모듈형 수관식 보일러를 위한 열교환 모듈의 열전달 특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics of Heat Exchange Module for a Water Tube Type Modular Boiler)

  • A finned tube type heat exchange module has been proposed for a multi-burner water tube boiler. Fin density and length increase in streamwise direction to equalize the evaporation for each module, which makes it difficult to apply conventional bulk design procedure. The design program has been improved by updating data for every row of tubes along the flow. A numerical simulation has been also conducted to evaluate the effect of inlet conditions and validated with experiment. The heat transfer of the first row has been underpredicted by the conventional Zhukauskas correlation, since the acceleration of the flow due to the blockage is not fully inflected. The fin tip temperature is also underpredicted by Bessel solution, because of the interaction with neighboring fins.

  • In the present study, an experiment was conducted to investigate the heat and mass transfer performance of heat exchangers used in the condensing gas boiler. Two types of spiral circular fin-tube heat exchangers and a plain tube were tested in the flue gas of propane and dry air. Heat and mass transfer coefficients were measured and compared with the previous correlations. The experimental data for the sensible heat transfer of the plain tube reasonably agreed with the previous correlations for dry air and flue gas. However, the mass transfer coefficient of the plain tube was greater than the previous correlations. The pH, $NO_x$, and $SO_x$ data of condensate were provided.

  • Most of the fossil power plants firing lower grade coals are challenged with maintaining good combustion conditions while maximizing generation and minimizing emissions. In many cases significant derate, availability losses and increase in unburned carbon levels can be attributed to poor combustion conditions as a result of poorly controlled local fuel and air distribution within the boiler furnace. The poor combustion conditions are directly related to the gas flow deviation in upper furnace and convection tube-bank but a less reported issue related to in large-scale oppose wall fired boilers. In order to develop a on-line combustion monitoring system and suggest an alternative heat flux estimation method at tube bank, which is very useful information for boiler design tool and blower optimizing system, field test was conducted at operating power boiler. During the field test the exhaust gases' temperature and tube metal temperature were monitored by using a spatially distributed sensors grid which located in the boiler's high temperature vestibule region. At these locations. the flue gas flow is still significantly stratified, and air in-leakage is minimal which enables tracing of poor combustion zones to specific burners and over-fire air ports. Test results showed that the flue gas monitoring method is more proper than metal temperature distribution monitoring for real time combustion monitoring because tube metal temp. distribution monitoring method is related to so many variables such as flue gas, internal flow unbalance, spray etc., Heat flux estimation at the tube bank with flue gas temp. and metal temp. data can be alternative method when tube drilling type sensor can't able to use.

과열기 관군에서의 증기유량 균일 배분 연구 (A Study on the Uniform Distribution of Steam Flow in the Superheater Tube System)

  • The boiler tube failure often experienced in the superheater of a utility boiler can seriously affect the economic and safe operation of the power plant. It has been known that this failure is mainly caused by the thermal load deviation in the superheater tube system, and deeply intensified by the non-uniform distribution of steam flow rates. The nonuniform steam flow is distinctively prominent at low power load rather than at full power load. In this paper, we analyze the steam flow distribution in the superheater tube system by using one dimensional flow network model. At 30% power load, the deviation of steam flow rate is predicted to be within 0.8% of the averaged flow rate. This deviation can be reduced to 0.1% and 0.07% by assuming two cases, that is, the removal of 13th tube at each tube rows and the installation of intermediate header, respectively. The assumed two cases would be effective for the uniform steam flow distribution across 85 superheater tube rows.

  • Operating medium or large scale industrial boilers in partial load condition, the burner should undergo the off-design points resulting in poor exhaust gas characteristics. To obtain the stable turn down performance, two or more burners can be used for the industrial boiler. In case multiple burners are adopted, the heat transfer can be enhanced by arranging the burners properly. In the present study, numerical simulations have been conducted for the combustion chamber of a 2 t/h class industrial boiler in order to clarify the heat transfer characteristics at the combustion chamber.

  • 비산회에 의한 보일러 튜브 마모 문제는 석탄화력 보일러 튜브 파손에 주요한 요인이 된다. 때문에 튜브 보호막이나 다공판 등이 마모 문제 완화를 위하여 사용되고 있다. 그러나 비산회에 의한 튜브마모 문제는 이런 방법을 통하여 완전히 해결될 수 없는데 이는 보일러 마다 유동 조건이 다를 뿐만아니라 예상치 못한 위치에서 국부적으로 마모가 심화될 수 있기 때문이다. 문제는 보일러 내부 비대칭 유동과 국부적 유속 증가에서 기인함으로 튜브 마모 문제의 해결에 있어서 보일러 내부 유동을 명확히 파악하는 것이 무엇 보다 중요하다 하겠다. 본 연구에서는 튜브 마모 문제에 해결을 위해 사용되는 Cold Air Velocity Technique(CAVT)에 대하여 고찰하고 하동화력 2호기 보일러에 대하여 CAVT를 실제 적용함으로써 석탄화력 보일러에 있어서 CAVT 적용 가능성을 검증하였다.

  • In the last five years, 45 people died and 104 were wounded because of carbon monoxide poisoning accident. CO poisoning accident is higher than any other gas accident in the rate of deaths/incidents. Most of these CO poisoning accidents were caused by defective exhaust tube in the old gas boiler and multi-use facility. In this study, the spread of CO gas released from leakage hole of exhaust tube was analyzed by computational flow modeling and concentration measuring test. CO gas leaked form exhaust tube in a building was highest concentrated near the ceiling and formed the circular currents along the walls. Through these experiments and simulation, the reasonable installation location of CO alarm was made certain and suggested.

  • 석탄화력 발전소 보일러의 부식 메카니즘에 대한 실증적 고찰을 위하여 500MW 표준화력 발전소 보일러에 대한 보일러 튜브의 두께측정 및 수치해석을 병행하여 분석을 시행하였다. 그 결과 접선연소방식의 보일러 수냉벽 튜브의 부식에 가장 핵심적인 영향을 미치는 메카니즘은 퇴적된 미연탄소분에 포함된 유황분에 의한 부식이었으며, 두 번째 요소는 보일러 내부에서 국부적인 환원성 분위기가 생성되는 위치에서의 $H_2S$ 가스에 의한 부식으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 수냉벽튜브 부식을 완화시키기 위해서는 보일러의 다단연소 운전을 감소시키는 것이 필요하며, 미연분 감소를 위한 엄격한 미분도 관리 및 부식 취약부위에 대한 내부식 코팅보강 작업이 필요하다.
