In this study, brassiere prototype was developed for attaching the measuring module of ECG measurement and body movement while sleeping. For ECG measurement, textile electrodes was made of stretch fabric containing polyurethane in consideration of elasticity of brassiere band. It was used as a conductive yarn by silver coating on the warp. The textile electrodes was woven with twisted twill to increase the density of conductive yarns. The pressure of the brassiere band was enough to sensing stably the ECG, and the elastic band of the brassiere was designed to be wider than 3cm to install the textile electrodes inside, so that textile electrodes was close fitting to the skin at a constant pressure without lifting. The textile electrodes coated with silicon on rear was attached to brassiere elastic band, and the module was installed with a snap connector to textile electrodes of brassiere band. The module was suitable to monitering ECG measurement of a typical R peak, pulse rate and body movement while sleeping without interfering.

The purpose of this study was to develops of brassiere pattern for middle school students (15 ages ${\mp}$ 3). In order to design a brassiere pattern, the body surface shell was used as the basic pattern. The foundation pattern and the four-piece brassiere pattern with wire were designed and sewed. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The foundation pattern of the size 75A was proved proper for the body by the wearing tests. Each angle and length of the parts on the base line of the breasts played an important role on setting the pattern. 2. As based on the body surface shell extracted from a plaster mold, the cups of brassiere pattern were applied to the body surface shell, and full side stretch -wings were applied to 8% reduced body size. 3. As the result of the wearing test, the excellence of the experimental brassiere was recognized objectively, with high marks in all the items of clothing compensation, body motion, clothing pressure and breasts growth. The experimental brassiere was covering the whole breasts to cope with change according to breasts growth, It was designed to support the breasts firmly, not to press the middle part of them. Simultaneously, this has the advantages that satisfy a characteristic of a figure and the purpose of putting it on.

To provide the basic data to manufacture superior brassiere, this study was analyzed the evaluation of wear sensation of brassiere and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume of 182 twenties-aged women. The results were as follows: First, it was reliable to set up the cup size of brassiere by using the breast circumference. Hemispherical breast was the same as cone-shaped breast in breast classification by breast circumference and volume. Second, the breast sizes were able to classify into under 200cc, 200~300cc, 300~400cc, and over 400cc by volume, but measuring the volume was more difficult than measuring the breast circumference. Last, there were correlations between breast circumference and breast volume by breast type. And there were differences on improvement, brassiere size, and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume. This results will give basic informations for brassiere design that reflects breast type according to breast circumference and volume for functional brassiere.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual sensibilities of brassiere design. Brassieres were divided into three types according to connection of a cup and a strp. In each type Lace was used where the part of the cup divided by Lines which were constructed such as a mold a horizontal a vertical a mixed and an oblique design. As a result 39 brassieres were obtained. The experiment has been done for seven groups which were divided by the type line and lace with 5 semantic differential bi-polar scales and 10 specialists. The data was analyzed using the statistical SPSS package. The major findings of this research were as follows. An oblique design line in the brassiere were effective in making the breast look bigger more buxom and more voluminous. To make the breast look small and unvoluminous the use of a mold in the 1/2 cup brassiere was effective. Also a mold using lace ion the 1/2 cup brassiere had an effect in making the breast look flatter and broader.

The purpose of this study is to proviede basic data for designing sports-brassiere by a questionnaire survey about sports-brassieres preferences and physiological wearing test. The results of the survey and the physiological wearing tests on sports-brassieres are as follow; 1. According to the survey, dissatisfied factors on the sports-brassiere are "drooping and vibrating of the breasts". Preferable factors are supporting breasts by stretch and seldom changing its position by motion. The bigger cup-size and more hemispherical-type causes more discontent than flat-type. 2. The shape of breasts is oval, on what ground, horizontal line is longer than vertical. For the cross section of bust line, shirts type.brassiere is more gently curved than cup-brassiere. 3. The feeling of wearing comfort is correlated with bust.up, shield, close adhesion. The vibration of breasts is correlated with covering urea and close adhesion, and the changing band's position by movement, close adhesion. Too much covering area or strain are in inverse correlation of the comfort. 4. The rate of prevention of vibration is 75~80% on superior sports-brassieres, which has broad covering area and excellent close adhesion. adhesion.

In order to examine the characteristics of brassiere products for the 1924 generation brands on the market and grasp problems, we selected three 'comparative brassieres', each one from among the 1924 underwear brands with the highest recognition and sales profit, and then designed a 'sample brassiere' pattern(75A) with a similar shape to the comparative brassieres. We set up the "New Cup Grading Rule" with a view of reflecting the wearing effect that was varied according to cup sizes, graded the sizes of 75AA and 75B with this method, and made the sample brassieres in three sizes. We conducted the wearing evaluation and body measurements of 9 subjects after analyzing the patterns and characteristics of the sample brassieres and three comparative brassieres. As a result of the wearing evaluation, the sample and comparative brassiere 2, the dimensions and shapes were appropriate for the 1924 generation consumers and expressed an overall natural silhouette, showed satisfactory results in the entire evaluation questions. On the other hand, the comparative brassiere 1 and 3 that tended toward making a big change in the physical characteristics got unsatisfactory evaluations in the dimensions of the cups, clothing pressure, and bust silhouette. As a result of observing the variation in body dimensions by body measurements when nude and when wearing each brassiere and then summing it up with the score of the wearing evaluation, it was proven that too much change in body shape can create a negative image by upsetting the balance of the whole silhouette. Therefore, it is desirable to develop brassiere products with proper dimensions and clothing pressure that can make a physical change that harmonizes the overall bust silhouette and the position and shape of the breasts.

The purpose of this research is to compare and analyze the brassiere patterns sold in Shanghai and Korea and to present basic materials needed in developing the brassiere patterns in Chinese adult women market. The study subject which is to find the difference in brassiere patterns of Korea and China has been selected of 3 Korean brands and 4 Chinese brands. 1. For the brassiere patterns sold in Korea, it were using the same size for the width of Hook&Eye, space between the shoulder lace on the back, slope of wing and the location of the Keeper was similar. 2. For the cup supporting base, Chinese brassiere covers the lower part of the breast and as it is not comfortable and has a phenomenon of loosening up, there were severe puckering. For issues in the wearing experiment, amendments in patterns with the cup part was required. 3. Chinese brassieres were big differences in wing angles and for Aimer, it had the steepest trend in wings and thus the wings headed down and for Gujin, as the angle of the wing was smaller than $90^{\circ}$, it was heading upward. 4. Upon comparing the patterns of the Korean and Chinese brassiere, although most of the sizes excluding the wing angle had similar sizes, there was big differences in the wing angle. The reason why the brassiere patterns sold in China had bigger wing angle was due to the fact that more Chinese women had sway back body type than the Korean women and should reflect such difference in body size into making the brassiere patterns for each women.

The purpose of this study was to research on breast shape and size to suggest a brassiere sizing chart for elderly women. For this purpose 90 elderly women aged between 55 and 69 were sampled at random to review their breast types by age group, and thereby, suggest the basic measurements and production ratio of each brassiere size in reference to KS K 0070: 1999. The collected measurement data were processed statistically using the SPSS PC/WIN program for technical statistical analysis. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. Analysis of Breast Measurements To find out difference among age groups, the 90 subjects were grouped into three(Group 1 ; aged 55 to 59, Group 2 ; aged 60 to 64, Group 3 ; aged 65 to 69). The results of the comparative analysis of anthropometric data from three groups show that getting older;- Various length measurements related to the drooping degree of breast were increased. It was found that the older group in their 65-69's had more drooping breasts than their 55-59's or 60-64's counterparts. Such findings suggests that older women's drooping can be corrected by a brassiere which serves to support the breasts. 2. Suggestions on a Brassiere Sizing For the basic measurements of brassiere parts for the elderly women, the correlation between underchest circumferences and cup sizes were analyzed. 3% or higher occurrences among the whole sample elderly women were included in the brassiere sizes. thus, the under-chest measurements were set at four intervals from 75 to 95, while the cup measurements were determined also at four intervals from "AAA" to "B" sizes. The resultant 6 sizes excluding the least frequent occurrences covered 73.2% of the sample elderly women actual breast sizes. As a consequence of reviewing the production ratio of each brassiere size for the women, it was found that the brassiere size of highest production ratio was "85A" (17.4%), followed by 80A (14.5%), 85AA 90A (10.1%) and 75A (8.7%) in their order.

This study provides basic reference data to develop sports brassieres appropriate for women in their forties and fifties. The study focused on analyzing the exercise status, brassiere-wearing conditions, purchase conditions, preferred design and functionality by age as well as exercise strength based on 393 questionnaires. Middle-aged women favorite exercises included running, yoga and golfing; in addition the most important purpose to exercises was healthcare. The largest number of respondents exercised once to three times a week for 3 years or longer. The analysis on sports brassiere-wearing conditions by exercise strength showed that those who favor intense exercise tended to wear sports brassieres more frequently. In addition, many complained about breast-shaking and an unsatisfactory shape when they wore a sports brassiere. The analysis on purchase conditions showed that increased interest in intense sports led to more use of specialized sports shops. The analysis of the design and functionality preference showed that increased interest in intense sports increased interest in a body-wrapping sports brassiere design. The most frequently required functions also included the prevention of breast-shaking and a fixed brassiere-position.

To provide the basic information of the brassiere development for women with poor breast, we performed the survey on their wearing habits for brassieres by comparing the poor breast type women and the normal breast type women. Also, to suggest the advanced design methods for the mould brassiere for the poor breast women, we conducted the subjective wear test of commercial mould brassieres and measured the local thickness for mould cup under various loads. As the results, the good fitness of cup and wire, the natural wear silhouette, and the adaptation of soft and stretchy material for mould cup were very important to design the comfortable brassiere for the poor breast type. The good-fitness of upper cup was the key factor for the satisfactory wear appearance of brassiere and the cup should be designed not too thick at the upper and the bust point regions.
