Physicochemical Properties of Oxidized Rice Flour and Effects of Added Oxidized Rice Flour on the Textural Properties of Julpyun(Korean traditional rice cake) during Storage (TEMPO를 이용하여 산화시킨 쌀가루의 이화학적 특성 및 산화 쌀가루를 첨가한 절편의 저장 중 텍스처 특성)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidine oxoammonium ion(TEMPO) and sodium bromide(NaBr) for the selective oxidation on primary alcohol groups of rice starch molecules in rice flour and to use oxidized rice flour in Julpyun to extend its shelf life. Reaction time decreased with higher levels of TEMPO and NaBr. Yield and selectivity decreased with increased NaBr levels. TEMPO increased yield until certain levels, but decreased thereafter. The levels of TEMPO and NaBr for the preparation of oxidized rice flour were determined as 0.9 and 44 mM/100 mM anhydroglucose unit, respectively. Water and oil binding capacities, and viscosity increased significantly by the oxidation of rice flour. The partial replacement of rice flour with oxidized rice flour increased peak viscosity and decreased setback. Oxidized rice flour with the increased amount of water showed positive effect on the textural properties of Julpyun during storage.

  • 1. 목적 Osteotome 상악동거상술(Bone Added Odteotome Sinus Floor Elevation ; 이하 BAOSFE) 과 동시에 식립한 임프란트($Br{\aa}nemark$, ITI)의 예상 생존율에 대해 현재까지 정확히 알려진 바는 없었으며, $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite 과 ITI SLA 임프란트의 표면에 대한 비교 연구 또한없었다. 이번 연구는 BAOSFE 술식과 동시에 식립한 $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite 과 ITI SLA 임프란트의 임상 결과를 비교, 평가하고 초기 치유기간 동안의 이식골 높이의 변화를 방사선학적으로 관찰하여 두 가지 임프란트 시스템을 비교해 보고자 한다. 2. 방법 위축된 상악 구치부를 갖는 22명의 환자를 대상으로, BAOSFE술식과동시에 $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite(11명, 13 임프란트)임프란트와 ITI SLA(11명, 18 임프란트)임프란트를 식립하였다. 수술 전, 임프란트 식립 직후, 술후 6개월의 파노라마 방사선 사진을 촬영하여 비교 및 평가에 사용하였다. 각 임프란트 시스템의 생존율을 측정하고, 술전 상악동저 높이와 식립된 임프란트 길이를 참고하여 이식골 높이의 방사선학적 변화를 평가하였다. 3. 결과 평균12개월의 추적기간 결과, $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite 임프란트의 생존율은 100%(13/13 임프란트)이었으며, ITI SLA 임프란트의 생존율은 94.4%(17/18 임프란트)이었다. 초기 치유 기간인 6개월 동안 평균 이식골 높이의 감소는 $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite 임프란트에서 0.67mm(10.73%), ITI SLA 임프란트에서는 0.55mm(8.18%)로 나타났다. 두 가지 임프란트 시스템 간의 유의성 있는 차이는 보이지 않았다. 4. 고찰 BAOSFE 술식과 동시식립한 $Br{\aa}nemark$ Ti-Unite 과 ITl SLA 임프란트는 위축된 상악 구치부를 갖는 환자에서 효과적인 치료방법이 될 수 있으며, 임프란트 표면에 따른 이식골의 치유 반응은 두 가지 임프란트 시스템에서 유사한 양상으로 일어남을 알 수 있었다.

Inhibitory Role of TRIP-Br1/XIAP in Necroptosis under Nutrient/Serum Starvation

  • Currently, many available anti-cancer therapies are targeting apoptosis. However, many cancer cells have acquired resistance to apoptosis. To overcome this problem, simultaneous induction of other types of programmed cell death in addition to apoptosis of cancer cells might be an attractive strategy. For this purpose, we initially investigated the inhibitory role of TRIP-Br1/XIAP in necroptosis, a regulated form of necrosis, under nutrient/serum starvation. Our data showed that necroptosis was significantly induced in all tested 9 different types of cancer cell lines in response to prolonged serum starvation. Among them, necroptosis was induced at a relatively lower level in MCF-7 breast cancer line that was highly resistant to apoptosis than that in other cancer cell lines. Interestingly, TRIP-Br1 oncogenic protein level was found to be very high in this cell line. Up-regulated TRIP-Br1 suppressed necroptosis by repressing reactive oxygen species generation. Such suppression of necroptosis was greatly enhanced by XIAP, a potent inhibitor of apoptosis. Our data also showed that TRIP-Br1 increased XIAP phosphorylation at serine87, an active form of XIAP. Our mitochondrial fractionation data revealed that TRIP-Br1 protein level was greatly increased in the mitochondria upon serum starvation. It suppressed the export of CypD, a vital regulator in mitochondria-mediated necroptosis, from mitochondria to cytosol. TRIP-Br1 also suppressed shikonin-mediated necroptosis, but not TNF-α-mediated necroptosis, implying possible presence of another signaling pathway in necroptosis. Taken together, our results suggest that TRIP-Br1/XIAP can function as onco-proteins by suppressing necroptosis of cancer cells under nutrient/serum starvation.

Effects of Touchpad &Buttons Positions in a Laptop Computer on EMG Amplitude and Median Frequency of Muscles Relating to Wrist and Shoulder (랩탑 컴퓨터 터치패드와 클릭버튼 위치에 따른 손목과 어깨 부위 근육의 EMG 진폭 및 중앙 주파수 변화)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the association between touchpad &buttons locations in a laptop computer and EMG amplitude and median frequency in muscles related with wrist and shoulder. Based on previous studies it was shown how abductions in wrist and shoulder could cause musculoskeletal disorders in those body parts, on which research hypotheses were established. Touchpad &buttons positions consisted of bottom center(BC), bottom center with $45^{\circ}$ rotation counterclockwise(BCR), and bottom right(BR). 10 subjects performed the task that required only touchpad &buttons usage with their preferred hand and EMG amplitude and median frequency data were recorded during 5min and analyzed afterwards. Upper trapezius and flexor carpi ulnaris were selected as target muscles. The results showed that in flexor carpi ulnaris BC resulted in greater amplitude and less median frequency than BCR and BR, but there was no significant difference between BCR and BR. In upper trapezius BC and BCR induced higher amplitude and lower median frequency than BR, but the significant difference between BC and BCR was not observed. Those phenomena occurred since BC gave rise to both wrist and shoulder abduction, BCR caused only shoulder one, and BR did not lead to abductions in both wrist and shoulder.

  • Objectives : This study was carried to identify the component of the Pericardium Meridian Muscle in human. Methods : The regional muscle group was divided into outer, middle, and inner layer. The inner part of body surface were opened widely to demonstrate muscles, nerve, blood vessels and to expose the inner structure of the Pericardium Meridian Muscle in the order of layers. Results We obtained the results as follows; He Perfcardium Meridian Muscle composed of the muscles, nerves and blood vessels. In human anatomy, it is present the difference between terms (that is, nerves or blood vessels which control the muscle of the Pericardium Meridian Muscle and those which pass near by the Pericardium Meridian Muscle). The inner composition of the Pericardium Meridian Muscle in human is as follows ; 1) Muscle P-1 : pectoralis major and minor muscles, intercostalis muscle(m.) P-2 : space between biceps brachialis m. heads. P-3 : tendon of biceps brachialis and brachialis m. P-4 : space between flexor carpi radialis m. and palmaris longus m. tendon(tend.), flexor digitorum superficialis m., flexor digitorum profundus m.   • Wet masterbatch (WMB) technology is studied to develop high-content and highly disperse silica-filled compounds. This technology refers to the solidification of surface-modified silica with a rubber solution or latex. Until now, researchs based on styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)/silica WMB has been mainly performed. However, the blending of SBR/silica WMB and BR is not known and is currently under research and development. Therefore, in this study, the BR blending method suitable for emulsion (ESBR)/silica WMB is investigated by measuring their cure characteristics and the mechanical and dynamic viscoelastic properties. As a result, it was confirmed that the blending of ESBR/silica WMB and BR/silica dry masterbatch is most appropriate. However, it showed a disadvantage compared with the conventional mixing method, which was due to the surfactant remained and the sulfuric acid used as the coagulant.

Effect of Plating Condition and Plating Rate on the Magnetic Properties of Electroless Co-Cu-P Deposits (무전해 Co-Cu-P 도금층의 자성에 미치는 도금조건과 도금속도의 영향)

  • The effect of bath composition, plating condition and plating rate on the magnetic property of electroless Co-Cu-P deposits were investigated. With increasing $CuCl_2$ concentration in the bath, plating rate increased, while the Br value of deposit decreased sharply. Deposited surface were inferiority by the increase pH above 10.5, bath temperature higher than $80^{\circ}C$. Plating reaction had been ceased by the increase of pH above 11, bath temperature higher than $90^{\circ}C$ and under $40^{\circ}C$. The Br value of deposit was uniform with various concentration of complexing agent(sodium citrate) in the bath. The Br value of deposit was almost equal to that found by the addition of stabilizer (thiourea) and accelerator(NaF). The Br value of deposit was uniform in plating time(20min) and heat treatment temperature(below $200^{\circ}C$), and were confirmed to have adequate bath stability for practical use.

The Br value of deposit was uniform in plating time(120 min) and heat treatment temperature(below $200^{\circ}C$), and were confirmed to have adequate bath stability for practical use.

  • The rubradirin biosynthetic gene cluster harbors 58 ORFs within a 105.6-kb sequence, which includes all of the genes responsible for the synthesis of rubradirin, as well as the primary genes relevant to regulatory, resistance, and transport functions. This gene cluster also harbors a resistance-mediating ABC transporter, RubT1, which is located at the most upstream position in the cluster. In the present study, RubT1 was expressed heterologously in E. coli, and the resistance affinity of RubT1 was determined by an antibacterial activity test, as well as by HPLC and ESI-MS analyses. Evidence clearly demonstrates that RubTl mediates rubradirin resistance as an ABC transporter.

Biotransformation of Flavone by CYP105P2 from Streptomyces peucetius

  • Biocatalytic transfer of oxygen in isolated cytochrome P450 or whole microbial cells is an elegant and efficient way to achieve selective hydroxylation. Cytochrome P450 CYP105P2 was isolated from Streptomyces peucetius that showed a high degree of amino acid identity with hydroxylases. Previously performed homology modeling, and subsequent docking of the model with flavone, displayed a reasonable docked structure. Therefore, in this study, in a pursuit to hydroxylate the flavone ring, CYP105P2 was co-expressed in a two-vector system with putidaredoxin reductase (camA) and putidaredoxin (camB) from Pseudomonas putida for efficient electron transport. HPLC analysis of the isolated product, together with LC-MS analysis, showed a monohydroxylated flavone, which was further established by subsequent ESI/MS-MS. A successful 10.35% yield was achieved with the whole-cell bioconversion reaction in Escherichia coli. We verified that CYP105P2 is a potential bacterial hydroxylase.
