In this paper, we describe a hardware design of the SIMECK block cipher algorithm that can be implemented in lightweight hardware with appropriate security strength. To achieve fast encryption and decryption operations, it was designed using two-step method that reduces the number of operation rounds. The designed SIMECK cryptographic core was implemented in Arty S7-50 FPGA device and its hardware operation was verified with a GUI using Python.
This paper presents a high performance HIGHT processor that can be applicable for CCM mode. In fact, HIGHT algorithm is a 64-bit block cipher. However, the proposed HIGHT extends the basic block length to 128-bit. The proposed HIGHT is operated as 128-bit block cipher and it can treat 128-bit block at once. Thus, it can be applicable for the various WSN applications that need fast and ultralight 128-bit block cipher, in particular, to be operated in CCM mode. In addition, the proposed HIGHT processor shares the common logics such as 128-bit key scheduler and control logics during encryption and decryption to reduce the area overhead caused by the extension of data block length. From the simulation results, the circuit area and power consumption of the proposed HIGHT are increases as 40% and 64% compared to the conventional 64-bit counterpart. However, the throughput of the proposed HIGHT can be up to two times as fast. Consequently, the proposed HIGHT is useful for USN and handheld devices based on battery as well as RFID tag the size of circuit is less than 5,000 gates.

Differential Fault Analysis(DFA) is widely known for one of the most powerful method for analyzing block cipher. it is applicable to block cipher such as DES, AES, ARIA, SEED, and lightweight block cipher such as PRESENT, HIGHT. In this paper, we introduce a differential fault analysis on the lightweight block cipher LEA for the first time. we use 300 chosen fault injection ciphertexts to recover 128-bit master key. As a result of our attack, we found a full master key within an average of 40 minutes on a standard PC environment.

With the recent increase in spending growth in the IoT sector worldwide, the importance of lightweight block ciphers to encrypt them is also increasing. The lightweight block cipher PIPO algorithm proposed in ICISC 2020 is an SPN-structured cipher using an unbalanced bridge structure. The white box attack model refers to a state in which an attacker may know the intermediate value of the encryption operation. As a technique to cope with this, Chow et al. proposed a white box implementation technique and applied it to DES and AES in 2002. In this paper, we propose a white box PIPO applying a white box implementation to a lightweight block cipher PIPO algorithm. In the white box PIPO, the size of the table decreased by about 5.8 times and the calculation time decreased by about 17 times compared to the white box AES proposed by Chow and others. In addition, white box PIPO was used for mobile security products, and experimental results for each test case according to the scope of application are presented.

Presently, etwork is being in the existence as an influence can not be neglected. This rapid progress of network has gone with development of mobile network and information communication. But the development of network can generate serous social problems. So, it is highly required to control security of network. These problems related security will be developed and keep up to confront with anti-security part such as hacking, cracking. There's no way to preserve security from hacker or cracker without delvelopping new cryptographic algorithm or keeping the state of anti-cryptanalysis in a prescribed time by means of extendig key-length. Worldwidely, many researchers for network security are trying to handle these problems. In this paper, we proposed a new block cryptosystem. The Block cipher-Secure Electronic Xenogenesis Algorithm(B-SEXA) which is capable to cipher regardless of key distribution or key-length for these definite problem is proposed and designed in hardware. B-SEXA increase secret level from using a MDP and MLP in maximum is proposed to prevent cryptograpy analysis. The designed B-SEXA in this paper performed synthesization and simulation using Synopsys Vwe. 1999.10 and VHDL.

It is known that a single-key and a related-key attacks on AES-128 are possible for at most 7 and 8 rounds, respectively. The security of CMAC, a typical block-cipher-based MAC algorithm, has very high possibility of inheriting the security of the underlying block cipher. Since the attacks on the underlying block cipher can be applied directly to the first block of CMAC, the current security margin is not sufficient compared to what the designers of AES claimed. In this paper, we consider HMAC-DM-AES-128 as an alternative to CMAC-AES-128 and analyze its security for reduced rounds of AES-128. For 2-round AES-128, HMAC-DM-AES-128 requires the precomputation phase time complexity of $2^{97}$ AES, the online phase time complexity of $2^{98.68}$ AES and the data complexity of $2^{98}$ blocks. Our work is meaningful in the point that it is the first security analysis of MAC based on hash modes of AES.
This paper proposes a hardware structure and associated finite state machine designs sharing key scheduling circuitry to enhance the performance of the block cypher algorithm, HIGHT. It also introduces an efficient protocol applicable to RFID systems comprising the HIGHT block cipher algorithm. The new HIGHT structure occupies an area size small enough to accommodate tag applications. The structure yields twice higher performance them conventional HIGHT algorithms. The proposed protocol overcomes the security vulnerability of RFID tags and thereby strengthens the security of personal information.

The development of quantum computers and the emergence of quantum algorithms such as Shor's algorithm and Grover's algorithm pose a significant threat to the security of existing cipher systems. Quantum algorithms can efficiently perform mathematical operations that take a long time on traditional computers. This characteristic can significantly reduce the time it takes to break modern cipher systems that rely on mathematical problems. To prepare for quantum attacks based on these algorithms, existing ciphers must be implemented as quantum circuits. Many ciphers have already been implemented as quantum circuits, analyzing quantum resources required for attacks and verifying the quantum strength of the cipher. In this paper, we present quantum circuits for LED lightweight block ciphers and explain each function of quantum circuits. Thereafter, the resources for the LED quantum circuit are estimated and evaluated by comparing them with other lightweight block ciphers.

Lightweight block cipher (Lightweight Encryption Algorithm, LEA), is the most promising block cipher algorithm due to its efficient implementation feature and high security level. The LEA block cipher is widely used in real-field applications and there are many efforts to enhance the performance of LEA in terms of execution timing to achieve the high availability under any circumstances. In this paper, we enhance the performance of LEA block cipher, particularly on ARMv8 processors. The LEA implementation is optimized by using new SIMD instructions namely NEON engine and 24 LEA encryption operations are simultaneously performed in parallel way. In order to reduce the number of memory access, we utilized the all NEON registers to retain the intermediate results. Finally, we evaluated the performance of the LEA implementation, and the proposed implementations on Apple A7 and Apple A9 achieved the 2.4 cycles/byte and 2.2 cycles/byte, respectively.

Stream cipher was worse than block cipher in terms of security, but faster in execution speed as an advantage. However, since so far there have been many algorithm researches about the execution speed of block cipher, these days, there is almost no difference between them in the execution speed of AES. Therefore an secure and fast stream cipher development is urgently needed. In this paper, we propose a 32bit output fast stream cipher, AA32, which is composed of ASR(Arithmetic Shifter Register) and simple logical operation. Proposed algorithm is a cipher algorithm which has been designed to be implemented by software easily. AA32 supports 128bit key and executes operations by word and byte unit. As Linear Feedback Sequencer, ASR 151bit is applied to AA32 and the reduction function is a very simple structure stream cipher, which consists of two major parts, using simple logical operations, instead of S-Box for a non-linear operation. The proposed stream cipher AA32 shows the result that it is faster than SSC2 and Salsa20 and satisfied with the security required for these days. Proposed cipher algorithm is a fast stream cipher algorithm which can be used in the field which requires wireless internet environment such as mobile phone system and real-time processing such as DRM(Digital Right Management) and limited computational environments such as WSN(Wireless Sensor Network).
