Study on the Microstructural Degradation of the Boiler Tubes for Coal-Fired Power Plants

  • A boiler system transforms water to pressured supercritical steam which drives the running of the turbine to rotate in the generator to produce electricity in power plants. Materials for building the tube system face challenges from high temperature creep damage, thermal fatigue/expansion, fireside and steam corrosion, etc. A database on the creep resistance strength and steam oxidation of the materials is important to the long-term reliable operation of the boiler system. Generally, the ferritic steels, i.e., grade 1, grade 2, grade 9, and X20, are extensively used as the superheater (SH) and reheater (RH) in supercritical (SC) and ultra supercritcal (USC) power plants. Currently, advanced austenitic steel, such as TP347H (FG), Super304H and HR3C, are beginning to replace the traditional ferritic steels as they allow an increase in steam temperature to meet the demands for increased plant efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to provide the state-of-the-art knowledge on boiler tube materials, including the strengthening, metallurgy, property/microstructural degradation, oxidation, and oxidation property improvement and then describe the modern microstructural characterization methods to assess and control the properties of these alloys. The paper covers the limited experience and experiment results with the alloys and presents important information on microstructural strengthening, degradation, and oxidation mechanisms.

  • In this paper, it is described that digital back-up control system is developed and applied to the thermal power boiler control system which consists of many kinds of analog electronic cards. Also, by the installation of this system in ulsan power pllant, it was proven to have excellent capabilities of fault detection and digital back-up control.

  • This study is concerned with the improvement of the Automatic Boiler Control and Turbine Governor system to maintain line - frequency within $60{\pm}0.1\;HZ$. This describes the current problems of plant control system, the method, and equipments to be developed for each plant based on the experimental test were carried out at field, and, lastly, the results of the study with the progress of it.

  • There are generator/turbine/boiler control system in the thermal power plant. By the way, the manufacturers are different each other in many cases. Therefore there were many difficulties in interface and maintenance of power plant. So, we have been developing the integration of all control system in a single manufacturer. Mill & burner control is analyzed in this paper.

  • There are lots of disturbance in the super heater temperature control system of power plant boiler as follows. 1.Burner light off. 2.Excess Air. 3.Burner tilt. 4.G.R fan flow. Temperature control system of super heater in the power plant has delay time about 5 min. So it is difficult to control the super heater temperature in the power plant. This paper show us the application of domestic development DCS to control the super heater temperature in seoul #5 thermal power plant unit.

  • 국산 개발 분산 제어시스템의 발전 설비에의 적용을 위해서는 시뮬레이터를 이용한 제어 시스템의 기능 및 신뢰성 등의 검증이 선행되어야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 제어 시스템 검증용 시뮬레이터를 개발하는데 있어서, 제어 모델 중 발전소 기동 초기에 보일러 압력을 조절하고, 정상 운전 중 보일러의 과대 압력 상승을 방지하기 위해 보일러에서 발생한 증기를 복수기로 방출하는 터빈 바이패스 계통의 제어 모델을 개발하였다. 제어 모델 개발을 위해, 통합 시뮬레이션 개발 환경에서 활용가능한 제어 로직 구현 툴을 개발하였다. 또한 개발한 툴의 기능은 개별 기능 블럭의 설계 사양에 기반한 시뮬레이션에 의해 검증을 하였으며, 개발한 툴을 이용하여 고압 터빈 바이패스 계통의 압력 제어 로직을 구현하였다. 500 MW급 표준 석탄화력 발전소 공정 모델과 보일러 제어 모델, 터빈 제어 모델 등 타 계통의 제어 모델과의 연계를 통한 통합 시뮬레이션을 통해 개발한 제어 모델의 효용성을 확인하였다.

  • Air preheater uses the waste heat of the gas which burnt from the boiler from the thermal power plant. Air preheater it is established in the exit of the boiler follows in change of temperature combustion gas and the vibration which it follows in thermal expansion and contraction occurs. Air preheater with ruse the gas the seal the place where it includes a gap in the structure which it does, the vibration which it follows in change of temperature fluctuates the displacement of gap, fluctuation of the leakage quantity which occurs from gap there is a possibility of decreasing an effect to system. Part system it will be able to control the interval of gap in order, control mechanism about under establishing the place where it does the gap control actively, measures a gap the displacement sensor for is necessary. Like this displacement sensor the condition must do continuous running from atmosphere of high temperature was demanded all. This paper investigates the implementation instance of hazard existing which implement the high temperature displacement sensor, it analyzes, produces the result which it examines a model, it was a presentation. These results with the fact that it will contribute in the research for the implementation and a localization of the high temperature displacement sensor and advanced air preheater.

  • 본 논문은 모바일 전화기를 사용하여 가정용 전자 기기를 제어하기 위한 시스템에 대하여 기술한다. 현재 홈 네트워크 산업은 급성장하는 네트워크 시대에 맞추어 많은 관심을 얻고 있으며 현존하는 시스템의 호응도 역시 높아지고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이와 관련하여 모바일 전화기를 사용하여 가정에 있는 보일러 온도를 원격으로 조절하기 위한 시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 서버와의 통신을 위한 모바일 프로그래밍, 모바일 브루(Brew), RF 무선 통신 등의 기술을 실험에 사용하였다. 본 논문은 홈오토메이션 구성에 있어서의 RF 무선통신 및 모바일 기기를 사용한 또 다른 방법을 제시하였으며, 홈 네트워크 산업의 발전에 조금이나마 기여할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

보일러 급수펌프용 1500lb 고차압 제어밸브 국산화 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Localization of 1500lb High-Pressure Drop Control Valve for Boiler Feedwater Pump)

  • We developed a prototype from the design of a trim, which is the most important in the localization development of a 1500 Ib high-differential pressure-control valve used for boiler feedwater, and measured the flow coefficient, the most basic design data for valves. The following conclusions were drawn. The comparison of the design values of the flow coefficients for the existing X-trim and the multicore trim designed for localization development showed that they were almost identical, and the X-trim value was slightly lower. The comparison of the X-trim and multicore trim based on the valve flow coefficient test showed that they were generally similar, indicating no problem with the design. In the future, we plan to compare and analyze the flow paths for the X-trim and multicore trim via flow analysis.
