This paper suggests a 6-pulse-shift converter structure with PWM current-source inverter based on buck-boost configuration to improve the efficiency and to reduce the switching frequency of inverter for photovoltaic generation system, the device can be operated as interface system between solar module system and power system grid without energy storage cell. The circuit has six current-source buck-boost converter which operate chopper part and kas one full bridge inverter which make a decision the polarity of AC output. Therefore, the proposed PWM power inverter has advantages such as the reduction of witching loss and realization of unity power factor operation. The theoretical backgrounds are discussed and the input-output characteristics for the implemented prototype inverter using TMS320F2812 are verified experimentally in this paper.
This paper is proposed to a novel DC-DC buck-boost converter added electric isolation by using a soft switching method. To be achieved of high efficiency system, the proposed converter is constructed by using a partial resonant circuit. The control switches using in the converter are operated with soft switching for a partial resonant method. The controlling switches are operated without increasing their voltage and current stresses by the soft switching technology. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the converter efficiency is high. And the proposed converter is added in a electric isolation. When the power conversion system is required to electric isolation, the proposed converter is adopted with system development of high efficiency. The soft switching operation and the system efficiency of the proposed converter is verified by digital simulation and experimental results.
This paper investigates a new isolated single-phase AC-DC converter, which integrates a modified AC-DC buck-boost converter with a DC-DC forward converter. The front semi-stage is operated in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) to achieve an almost unity power factor and a low total harmonic distortion of the input current. The rear semi-stage is used for step-down voltage conversion and electrical isolation. The front semi-stage uses a coupled inductor with the same winding-turn in the primary and secondary sides, which is charged in series during the switch-on period and is discharged in parallel during the switch-off period. The discharging time can be shortened. In other words, the duty ratio can be extended. This semi-stage can be operated in a larger duty-ratio range than the conventional AC-DC buck-boost converter for DCM operation. Therefore, the proposed converter is suitable for universal input voltage (90~264 $V_{rms}$) and a wide output-power range. Moreover, the voltage stress on the DC-link capacitor is low. Finally, a prototype circuit is implemented to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

Many generating units can be in parallel connection to one battery and inverter. However, one of the biggest problems we encountered is that wind speed is fluctuated sharply in accordance with the unstable weather conditions. To solve this problem, we need energy storage equipment such as storage lead-acid battery. We design a system and analyze its modeling so that it supplies a stable power to the load through DC-AC inverter part. In this paper, we applied dual step-up/down buck-boost converter and dual high-frequency half-bridge converter to the proposed system. These converters are used to store energy in the battery regardless of the change of the wind speed. The operation process of two proposed types of converters for high-power battery charging is discussed along with simulation and experimental result. We design a charging circuit which is applicable in the actual wind power generation system for 30kw and confirm the circuit's validity.
In this paper, design and control method ZVT Interleaved Bidirectional LDC(IB-LDC) for mild-hybrid electric vehicle is proposed. The IB-LDC is composed of interleaved buck and boost converters employing an auxiliary inductor and auxiliary capacitors to achieve zero-voltage-transition. Operating principle of IB-LDC according to operation mode is introduced and mathematically analyzed in buck and boost mode. Moreover, PFM and phase control are proposed to reduce circulating current for low power range. Passive components design such as main inductor, auxiliary inductor and capacitors is suggested, considering ZVT condition and maximizing efficiency. Furthermore, a 600W prototype of ZVT IB-LDC for MHEVs is built and tested to verify validity.
The use of high voltage gain converters is essential for the distributed power generation systems with renewable energy sources such as the fuel cells and solar cells due to their low voltage characteristics. In this paper, a high voltage gain topology combining cascode Inverting Buck-Boost converter and voltage multiplier structure is introduced. In proposed converter, the input voltage is connected in series at the output, the portion of input power is directly delivered to the load which results in continuous input current. In addition, the voltage multiplier stage stacked in proper manner is not only enhance high step-up voltage gain ratio but also significantly reduce the voltage stress across all semiconductor devices and capacitors. As a result, the high current-low voltage switches can be employed for higher efficiency and lower cost. In order to show the feasibility of the proposed topology, the operation principle is presented and the steady-state characteristic is analyzed in detail. A 380W-40/380V prototype converter was built to validate the effectiveness of proposed converter.
In this paper, we modeled the devices used easily in PV system circuits. In addition, for full operation of the photovoltaic system, a complete operation system for the DC-DC buck-boost converter and the MPPT control system was modeled and simulated to confirm good operation. we were constructed an actual system with the same conditions in the simulation and experimented. The purpose is to confirm the stable power supply through the load leveling by presenting the PCS considering ESS of photovoltaic power generation. we will do study to apply hybrid capacitors that have high energy density to the same size compared to the EDLC to DVR. As a result, we proposed a single-phase 3 kW grid-connected solar power converter.
In this paper, the four switches three-phase Z-source rectifier is studied. The conventional three-phase four switches rectifier can only either perform buck or boost operation, distortion and unbalance of the input current are serious. Therefore, we proposed the four switches three-phase Z-source rectifier which can realize buck function simply by applying the Z-impedance network. We will verify characteristics of Z-network by the simulation and experiment.
A family of dual-DC-input (DI) dual-buck inverters (DBIs) is proposed by employing a DI switching cell as the input of traditional DBIs. Three power ports, i.e. a low voltage DC input port, a high voltage DC input port and an AC output port, are provided by the proposed DI-DBIs. A low voltage DC source, whose voltage is lower than the peak amplitude of the AC side voltage, can be directly connected to the DI-DBI. This supplies power to the AC side in single-stage power conversion. When compared with traditional DBI-based two-stage DC/AC power systems, the conversion stages are reduced, and the power rating and power losses of the front-end Boost converter of the DI-DBI are reduced. In addition, five voltage-levels are generated with the help of the two DC input ports, which is a benefit in terms of reducing the voltage stresses and switching losses of switches. The topology derivation method, operation principles, modulation strategy and characteristics of the proposed inverter are analyzed in-depth. Experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed DI-DBIs.
This Paper presents a 6 pulse shift operation control mode of current-source-inverter to make improvement of efficiency and to reduce the frequency of inverter switching for photovoltaic generation system using PWM current-source-inverter. This system is connected solar cell energy directly without using a storage cell. The proposed circuit can maintain maximum voltage of photovoltaic generation of take advantage of six Buck-Boost converter and a full-bridge inverter determines the polarity of AC output. That is controlled by using digital signal processor TMS320F2812 for operation about a 6 pulse shift operation control of current-source-inverter, and it is verified through the experimental results.
