  • The seventy percentage of Korean Peninsular is covered by the mountainous area, and the depth of west sea and south sea is relatively shallow. Therefore, a large scale land reclamation from the sea has been implemented for the construction of industrial complex, residental area, and port and airport facilities. The common problem of reclaimed land is consisted of soft ground, and hence it has low load bearing capacity as well as excessive settlement upon loading on the ground surface. The hollow concrete block has been used to reinforce the loose and soft foundation soil where the medium-high apartment or one-story industrial building is being planned to be built. Recently the earthquakes with the magnitude of 4.0~5.0 have been occurred in the west coastal and southeast coastal areas. Lee (2019) reported the advantages of hollow concrete block reinforced shallow foundation through the static laboratory bearing capacity tests. In this study, the dynamic behavior of hollow concrete block reinforced sandy ground with filling the crushed stone in the hollow space has been investigated by the means of shaking table test with the size of shaking table 1000 mm × 1000 mm. Three types of seismic wave, that is, Ofunato, Hachinohe, Artificial, and two different accelerations (0.154 g, 0.22 g) were applied in the shaking table tests. The horizontal displacement of structure which is situated right above the hollow concrete block reinforced ground was measured by using the LVDT. The relative density of soil ground are varied with 45%, 65%, and 85%, respectively, to investigate the effectiveness of reinforcement by hollow block and measured the magnitude of lateral movement, and compared with the limit value of 0.015h (Building Earthquake Code, 2019). Based on the results of shaking table test for hollow concrete block reinforced sandy ground, honeycell type hollow block gives a large interlocking force due to the filling of crushed stone in the hollow space as well as a great interface friction force by the confining pressure and punching resistance along the inside and outside of hollow concrete block. All these factors are contributed to reduce the great amount of horizontal displacement during the shaking table test. Finally, hollow concrete block reinforced sandy ground for shallow foundation is provided an outstanding reinforced method for medium-high building irrespective of seismic wave and moderate accelerations.

  • The most research on facility layout problems ignored the actual shapes of activity spaces and the aisles between activities. In many cases, the research also ignored the actual shape of building where the activities are to be arranged. In this paper, We present a block based layout technique that applies a genetic algorithm to search for a very good facility layout with horizontal aisles. From the extensive experiments for two different cases with respect to the shape of activity space, it was found that the proposed method generated better layouts than the ones obtained by applying Tam's algorithm in all test problems. The proposed algorithm showed about 10% improvement of performance on the average. We determined the best combination of the reproduction rule and the genetic operators with their probabilities for each test problem through the experiment.

  • It has become mandatory to designs by BIM in construction. It is urgent to make accurate decisions through the linkage between complex and various types of data in projects. In particular, block-chain based data sharing process (using BIM files, general construction submitted files) is essential to support reliable decision making in complex data flood systems. Prior to developing data sharing system based on block-chain, in this paper, a data linkage method is proposed so that practitioners can simultaneously utilize existing construction information and BIM data. Examples are shown based on the construction classification system and file expression, and incentive strategies are explored through a survey so that heterogeneous information can be used at the same time in overall projects.

  • An efficient and practical synthetic method of △1 -3-octalone, which is a versatile building block for thesyntheses of polycyclic compounds, has been developed. The dianion of ethyl acetoacetate reacts with cyclohexene-1-carboxaldehyde (3) to produce the aldol adduct 6, which then undergoes Mn(Ⅲ)-mediated radical cyclization followed by acetate elimination to give △1 -3-octalone 4. A detailed mechanistic insight of Mn(Ⅲ)-mediated cyclization of 6 has been disclosed.

  • A one-holed torus ${\Sigma}$(l, 1) is a building block of oriented surfaces. In this paper we formulate the matrix presentations of the holonomy group of a one-holed torus ${\Sigma}$(1, 1) by the gluing method. And we present an algorithm for deciding the discreteness of the holonomy group of ${\Sigma}$(1, 1).

  • This paper presents a method of the circuit design of the multiple-valued digital logic switching functions based on the modular techniques. Fisr of all, we introduce the necessity, background and concepts of the modular design techniques for the digital logic systems. Next, we discuss the definitions that are used in this paper. For the purpose of the circuit design for the multiple-valued digital logic switching functions, we discuss the extraction of the partition functions. Also we describe the construction method of the building block, that is called the modules, based on each partition functions. And we apply the proposed method to the example, we compare the results with the results of the earlier methods. In result, we decrease the control functions, it means that we obtain the effective cost in the digital logic design for any other earlier methods. In the future research, we require the universal module that traet more partition functions and more compact module.

  • Multiple linear cryptanalysis has been researched as a method building up the linear attack strength. We indicate that the lastest linear attack algorithm using multiple approximations, which was proposed by Biryukov et al. is hardly applicable to block ciphers with highly nonlinear key schedule, and propose a new multiple linear attack algorithm. Simulation of the new attack algorithm with a small block cipher shows that theory for the new multiple linear cryptanalysis works well in practice.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the tendency and meaning of metaphors for block play. For this purpose, responses from 165 teachers in J area day care centers were collected using sentence completion metaphors. Collected data were analyzed through a categorization process using a qualitative research method based on previous research into metaphor analysis. From the results, first, block play trends from the metaphors were classified into two categories: content of block play, and characteristics of block play. The frequency in the order for Building Value of Play was higher. For the content of block play, composition had the highest frequency for trait of block play, and the basis of growth and development had the highest frequency in the Value of Block Play category. Second, the meanings of block play metaphors are composing, expressing, imagining, pleasure, freedom, and value of block play under Category Play, which was recognized as the basis of development, emotional development, social development, and creativity. Based on the results of the study, the value and role of block play in early childhood teacher education and in-service education should be further emphasized.

  • The characteristic prediction and analysis of 3-dimensional (3-D) solenoid-type embedded inductors is investigated. The four different structures of 3-D inductor are fabricated by using low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) process. The circuit model parameters of the each building block are optimized and extracted using the partial element equivalent circuit method and HSPICE circuit simulator. Based on the model parameters, predictive modeling is applied for the structures composed of the combination of the modeled building blocks. And the characteristics of test structures, such as self-resonant frequency, inductance and Q-factor, are analyzed. This approach can provide the characteristic conception of 3-D solenoid embedded inductors for structural variations.
