservation of information, safety of network, cost-cutting and maintenance by various ubiquitous system that server that load many USB terminals and OSGi uses an USB bus of high speed and construct network, there is advantage of concentration elevation and so on of week and ADHD handled in this treatise because early diagnosis and treatment are serious. The confirmed system application that can supplement paper and pens examination's shortcoming and could solve examination's problem which use computer, and help in student guidance through ADHD simpleexamination who utilize OSGi base USB terminal system. Is available by game system that system for human nature examination or intelligence test and general exam explaining and level studying, order style question investigation program, studying system for disabled person, majority that enforce in public in school this study finding does together.

  • The effect of static var compensator(SVC) in one machine infinite bus system is investigated. SVC is installed in generator terminal and the structure of state matrix including SVC is represented. Eigenvalue analysis is performed in changing the value of SVC parameter to show the effect of SVC. The effect of SVC in eigenvalue analysis is small in the case of one machine infinite bus system.

  • In this paper, we propose an architecture of multimedia communication terminal that can e used in broadband ISDN environments. To design and implement the multimedia communication terminal, we analyzed the structure of multimedia terminals and the types of services which is recommended by public and private standard or ganization, such as ITU-T, Digital Audio-Visual Council(davic) and ATM Forum. The multifunctional communication terminal designed in this paper could allow inter-working between existing communication terminals on the heterogeneousnetwork and accept current and advanced multimedia communication application flexible. An implemented terminal is consisted of the multimedia processing board and the ATm interface board that is installed in PCI bus on personal computer. The integrated service multimedia communication terminal that is implemented supports retrieval, distributive and conversational communication service simultaneously. And then we performaned functional module test according to the individual communication services.

Determining locations of bus information terminals (BITs) in rural areas based on a passenger round-trip pattern (왕복통행 특성을 이용한 지방부 버스정보안내기(BIT) 지점 선정)

  • This study proposed a method to determine the number and location of bus information terminals (BIT), which is a device to provide passengers with bus arrival time at bus stops in a Bus Information System (BIS). In low-density area, it is not efficient to survey bus demands such as the number of passengers at all bus stops due to time and cost. This kind of a survey would, however, competently cover all bus stops if performed inside the bus. The number of riding-on and -off passengers is observed for every bus stop, and this data collection is repeated over all day. Data obtained from the survey are aggregated each bus stop. This study defines Utility Index (UI), an aggregate each bus stop. Bus stops are ranked according to UI and determined for a BIT within budget limitation. As a case study, a bus line in Jeju island, Korea, was dealt with. This case showed that the more aggregate the better data quality. This study is expected to contribute to solving a location problem of BITs in a BIS.

  • In this paper, we propose two control schemes. The first control scheme is an adaptive passivity-based excitation control which regulates the terminal voltage to its reference. This controller is obtained through two steps: firstly, a simple direct adaptive passivation controller is designed for the power system with parametric uncertainties; then a linear PI controller is applied to converge the terminal voltage to its reference. The second control scheme is a linear governor control which consists of the frequency and the mechanical power. It is shown that the internal dynamics are locally stable with controllable damping. In the end, the boundness of all electrical variables, the frequency, the mechanical power, and the convergence of the terminal voltage to its reference can be achieved by these control schemes.

  • This paper describes the implementation of a SoC(System-on-a-Chip) and an ISDN communication terminal by the SoC in ISDN network. The SoC has been developed with the functions of 32-bit ARM7TDMI RISC core processor, network connection with S/T interface, TDM--bus interface and voice codec, user interface. And we also review the developed software structure and the ISDN service protocol procedures which are working on the SoC. And finally this paper describers a structure of an ISDN terminal equipment using the implemented SoC and terminal software.

  • The trend of compact size, light weight, low power consumption in the portable telecommunication equipments demands large scale integration and low voltage operation of chips and the minimization of the number of the components in the telecommunication terminal. According to the trend, existing chip components are modulized and are integrated as a part into a bigger chip. This paper is about the development of the peripheral units of micro-controller for mobile telecommunication terminal. Peripherals consist of DMA controller, Interrupt controller, timer, watchdog timer, clock generator, and power management unit. They are designed to be integrated with EU(Execution Unit) and BIU(Bus Interface Unit) into a 16 bit micro-controller which will be used as a core of an ASIC for next generation digital mobile telecommunication terminal. At first, whole block of the micro-controller was described by VHDL behavioral model and simulated to verify its overall operation. Then, watchdog timer, clock generator and power management unit were directly synthesized by using VHDL synthesis tool. Rest of the pheriperal units were designed and simulated by using Compass Design Tool.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for the countermeasure to alleviate without shedding system loads the line overloads due to contingency in power system. This method for relieving by line switching is based on obtaining the line outage distribution factors - the linear sensitivity factors, which give the amount of change in the power flow of each line due to the removal of same other line in the power system. These factors are made up of the elements of Bus Reactance Matrix and branch reactances. In this paper a fast algorithm and program is presented for obtaining only the required Bus Reactance elements which corresponds to a non - zero elements of Bus Admittance Matrix and elements of columns which correspond to two terminal Buses of the overloaded(monitored) line. The proposed algorithm has been validated in tests on the 6 busbar test system
