  • The relative density of soil indicate loose and dense state of sand. Because sand is low compressibility, initial relative density of sand is important effect factor of compression and shear behavior. To measure exactly relative density, the exactly maximum and minimum void ratio was determinated by laboratory tests. Generally, vibrating table method is adapted for minimum void ratio(KS F 2345). However KS F 2345 is not consider the particle break during the vibrating table test. In this study, The minimum void ratio is compared with a method of Pluviation and Vibrating table test results using the K-7(crushed sand). It is concluded that the K-7 sand particles were crushed during the vibrating table test and vibrating table test is not a suitable test for a crushed sand $e_{min}$.

  • This study estimates the effect of the Kyoto Protocol on $CO_2$ emissions with a Quandt-Andrews test for detection of structural break with Annex B counties data. The structural break on $CO_2$ emissions took place in 2008 which is 3 year after ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. According to the empirical results, 1% increase in energy consumption leads to 1% and 0.31% increases in income before and after the structural break, respectively. This study also finds the monotonic increase relationship between $CO_2$ emission and income. Regarding to the relationship between renewable energy use and $CO_2$ emissions, 1% increase in renewable energy consumption leads to 0.1% decrease in $CO_2$ emissions until year 2007 and 0.09% decreases after year 2008, respectively. Based on the results of empirical study, we find little evidence of the effect of the Kyoto Protocol on reduction of $CO_2$ emissions for Annex B countries.

  • Best-estimate thermal-hydraulic codes, CATHARE2 V1.2 and RELAP5/MOD3, hate been assessed against the BETHSY 6.2 tc six-inch cold leg break loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) test. Main objective is to analyze the overall capabilities of the two codes on physical phenomena of concern during the small break LOCA i.e. two-phase critical flow, depressurization, core water level de-pression, loop seal clearing, liquid holdup, etc. The calculation results show that the too codes predict well both in the occurrences and trends of major two-phase flow phenomena observed. Especially, the CATHARE2 calculations show better agreements with the experimental data. However, the two codes, in common, show some deviations in the predictions of loop seal clearing, collapsed core water level after the loop seal clearing, and accumulator injection behaviors. The discrepancies found from the comprision with the experimental data are larger in the RELAP5 results than in the CATHARE2. To analyze the deviations of the two code predictions in detail, several sensitivity calculations have been performed. In addition to the change of two-phase discharge coefficients for the break junction, fine nodalization and some corrections of the interphase drag term are made. For CATHARE2, the change of interphase drag force improves the mass distribution in the primary side. And the prediction of SG pressure is improved by the modification of boundary conditions. For RELAP5, any single input change doesn't improve the whole result and it is found that the interphase drag model has still large uncertainties.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine musculoskeletal disorders and grasp the relationship between working environment factors and stress and musculoskeletal disorders in dental hygienists. The self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted with 483 dental hygienists working in Gwangju who were selected by convenience sampling. Frequency analysis, crosstab analysis, t-test, and multiple logistic regression analysis were made. Subjects' musculoskeletal disorders that complain of severe pains were 29.8%. The relationship between working environment factors and stress and musculoskeletal disorders were examined. As a result, work break frequency of working environment factors and stress were found to influence musculoskeletal disorders. For working environment factors, the odds ratio of musculoskeletal disorders of the two breaks group was 0.29 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.11~0.73), compared with the no break group, indicating less musculoskeletal disorders. However, no significant difference was found in one break and more than three breaks groups. The odds ratio of musculoskeletal disorders of stress was 0.44 (95% CI, 0.27~0.70), indicating negative correlation. As break frequency was moderate (two breaks), musculoskeletal disorders became decreased. Stress showed negative correlation with musculoskeletal disorders.

  • In this study, a source locating technique applicable to transversely isotropic media was developed. Wave velocity anisotropy was considered based on the partition approximation method, which simply enabled AE source locating. Sets of P wave arrival time were decided by the two-step AIC algorithm and they were later used to locate the AE sources when having the least error compared with the partitioned elements. In order to validate the technique, pencil lead break test on artificial transversely isotropic mortar specimen was carried out. Defining the absolute error as the distance between the pencil lead break point and the located point, 1.60 mm ~ 14.46 mm of range and 8.57 mm of average were estimated therefore it was regarded as thought to be 'acceptable' considering the size of the specimen and the AE sensors. Comparing each absolute error under different threshold levels, results showed small discrepancies therefore this technique was hardly affected by background noise. Absolute error could be decomposed into each coordinate axis error and through it, effect of AE sensor position could be understood so if optimum sensor position was able to be decided, one could get more precise outcome.

  • Several soft white spring and winter wheat cultivars were evaluated by analyzing physicochemical properties such as Single Kernel Characterization System (SKCS), milling properties, Rapid Visco-Analyzer (RVA), mixograph pattern, and sugar-snap cookie-making potentialities. Results of SKCS revealed kernel hardness had a positive correlation coefficient with test weight $(r=0.497^{*})$ and near-infrared reflectance (NIR) hardness $(r=0.495^{*})$. SKCS kernel weight had a significantly high correlation of $r=0.942^{**}$ with SKCS kernel size. The test weight had significantly high correlations with straight-grade flour yield $(r=0.720^{**})$, break flour yield $(r=0.490^{*})$, flour ash content $(r=-0.781^{**})$, and milling score $(r=0.838^{**})$. The average RVA peak viscosity of the soft white winter wheat was higher (195.1 unit) than the soft white winter wheat varieties (135.7 unit). A correlation was found between RVA peak viscosity and swelling volume. Significant correlation coefficients were obtained among cookie properties, milling properties, protein content, and mixograph absorption. The cookie top grain score had a correlation coefficient of $r=0.447^{*}$ with swelling volume.

  • Out door exposure to daylight and weather climate conditions can cause adverse effect on the properties of automotive plastic materials. The effects of sunlight exposure, especially ultra violet (UV) radiation, can break down the chemical bonds in a polymeric material. This degradation process is called photo-degradation and ultimately leads to color changes, cracking, chalking, the loss of physical properties and deterioration of other properties. To explore the effect of sunlight exposure on the automotive materials, this study investigated photo-oxidation degree and surface property change of molding parts by analytical methods. For the further study, accelerated weathering test methods are proposed, which can correlate with out door weathering, to predict long term performance of automotive plastic materials.

  • The size of leisure space has been determined on the basis of the annual and peak day's number of visitor, turnover rate, and size per visitor. But the past models have no theoretical base and practical errors on the many cases. So, this study was carried out to build and test a new theoretical model for selecting a optimal size of theme park. The basic concept of the model building is the break-even point analysis of cost-volume-profit relation. That is, Gain-Loss of theme park is determined by marginal profit and fixed cost by size. YongIn Farmland was selected as a model test case.

  • A chemo-mechanical method was used to prepare lignin-containing cellulose nanofibrils(L-CNF) from unbleached woodpulps dispersed uniformly in an organic solvent. L-CNF/PLA composites were obtained by solvent casting method. The effects of L-CNF concentration on the composite performances were characterized by tensile test machine, contact angle machine, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The tensile test results indicated that the tensile strength and elongation-at-break increased by 50.6% and 31.8% compared with pure PLA. The contact angle of PLA composites decreased from $79.3^{\circ}$ to $68.9^{\circ}$. The FTIR analysis successfully showed that L-CNF had formed intermolecular hydrogen bonding with PLA matrix.
