Objectives : This study was designed to compare the effects of Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment with bee venom pharmacopuncture treatment in hospitalized patients with peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : This study was done on a total of 41 patients with peripheral facial paralysis who were admitted into the Korean Medicine Hospital from February 1st, 2013 to April 30th, 2014. Wedivided patients into two groups. The Jungsongouhyul group was treated by Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture once a day and the bee venom group was treated by bee venom pharmacopuncture once a day. To compare the therapeutical effects of the two treatments, we used Yanagihara's unweighted grading system, House-Brachmann grading system, lip-length & snout indices and facial disablity index twice - before initial treatment and after final treatment. Results : Both Yanagihara's score and House-Brachmann grading system score improved in each group. However, there were no significant differences in improvement between the bee venom group and the Jungsongouhyul group. Conclusions : Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment appears to be as effective as bee venom pharmacopuncture treatment to improve symptoms of peripheral facial paralysis.

Objective : This study was performed to examine the Herbal Acupuncture decrease the side effect of Bee Venom. Methods: We treated Bee Venom and various Herbal Acupuncture mixed Bee Venom using double blind test to 70th health youth, and checked pain, edema size, CBC, Serum biochemistry and Thermography. Results: 1. Herbal Acupuncture made by Morus bombycis Koidzumi showed good results to decrease the side effect of Bee Venom than any other Herbal Acupuncture. 2. We examined CBC, ESR and Serum biochemistry before and after treated. Special change was not showed. 3. We observed the pain and edema after treated Bee Venom and Morus bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture mixed Bee Venom. We knew that Morus bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture was decrease the pain and edema due to Bee Venom. 4. According to these clinical studies, Morns bombycis Koidzumi Herbal Acupuncture has a possibility to be a good partner of Bee Venom.

Objectives : This study was to investigate the effectiveness of Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture therapy at Yepung($TE_{17}$) on peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : We investigated 36cases of patients with Peripheral Facial Paralysis, and devided patients into two groups : We treated one group by complex oriental medical treatment with Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture therapy at local point with Yepung(VY), and did the other group by complex oriental medical treatment with Bee Venom pharmacopuncture therapy at local point without Yepung(VL). To evaluate the effectiveness of treatment applied for two groups, we used Gross Grading System of House-Brackmann(HB score), Yanagihara's Unweighed Grading System(Y score) at baseline and final. Results : 1. In VY and VL, compared with baseline, at final, HB score was significantly decreased and Y score was significantly increased. 2. At final, VY showed significant decrease on HB score and significant increase on Y score compared with VL. Conclusions : Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture therapy at Yepung can be available for relieving symptoms related with peripheral facial paralysis.

The purpose of this study is to research and report the effect of Bee Venom pharmacopuncture therapy at facet joint for the two patients who was diagnosed as herniated intervertebral disc (HIVD) of lumbar spine. Two patients were hospitalized and treated with Complex Korean Medical treatment such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and Essential bee venom (EBV) pharmacopuncture in Dongsuwon hospital of oriental medicine. We measured their pain and function of daily life by numerical rating scale (NRS), straight leg rasing test (SLRT), Roland-morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ). As the result, we found the improvement of gait disturbance, functional disorder, and pain. This study suggested that Bee Venom pharmacopuncture therapy at facet joint is considered to conservative treatment for HIVD of lumbar spine. But further clinical studies are needed to clarify the effect of Bee Venom pharmacopuncture therapy at facet joint for the two patients with HIVD of lumbar spine.

Objectives : The purpose of this report is to show the clinical efficiency of korean medical treatments with Bee Venom pharmacopuncture therapy on patient of Trigeminal Neuralgia. Methods : The patient was treated with Bee Venom pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping venesection treatment, and herbal medicine. Visual Analog Scale was used to evaluate the improvement of pain after all treatments. Results : Visual Analog Scale was improved from 10 to 2 after korean medical treatment including Bee Venom pharmacopuncture. Conclusions : Korean medical treatments with Bee Venom pharmacopuncture can be effective for improving symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Objectives : The aim was to study the effect of bee venom pharmacopuncture therapy with different concentration on rheumatoid arthritis rat model. Methods : We enforced a bee venom pharmacopuncture therapy with different concentration on rheumatoid arthritis rat model by the intradermal injection of chicken type II collagen emulsified. 14 days after the onset of the rheumatoid arthritis rat model, a fixed volume of bee venom was daily injected to ST-35 acupoint in the rat's knee joint for 2-3 weeks. The hind paw volume, arthritic index, arthritic flexion pain test, pain threshold, and serum analysis (CRP, $PGE_2$, ALT, AST) were analyzed, and the expression profiles of COX-2, c-fos, and substance-P at the dorsal horn region of the spinal cord and subchondral bone of the knee joint were also analyzed by using the immunohistochemistry. Results : After the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis rats with bee venom pharmacopuncture, the paw volume of edema of arthritic rats were almost restored to the level of normal group, and behavior tests were very effective. Also the evaluation on the blood serum analysis was remarkable. COX-2, c-fos, and substance-P positive cells in the immunohistological section of dorsal horn region of the spinal cord and subchondral bone of the knee joints were significantly decreased. also the bee venom pharmacopuncture was effective to alleviate their rheumatoid arthritic inflammation cytokine inhibition as regards to the behavior tests and joint histological appearance. Conclusions : Based on the results in this study, bee venom pharmacopuncture with concentrated treatment condition was very effective in low fixed quantity and progressive low increased quantity.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to know the effects of the bee venom pharmacopuncture on muscle activity and pain reception of trapezius and deltoid the upper limbs muscles. Methods : We allocated healthy volunteers into two groups. After having exercise with barbell for load to trapezius and deltoid, we measured sEMG(surface electromyography) and VAS(visual analogue scale). In a moment, inject bee venom pharmacopuncture and saline each group. After 30 minutes, we measured sEMG and VAS again. We compared before and after sEMG and VAS data. Results : On sEMG data, bee venom pharmacopuncture had effects on muscle fatigue on left trapezius, muscle fatigue and fatigue and recovery on right trapezius and both deltoid. On VAS data, values of bee venom pharmacopuncture decreased more than that of saline. Conclusions : These results show that bee venom pharmacopuncture have effects on muscle activity aid pain reception of trapezius and deltoid the upper limbs muscle. But further studies should be carried out to verify the exact effects of bee venom.

Purpose : This research was conducted to investigate the effect of sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture and low level laser acupuncture on paw edema, pain index, anti-inflammatory factor, AST, ALT and complete blood cell count of a rat model with Complete Freund's Adjuvant-induced arthritis. Methods : Five experimental groups were formed with each consisting of six rats: normal group, control group, sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture group, lower level laser acupuncture group, and sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture, lower level laser acupuncture group. The experimental model of arthritis was induced by two injections of Freund's adjuvant into the left knee joint of Sprague Dawley(SD) rats. The second injection of Freund's adjuvant was given ten days after the first one. Ten days later, sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture and low level laser acupuncture were administered separately or together by assigned groups at $GB_{34}$ and $GB_{39}$ of rats twice a week for a total of six times. Thereafter, edema rate, pain index, tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$, interleukin-6, aspartate aminortansferase, alanine aminotransferase and complete blood cell count were measured. Results : We noticed synergic effects of sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture and low level laser acupuncture according to the results of the paw edema and Von Frey pain index. The sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture(BVA) and sweet bee venom pharmacopuncture+ low level laser acupuncture(BVA+LLA) groups experienced a more significant effect when compared with the control group. Conclusions : These results suggest that Sweet Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture and low level laser acupuncture at GB34 and GB39 have a significant anti-inflammatory effect on Freund's adjuvant arthritis in rats.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of Shinbaro pharmacopuncture treatment and bee venom pharmacopuncture treatment on cervical disc herniation and whiplash injury induced by traffic accident. Methods : This study was carried out on the 59 patients with whiplash injury by traffic accident and diagnosed as cervical disc herniation. The patients were divided into 2 groups ; Shinbaro pharmacopuncture group was treated with Shinbaro pharmacopuncture along with herbal medicine and general acupuncture. Bee venom pharmacopuncture group was treated with bee venom pharmacopuncture along with herbal medicine and general acupuncture. We measured verbal numerical rating scale(VNRS) and neck disability index(NDI) before the treatment and 1, 2, 3 weeks afterwards. Results : Shinbaro pharmacopuncture group and Bee venom pharmacopuncture both showed significant decrease in VNRS and NDI. Shinbaro pharmacopuncture group showed significant decrease over Bee venom pharmacopuncture group in VNRS decrement in the first week, while Bee venom pharmacopuncture group showed significant decrease over Shinbaro pharmacopuncture group in the secone week of treatment. Conclusion : According to the result of this study, it is suggested that Shinbaro pharmacopuncture group is more effective in reducing pain in the earlier period of treatment. Also suggests that further study on the effect of Shinbaro pharmacopuncture on patients diagnosed as cervical disc herniation after traffic accident for longer period of treatment.

Objectives : To verify pain relief effects and allergy inhibitory action for the osteoarthritis of the knee joint in Sweet Bee Venom in which allergy causing enzyme is removed. Methods : We randomly allocated 36 participants to treatment group Sweet Bee Venom and Bee Venom. Outcomes on pain reduction were measured by 100mm VAS(Visual Analog Scale). And we recorded into details allergic responses during Pharmacopuncture treatment. Results : Whole body condition and pain rate through VAS measurement were improved significantly in 2 weeks. We could get difference in pain score of two Pharmacopuncture groups significantly in 2 weeks. BV group showed superior reduction in pain compared to the Sweet BV group. But we could not get difference in whole score of two pharmacopuncture groups significantly. On the other hand other allergic responses such as edema, itchiness, pain were significantly lower in the Sweet BV group.
