화력 발전소 보일러 제어 시스템의 구성에 관한 연구 (Configuration of a Boiler Control System in Thermal Power Plant)

  • In this paper, a boiler control system for thermal power plant is configured. The boiler control system for thermal power plant is largely composed of an ABC(Automatic Boiler Control) system and a MBC(Mill Burner Control) system. ABC system controls analog process values, so almost all analog control logic is dealt with in ABC system. On the other hand, MBC system relates to sequence control logic such as MFT logic, Furnace Purge, Safety related logic. Advanced control systems made from advanced countries deal with an ABC system and MBC system in a distributed control system. In this paper, we adopt a DCS as an ABC system and adopt a PLC system as a MBC system to configure a boiler control system for thermal power plant using domestic control system. Finally the validity of the configured boiler control system is shown via simulation using digital simulator for boiler system in thermal power plant.

  • Condensing gas boiler units may make a big role for the reduction of energy consumption in heating industries. In order to decrease the energy consumption of a condensing gas boiler unit, the effective operations and controls of the system are necessary. In this study, mathematical models of a condensing gas boiler system were developed and programmed in order to predict dynamic behaviors of the system. These include dynamic models for a blower, a gas valve, a pump, a burner, a boiler heat exchanger, and a hot water heat exchanger. Control algorithms for the control of a gas valve, a blower, and a pump were also assumed. Simulation results showed good predictions of the dynamic phenomena of a boiler system. Therefore, the simulation program developed for this study may be effectively used for the development of control algorithms of the boiler system.

드럼보일러의 제어성 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Control System Performance of Drum Boiler)

  • The control system of a drum boiler is very complex since the evaporization process in the boiler is a multivariable system which is affected one another. This study is concerned with the dynamic characteristics of the boiler process and improving methods of performance of a drum boiler control system. The PID control with feedforward of disturbances and the optimal regulator are compared, and the effects of control parameters on the performance of a boiler control system are investigated. From simulation, it is found that profer adjustment of control parameters significant improvement of response and that performance of a optimal regulated control system is better than that of a conventional PID control system.

  • In this paper, the design of boiler drum level control system is important in power plant is studied. First of all, pressure compansation of level for boiler drum which is close tank with high temperature and pressure is designed. Physical penomena of drum level are analysed, controllers are designed, and simulation results are shown. Designed controller have a good performance compare with PI controller. Predictive controller of boiler drum level control system is proposed. It will be good system for boiler drum level control to reject the disturbance according to lead increase or decrease.

Retrofit of Analog Boiler Control Systems with Digital Control Systems in a Thermal Power Plant

  • This paper presents the case that the existing analog control systems were retrofitted with digital DCS(Distributed Control System)s for boiler unit in thermal power plant. Replacement of existing worn-out or obsolete analog control systems has been considered. Replacement of existing analog control systems with another analog control systems has lots of difficulties in maintaining the systems due to being out of stock. Due to those difficulties, existing analog control systems have been retrofitted with digital DCSs in many industrial sites. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) accomplished the project that retrofitted analog control systems with the developed DCSs for boiler unit in middle-scale coal-fired thermal power plant. The benefits of an upgrade to digital control include a increase of reliability due to system redundancy, ease of modifying the control logic and the parameters of function block, ease of maintenance due to available spare parts, improvement of information display, ease of modifying MMI(Man Machine Interface) displays, a increase in system availability, and improvement of control performance. This paper describes how to use the parameters of existing analog controllers, the implementation of digital PID controller, control system configuration for boiler unit in thermal power plant, some boiler control loops, control result during commissioning, and the comparison of boiler characteristic test data after retrofitting with the existing test data.

  • The aim of this paper is to suggest a design method of the model following optimal boiler-turbine H.inf. control system using genetic algorithm. This boiler-turbine H.inf. control system is designed by applying genetic algortihm with reference model to the optimal determination of weighting functions and design parameter .gamma. that are given by Glover-Doyle algornithm whch can design H.inf. contrlaaer in the sate. space. The first method to do this is ghat the gains of weightinf functions and .gamma. are optimized simultaneously by genetic algroithm. And the second method is that not only the gains and .gamma. but also the dynamics of weighting functions are optimized at the same time by genetic algonithm. The effectiveness of this boiler-turbine H.inf. control system is verified and compared with LQG/LTR control system by computer simulation.

  • Condensing gas boiler units may make a big role for the reduction of energy consumption in heating industries. In order to decrease the energy consumption of a condensing gas boiler unit, the effective control of the system is necessary. In this study, control algorithms of a condensing gas boiler were developed. Control algorithms are composed of the setpoint algorithm and the control algorithm. The setpoint algorithm consists of the supply water temperature setpoint algorithm and the pump setpoint algorithm. The control algorithm consists of the gas valve control algorithm and the blower control algorithm. In order to analyse the performance of control algorithms, dynamic models of a condensing gas boiler system were used. Simulation results showed that control algorithms developed for this study may be practically applied to the condensing gas boiler.

  • An supercritical once through boiler system has been used in the korea standard-type thermal power plant. It is critical in boiler operation that superheater temperature should be controlled within the specified limit. In this paper, control logic scheme is suggested for superheater temperature in once through boiler. Finally the simulation result using process model based simulator shows the validity of suggested control logic.

  • This Paper presents an application of a on-line self-organizing fuzzy logic controller to a boiler system of fossil-power plant. A boiler-turbine system is described as a MIMO nonlinear system in this paper. Then, three single loop fuzzy logic controllers are designed independently. The control rules and the membership functions of proposed fuzzy logic control system are generated automatically without using plant model. The simulation shows successful results for wide range operation of boiler system of fossil-power plant.
