To determine the size distributions of water-soluble inorganic ionic species (WSIS) in roadside aerosols, sampling experiments were carried out in the urban roadside area of Jeju City on August 2018 and January 2019 by using the eight-stage cascade impactor sampler. The mass of roadside aerosols were partitioned at 57% in fine fraction, 36-37% in coarse fraction, and 6-7% in giant fraction, regardless of summer and winter. The mass concentrations of WSIS except for Na+ and SO42- in roadside aerosols were higher in winter than in summer. The size distributions of Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Cl- were characterized by bimodal types with coarse particle mode peaking around 3.3-4.7 ㎛ and 5.8-9.0 ㎛. The size distributions of NO3- and K+ shifted from a single fine mode peaking around 0.7-1.1 ㎛ in winter to bimodal and/or trimodal types with peaks around coarse mode in summer. SO42- and NH4+ showed a single fine mode peaking around 0.7-1.1 ㎛. The MMAD of roadside aerosols was lower than that of Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Cl-. Based on the marine enrichment factors and the ratio values of WSIS and the corresponding value for sea water, the composition of roadside aerosols in Jeju City may be practically affected by terrestrial sources rather than marine source.
Barium titanyl oxalate(BTO) was precipatated by utilizing the thermal decomposition of dimethyl oxalate in acidic aqueous solution having $BaCl_2$ and $TiCl_4$. Particle morphology of BTO was influeneced by the various experimental factors. i.e.. the faster rate to nucleation with higher temperature and the higher ratio of [DMO]/[$Ba^{2+}+Ti^{4+}$] was found to correspond to the faster rate of transformation of particle size distribution from unimodal to broad unimodal through bimodal. The BT powder obtained by calcination at $900^{\circ}C$ in air consists of larger particles than BT generated by general coprecipitation method and shows tetragonal symmetry. The stirring during reaction was also found to have much effect upon characteristics of BTO and BT.
The relationship between SPM (Suspended Particulate Matter) and fungal spore in the air was investigated in Seosan, a rural county of Korea, in spring of 2000. SPM concentrations in the air were $199.8\mu{g}\;m^{-3}$, in the 1st Yellow Sand Period (March, 23-24), $249.4\mu{g}\;m^{-3}$ in the 2nd Yellow Sand Period (April, 7-9) and $98.9\mu{g}\;m^{-3}$ in the Non Yellow Sand Period (May, 12-16), respectively. Although there was somewhat difference in total SPM concentration between the two Yellow Sand Periods, majority of the total SPM were composed of $5\mu{m}$ sized coarse particles over the two periods. However, fine particles sized about $1\mu{m}$and coarse particles sized about $5-6\mu{m}$ ultimately showed peaks, which was within typical bimodal pattern at the graph of SPM size distribution in the Non Yellow Sand Period. Four mold genera grown from airborne fungal spores were finally identified in full-grown colonies at the SPM samples during the Yellow Sand Periods. These genera were Fusarium, Aspergillus, Penicillium and Basipetospora.
Solution polymerization behaviors of L-lactide using single and mixed aluminium catalyst systems were studied. Triisobutylaluminium (TIBA) was a reference catalyst for mixing. For the $Al(O-i-Pr)_3$/TIBA catalytic systems, the molecular weight of the resulting polylactide (PLA) decreased as the composition of $Al(O-i-Pr)_3$ increased. The higher molecular weight shoulder was revealed in their GPC curve. At TIBA of 80 mol% a bimodal GPC curve was shown. The conversion in the trimethylaluminium (TMA)/TIBA catalysts system decreased as the composition of TMA in the mixed catalyst increased. The conversion in the trioctylaluminium (TOA)/TIBA catalysts system decreased as the composition of TOA in the mixed catalyst increased. The unimodal molecular weight distribution was observed with the TOA/TIBA catalyst systems. The Al compounds-mixed catalyst could produce a higher molecular weight shoulder in the GPC curve.

Most of image binarization algorithms analyzes the intensity distribution using the histogram for the determination of threshold value. When the intensity difference between the foreground object and the background is great, the histogram shows the tendency to be bimodal and the selection of the histogram valley as the threshold value shows the good result. On the other side. when the intensity difference is not great and the histogram doesn't show the bimodal property, the histogram analysis doesn't support the selection of the proper threshold value. This Paper Proposed the novel binarization method that applies the fuzzy membership function to each color value on the RGB color model and, by using the operation results, separates the features having the great readability from the background. The proposed method prevents the loss of information incurred by the gray scale conversion by using the RGB color model and extracts effectively the readable features by using the fuzzy inference Compared with the traditional binarization methods, the proposed method is able to remove the majority of noise areas and show the improved results on the image of transport containers , etc.
The fundamental frequency, or f0, is an important acoustic measure in the prosody of human speech. The current study examined the f0 distribution of a corpus of spontaneous speech in order to provide normative data for Korean speakers. The corpus consists of 40 speakers talking freely about their daily activities and their personal views. Praat scripts were created to collect f0 values, and a majority of obvious errors were corrected manually by watching and listening to the f0 contour on a narrow-band spectrogram. Statistical analyses of the f0 distribution were conducted using R. The results showed that the f0 values of all the Korean speakers were right-skewed, with a pointy distribution. The speakers produced spontaneous speech within a frequency range of 274 Hz (from 65 Hz to 339 Hz), excluding statistical outliers. The mode of the total f0 data was 102 Hz. The female f0 range, with a bimodal distribution, appeared wider than that of the male group. Regression analyses based on age and f0 values yielded negligible R-squared values. As the mode of an individual speaker could be predicted from the median, either the median or mode could serve as a good reference for the individual f0 range. Finally, an analysis of the continuous f0 points of intonational phrases revealed that the initial and final segments of the phrases yielded several f0 measurement errors. From these results, we conclude that an examination of a spontaneous speech corpus can provide linguists with useful measures to generalize acoustic properties of f0 variability in a language by an individual or groups. Further studies would be desirable of the use of statistical measures to secure reliable f0 values of individual speakers.
The surface hydrology of large land areas is susceptible to several preferred stable states with transitions between stable states induced by stochastic fluctuation. This comes about due to the close couping of land surface and atmospheric interaction. An interesting and important issue is the duration of residence in each mode. Mean transition times between the stable modes are analyzed for different model parameters or climatic types. In an example situation of this differential equation exhibits a bimodal probability distribution of soil moisture states. Uncertainty analysis regarding the model parameters is performed using a Monte-Carlo simulation method. The method developed in this research may reveal some important characteristics of soil moisture or precipitation over a large area, in particular, those relating to abrupt change in soil moisture or preciptation having extremely variable duration.
Maewol Feldspar Mine produces feldspar ore from pegmatites. K-Rb Age of muscovite is 137.7Ma. Fluid inclusions in quartz crystal of the pegmatite show bimodal distribution of homogenization temperatures. The high homogenization temperatures range from 290 to $302^{\circ}C$ while low homogenization temperatures range from 157 to $195^{\circ}C$. Three phases liquid $CO_2$ bearing inclusions indicate $CO_2$ gases were abundantly mixed with granitic melt until the pegmatic magma melt cooled to $290^{\circ}C$. Low density of the magmatic melt relative to the same volume of granitic magma is due to mixture of volatiles(mainly $CO_2$ gases) with the melt and larger space and slow cooling allowed to grow crystals of the pegmatic magma.
Abell 2537 has been regarded as one of relaxed galaxy clusters because the X-ray emission is regular and symmetric, while there is also evidence to the contrary that the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) is offset from the velocity center. To investigate the dynamical state of A2537 we obtain the redshift information of cluster galaxy candidates using Hectospec mounted on the MMT 6.5 m and compile those in the literature. The velocity distribution of member galaxies appears bimodal, with the main peak including the BCG and a secondary peak at velocity difference ~2000 km s-1. Based on the three-dimensional analysis and statistical tests we conclude that A2537 has at least two substructures and is not fully relaxed from a merger near the line-of-sight. We discuss more about the dynamical state of A2537 based on the color-magnitude diagram and X-ray scaling relation.
Stability and formation of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PMN) phase synthesized in Li2SO4-Na2SO4 molten salts have been investigated. And powder characteristics of PMN have been studied with a variation of processing parameters such as temperature, time, amount of the salts, and excess PbO. More ratio of Li2SO4 to Na2SO4 influences the percentage of perovskite phase due to the difference of the eutectic point of the salts, but does not influence the powder characteristics. The shape of PMN particles shows faceted morphology with bimodal distribution consisting with large and submicron parts. Particle size of PMN increased greatly with increasing soaking time or amount of salts rather than temperature. The addition of excess PbO resulted in round PMN crystallites without submicron particles. These results are discussed by XRD, SEM and thermal analyses.
