바이모달 트램의 횡풍에 대한 동적특성 해석 (Dynamic Charncteristics for Laternl Strong Wind on Bimodal Tram)

  • A bi-modal tram can travel in not only dedicated way but also road so as to reduce construction costs and increase vehicle operation efficiency, whose passenger capacity is 2,500 to 7,000 persons/direction/hour. A bi-modal has an electronic guidance system that knows the location and route of the vehicle, and uses magnetic markers in the road surface for reference. Since a bi-modal tram will be operated in the downtown area, there is some possibility that strong wind occurred between high-rise buildings can produce sudden lateral movement (displacement) of the vehicle to influence its automatic operation controlled by electronic guidance system. For bi-modal tram in the automatic operation mode, lateral movements occurred by strong wind were calculated and analyzed in the dynamic model developed by using the ADAMS. Some useful relations among vehicle speeds, wind speeds, and lateral behaviors were discussed in this paper.

  • A bi-modal tram has been developed to offer an advanced transportation service compared with existing vehicles. The All-Wheel-Steering system is applied to the bi-modal tram to satisfy the required steering performance because the bi-modal tram has extended length and articulated mechanism. An ECU for the steering system is essential to steer wheels on 2nd and 3rd axles by the specific AWS algorithm with the prescribed driving condition. The Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) system is planned for the purpose of evaluating the steering system of the bi-modal tram. There are kinematic links with the hydraulic actuator to steer wheels on each 2nd and 3rd axles and also same steering mechanism as the actual vehicle is in the HILS system. Controlling the movement of hydraulic actuator which reflects the lateral steering reaction force on each wheel is the key to realize the HILS system, but the reaction force is continuously changed according to various driving conditions. Therefore, the simulation through the multi-body dynamics model is used to obtain the required forces.

  • In this paper, AWS ECU test method, which is considering behavior of a Bi-modal tram, is described. In order to evaluate the performance of an electronic automotive ECU, the method which combines HILS (Hardware In the Loop Simulation) and RBT (Requirement Based Testing) is introduced. HILS is the method to predict the behavior of a vehicle adopting an ECU. The behavior of a Bi-modal tram can be analyzed by using the vehicle dynamic model. Requirement Based Testing compare the outputs of a real system with a virtual electronic unit (oracle) which created by the requirements. Rear axles of the Bi-modal tram are independently controlled by two AWS ECU. Especially, swing out can happen when an articulated vehicle is operated in the curved road. Therefore dynamic behaviour of a Bi-modal tram is considered at this situation. Through this study, the reliability of ECU can be verified economically and safely using the proposed test method before conducting the track test.

  • 삶의 질이 높아지고 고령화 사회가 시작되면서, 사회적 약자들이 사용하기 쉬운 교통수단의 개발의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 부응하기 위해, 한국철도기술연구원에서 주관하여 저상굴절버스(Bi-modal Tram)의 개발을 시작하게 되었다. 이 저상굴절버스는 버스와 같은 높은 접근성의 특징을 가져야 할 뿐만 아니라, 지하철과 같이 차체가 낮아야 하며, 휠체어나 승객의 발이 승강장과 차량 사이 틈에 끼지 않도록 정확한 주차가 이루어져야 한다. 하지만 저상굴절차량의 길이가 길어, 이러한 요건을 맞추기 위해서는 전 차륜 조향 시스템이 개발-장착되어야 한다. 전 차륜 조향 시스템이 장착된 저상굴절차량은 1축 차륜이 조향될 뿐 아니라, 1축 조향각 또는 굴절각과 속도 등의 상태에 따라 2축과 3축 차륜이 조향되는 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전 차륜 조향장치의 개발 과정을 다룬다.

겨울철 융설을 대비한 바이모달 트램 재해관리 시스템의 SWMM 모형 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of SWMM Model Adjustment for Rubber-tired Tram Disaster Management System against the Snow-melt during the Winter)

  • Increasing urban sprawl and climate changes have been causing unexpected high-intensity rainfall events. Thus there are needs to enhance conventional disaster management system for comprehensive actions to secure safety. Therefore long-term and comprehensive flood management plans need to be well established. Recently torrential snowfall are occurring frequently, causing have snow traffic jams on the road. To secure safety and on-time operation of the Bi-modal tram system, well-structured disaster management system capable of analyzing the urban flash flooding and snow pack melt/freezing due to unexpected rainfall event and snowfall are needed. To secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system due to torrential snowfall, the snow melt simulation capability was investigated. The snow accumulation and snow melt were measured to validate the SWMM snow melt component. It showed that there was a good agreement between measured snow melt data and the simulated ones. Therefore, the Bi-modal tram disaster management system will be able to predict snow melt reasonably well to secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system during the winter. The Bi-modal tram disaster management system can be used to identify top priority area for snow removal within the tram route in case of torrential snowfall to secure on-time operation of the tram. Also it can be used for detour route in the tram networks based on the disaster management system predicted data.

  • The status and effectiveness of Bi-modal Tram is analyzed through the comparison of the transport effectiveness and operation cost between the public transportation systems (bus, light rail transit) considering the vehicle and operation characteristic of new transit system Bi-modal Tram. The standard operation schedule is established in consideration of the vehicle specification and operation characteristic of main public transportation modes, and then the annual average operation cost is estimated depending on the volume, speed, analysis length for respective public transportation mode. Through analyzing the operation cost and distribution characteristic of public transportation modes depending on the transport volume and travel speed, the operational efficiency suitable for the city is derived. It is concluded that the operational efficiency of Bi-modal Tram is superior to that of the bus and light rail transit on the aspect of travel volume and operation speed.

  • 급속한 도시화와 기상 이변이 늘어나면서 예상치 못한 국지성 집중호우가 발생하고 있어 재해 안전의 폭넓은 범위에 대비한 전통적인 재해 관리 시스템의 보완이 필요한 실정이다. 그로인해 장기 재해에 대비하고 광범위한 침수 관리 계획이 구축되어야 한다. 최근 폭우가 빈번히 발생하면서 이로 인해 도로의 교통 지체 등 교통 장애를 일으키고 있다. 그러하여 향후 운행될 바이모달 트랩 시템의 운행 안전성과 정시성을 확보하기 위해 예상치 못한 폭우로 인한 융설 혹은 결빙을 대비한 재해관리 시스템이 구축되어야 할 것이다. 폭설로 인한 바이모달 트램 시스템의 안전성을 확보를 위해 융설 모의 가능성에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 SWMM 모형을 이용한 융설 모의의 검정을 위해 실제 적설량과 융설량을 모니터링 하였다. 그 견과 실측 데이터와 SWMM모형을 활용한 모의 데이터간의 관계가 유사하게 나타난 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그리하여 본 바이모달 트램 재해 관리 시스템은 겨울철 바이모달 트램 시스템의 안전성 보장을 위한 융설 예측 시스템에 활용 가능 할 것이다. 또한 바이모날 트램 재해 관리 시스템은 트램의 정시성 확보를 위해 폭설시 트램 운행 경로의 제설 잔업을 위한 우선 지역 선정에 활용될 수 있고 본 시스템을 기반으로 재해시 트램 운행망에서의 우회도로 결정 시스템으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • A bi-modal tram has been developing to consist of articulated-two cars propelled by CNG hybrid (series type) in Korea since 2003. All wheels are driven by electrical motors independently, which can eliminate differential gears to reduce turning radius and make low floor to provide the old and the handicapped with easy access. In the bi-modal tram, therefore, reduction gear unit is key technology to make low floor and drive wheels independently. This study was aimed at performance evaluations of the reduction gear unit for the bi-modal tram. Oil leakage, oil temperature, vibration, acoustic noise in idle operations were measured for the reduction gear unit of the bimodal tram.

바이모달 트램의 후진주차보조 알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Developing Reverse Parking Assistant Algorithm for Hi-modal Tram)

  • The bi-modal tram is under development as a new public transportation. The features of the tram are an extended wheel base and its length. This features result in difficulties for drivers on maneuvering the tram. Therefore, the all wheel steering system is applied to the articulated vehicle. The AWS system enables the vehicle to steer all the rear wheels independently and improves its driving characteristics. However, the bi-modal tram has a problem to move backward in the limited place because of its geometric feature and the AWS system. Hence, the reverse parking assistant algorithm for articulated vehicle is developed to solve the problems of the reverse parking. Using the vehicle model which includes the reverse parking assistant algorithm, the dynamic analysis is performed for several parking cases. By the result of the analysis, the stability and validity of the reverse parking assistant algorithm is verified.
