The prediction of quality characteristics during the design phase of a construction project was fragmented, because no particular method exists. One of the most important key responses is the total displacements (horizontal and vertical). A brainstorming session produces the quality parameters i.e. the control factors which here are identified as: the steel joint, the pile's length, the excavation depth and angle, the distance between the piles, the anchor stretch and length to name just some of the most engaging in the design. The purpose of this study is to optimise these parameters to minimize the total displacements following a methodology based on Taguchi method. For this reason, a 2-level, L₈ orthogonal array has been employed to organize the experimentation. Data is obtained from a real-life excavation project designed on the Plaxis v.8 CAE package. Taguchi analysis is performed in the statistical package Minitab.

Recently, increasing interests in local foods have been highlighted along with active efforts and activities from autonomy organizations to develop local cultures and promote local economies by generating value added products and profits through the development of local foods. Subsequently, useful effects might result by making local foods attractive to tourists, such as by using indigenous Gimpo products to make menu items that incorporate the social, economic, and cultural aspects of the Gimpo area, and contributing to its food culture, the development and use of its indigenous products, and promoting local restaurant businesses, etc. The items of the survey used to select the local food menu items to be developed were limited to ideas offered by expert groups, and were implemented by a new menu development process. In order to derive the menu items to develop, the following method was applied: a brainstorming session with experts to generate and draft ideas, a questionnaire to chefs and cooks in special grade hotels is Seoul to select the menu items to develop from those drafted, and sensory evaluations by experts to evaluate the developed items. Frequency analysis and technical statistical analysis were performed using the SPSS 12.0 program package, where 13 kinds of local foods were ultimately developed using indigenous products of Gimpo. The developed local food menu items were rice & grape sujaebi, grape sikhae, fried rice embryo bud, grape yanggaeng, rice pancakes, rice spaghetti, grape seed oil dressing, grape sauce, rice pizza, grape pie, rice & grape ice cream, grape chocolate, and rice roll cakes.

Motorola which had developed and commercialized wireless telephone and mobile phone for the first time in the world made a decision on the separation of the mobile unit from the Motorola due to the continuous bad performance turn. In addition, the Korean company named Raincom which had developed and commercialized MP3 player have been disappeared since Raincom failed to compete with iPod of Apples. What is the main cause the companies that have been top of the world level weed out of IT product market? For less product life cycle and globalization of market, the company's competitiveness tends to be determined based on company's creative capability, rather than process implementation capability. Thus, companies spent a great amount of time and effort in the introduction of creativity management and R&D activities. However, as company's continuous investment on R&D and innovation activities did not lead to business performance, they starts to pay much attention on the effective R&D and innovation activities. Therefore, this paper tries to solve the limitation of the effectiveness of R&D activities by introducing the concept of 'creative quality'. The creative quality is executed by the creative process, which is designed for getting over the limitation of the traditional brainstorming method. This paper presents the concept so called 'creative quality management' and expects it to be an alternative to conquest the limitation of six sigma management.

스마트 시대로 접어들면서 정보통신기술의 발달이 성숙기에 이르고 우리의 삶과 사회에 ICT가 미치는 영향이 점차 심화되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 경영정보학(MIS) 교수들이 중심이 된 국제정보시스템학회(Association of Information Systems: AIS)에서 2014년 12월에는 "ICT-enabled Bright Society Initiative(약칭 Bright ICT)"를 미래 비전 아젠다로 채택하였다. 본 연구에서는 Bright ICT Initiative에서 수행할 연구 아젠다 아이템들을 찾아내어 전략적 우선순위를 정하고 세부 프로그램을 논의하기 위한 기초 작업으로 brainstorming, clustering, ranking 의 단계를 거치는 델파이 스터디를 진행하였다. 연구 결과 11개의 주요 이슈를 발굴하였고 이어지는 설문조사를 통해 각 이슈들의 중요도 순위를 분석하였다. 나아가 각 이슈가 개인, 기업, 사회/국가에 미치는 영향의 중요도에 있어 연령과 성별에 따른 차이를 분석하였다.

A designer is mainly supported by two essential factors in design decisions. These two factors are intelligence and experience aiding the designer by predicting the interconnection between the required design parameters. Through classification of product data and similarity recognition between new and existing designs, it is partially possible to replace the required experience for an inexperienced designer. Given this context, the current paper addresses a framework for recognition and flexible retrieval of similar models in product design. The idea is to establish an infrastructure for transferring design as well as the required PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) know-how to the design phase of product development in order to reduce the design time. Furthermore, such a method can be applied as a brainstorming method for a new and creative product development as well. The proposed framework has been tested and benchmarked while showing promising results.

In this paper, we searched for impact factors by brainstorming and calculated the weights of them using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method in order to develop energy technology strategy for the future. AHP is a useful method for evaluating multi-criteria decision making problems. We selected 3 criteria(possibility of success for developing technology, application of the technology, technical spin-off) and 10 sub-criteria. According to the result in this study, the most important sub-criterion is the possibility of commercialization, the second is the possibility of developing the fundamental technology, and the third is the possibility of convergence technology. The other side, the lowest important sub-criterion is the difference of technical standards as compared with advanced countries.

TRIZ is innovative problem solving methodology. It can solve problems by systematical and convergent method, not by the existing divergent method like 'Brainstorming'. In this paper, TRIZ is used for reduction noise from gear in transmission. In order to reduce gear noise, design resources is derived first. According to the derived idea, level and function of system can be defined. After that, we suggest a way to reduce the noise from gear in transmission using 40 Principles and Substance-field analysis of TRIZ.

Recently, there are many corporations, schools and institutes that apply TRIZ to solve technical problems. However, in reality, only a few cases of brainstorming applications exist in utilizing forty principles of TRIZ due to the difficulty at TRIZ problem definition. In order to facilitate TRIZ applications, this study proposes the utilization of requirement definition and description tool of systems engineering in TRIZ problem definition. No requirement definition exists in general problem types that TRIZ approach is used in implementing system solution. At most of problem situations, TRIZ users reversely infer that certain problem belongs to which requirement definition it is and recommends TRIZ tools to be used for the exact problem definition. This study also proposes TRIZ problem definition method by applying the results of requirement definition process. The application of TRIZ is demonstrated to the general situation with no problem definition where the proposed method enables the proper use of TRIZ.

The objective of this study is to present a new design method at the idea brainstorming process, which requires a great deal of time and effort to seek their own ideas in existing design process and to develop a user support idea forms generation system called OCIGS (Openware Creative Idea Generation System) that makes it possible to create a variety and 3D forms as well as a quantitative evaluation data for the actual types that compose the aesthetic factors and designs of qualitative standards. In order to achieve these objectives : First, overcoming the limitation of 3D form generation ability by establishing visual application system, Second, accepting users' opinions by generating 3D images dynamically, analysing and giving information on the preferred ones on the web on real time, Third, identifying tendency of preference so that they can generate preferred colors and images in future by updating image combination and dropping low-preferred ones. This system would play a role as an idea or form generation application in the actual 3d form design development process.

제품의 개념설계 단계에서 효과적으로 사용될 수 있는 TRIZ 이론이 소개 되었으며, 그것의 몇가지 응용 예를 기술하였다. 제품의 개념설계 단계에서는 지금까지 비정형화된 방법 기존의 설계결과물 및 설계자의 경험과 직관에 상당부분 의존하여 작업이 수행되 었는데, TRIZ이론에서는 이것을 체계적인 방법으로 수행할 수 있는 기법들을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 이런 기법들 중 공학 설계 부분에 많이 이용되는 것들을 중심으로 설명하였으며, 이것을 고속철도 개념설계 단계에 적용하여 기존의 설계결과를 TRIZ 이론을 통하여도 얻어낼 수 있음을 보여주었다.
