  • In this paper, Firstly, it is shown that the bending mode vibration source of vertical pump system is comparatively large because resonance. Secondly in order to the bending mode vibration of vertical pump some practical dynamic absorber have been developed and its effectiveness is investigated as installing it at the vertical pump system practically.

  • A plate-type ultrasonic linear motor using longitudinal and bending multi-vibration mode was designed and fabricated for card-forwarding device. The rotor consisted of piezoelectric ceramic plate and elastic materials. The performances of the motor were measured. As the experimental results, no-load speed of the motor was 0.6 m/s at 80 V in applied voltage. Starting torque was 1.4 mNm and maximum efficiency was 1.2 %.

  • A plate-type linear ultrasonic motor using logitudinal and bending multi-vibration mode was designed and fabricated for the application to card-forwarding device. The stator consisted of PZ-PT-PMS piezoelectric ceramic plate and stainless steel. The performances of the motor were measured. As the experimental results, no-load speed of the motor was 0.6m/s when applied voltage was $80\textrm{V}_{rms}$ in resonance frequency. Starting torque was 1.4 mNm and maximum efficiency was 1.2%.

A posteriori error estimation via mode-based finite element formulation using deep learning

  • In this paper, we propose a new concept for error estimation in finite element solutions, which we call mode-based error estimation. The proposed error estimation predicts a posteriori error calculated by the difference between the direct finite element (FE) approximation and the recovered FE approximation. The mode-based FE formulation for the recently developed self-updated finite element is employed to calculate the recovered solution. The formulation is constructed by searching for optimal bending directions for each element, and deep learning is adopted to help find the optimal bending directions. Through various numerical examples using four-node quadrilateral finite elements, we demonstrate the improved predictive capability of the proposed error estimator compared with other competitive methods.

ISB 판넬의 굽힘강성 및 파손특성에 관한 연구 (Investigation into Characteristics of Bending Stiffness and Failure for ISB Panel)

  • The objective of this research works is to investigate into characteristics of bending stiffness and failure for the ISB ultra-lightweight panel with internally structured material. The expanded metal with a crimped pyramid shape and woven metal are employed as an internally structured material. Through three-points bending test, the force-displacement curve and failure shape are obtained to examine the deformation pattern, characteristic data, such as maximum load, displacement at maximum load, etc, and failure pattern of the ISB panel. In addition, the influence of design parameters fur ISB panel on the specific stiffness, the specific stiffness per unit width, failure mode and failure map has been found. Finally, it has been shown that ISB containing expand metal with the crimped pyramidal shape is prefer to that containing woven metal from the view point of optimal design for ISB panel.

  • Polarization mode dispersion (PMD) restrict the bend-width of single mode optical filer, and it is important parameter in the optical fiber having long-length. Although fiber has perfect circular symmetry, fiber bending, twisting and laws governing manufacture cause additional Polarization mode dispersion. The effect of polarization mode dispersion in general single mode fiber of long length is discussed in this paper. Measurement of PMD with random mode coupling were conducted in two kind of fibers using different laws governing manufacture and interferometric method.

  • In this paper, a modeling method for the bending vibration analysis of rotating Timoshenko beams with concentrated mass and mass moment of inertia is presented. The shear and rotary inertia effects become critical for the accurate estimation of the natural frequencies and mode shapes as the slenderness ratio decreases. The natural frequencies obtained by using the Timoshenko beam theory are lower than those by using the Euler beam theory. The critical angular speed, which does not exist only with the concentrated mass, exists with the concentrated mass moment of inertia.

초기 비틀림각을 갖는 회전 외팔보의 굽힘 진동 (Bending Vibration of a Pretwisted Rotating Cantilever Beam)

  • Equations of chordwise and flapwise bending motions of pretwisted rotatin cantilever beams are derived. The two motions are coupled to each other due to the pretwist angle of the beam cross section. As the angular speed, hub radius ratio, and pretwist angle vary, the vibration characteristics of the beam change. It is found that engenvalue loci veering phenomena and associated mode shape variations occur between two vibration modes due to the pretwist angle. The effect of the pretwist angle on the critical angular speed is also investigated.
