베어링 내륜의 내면 연삭가공에서 진원도 개선 방안 (A scheme on roundness lmprovement in internal grinding of bearing inner race)

  • Precision of bearing race is very important to maintain the clearance between ball and inner race. In internal grinding of bearing race, its roundness is dependent on shoe wear, accuracy of jig, dressing method and grinding conditions. In this study, the characteristics of shoe wear and eccentricity of workpiece were investigated experimentally. When wear of fornt shoe wear reaches at 100.mu. m and that of rear shoe reaches at 114 .mu. m, eccentricity of inner race is increased to 1.4 .mu. m. Roundness of race is mainly related to wear of rear shoe and ring type shoe is recommended to improve roundness of race.

  • Ball bearings are one of main components that support the rotational shaft in high speed rotary machinery. So, it is very important to detect the incipient faults and fault growth of bearing since the damage and failure of bearing can cause a critical failures or accidents of machinery system. In the past, many researchers mainly performed to detect the bearing fault using traditional method such as wavelet, statistics, envelope etc in vibration signals. But study on the detection technique for bearing fault growth has a little been performed. In this paper, we verified the possibility for monitoring of fault growth and detection of fault size in bearing outer-race by using the envelope powerspectrum and probabilistic density function from measured vibration signals.

  • This paper is about the development of surface inspection of bearing inner and outer race using machine vision. Before this system is developed, most inspections are performed by workers' naked eye. To improve both the inconvenience and incorrectness, another new tester is introduced. This system has the three sections mainly. First one is the mechanism section which transfers bearing manufactured from previous process line to the testing process in plant. Another is the inspection system which is composed of two parts: computer vision and measurement system using laser diode which inspects the defects of the bearing inner or outer race. The other is the pneumatic cylinder part controlled by Programmable Logic Controller(PLC). The system which is developed shows favorable results, and that has the advantage of convenience and correctness compared to previous system.

  • In this paper, an analytical model is developed to describe the dynamic characteristics of a roller bearing. In order to obtain accurate dynamic response of roller bearing, each roller is modeled as a rigid body, which has radial and axial movement and rotational constraints. Beam element between outer race segments is used to consider flexibility of outer race. Beam deflection is calculated from beam forces and used for contact between roller and outer race. The efficient contact search kinematics and algorithms in the context of the compliance contact model are implemented to detect the interactions between roller and race for the sake of speedy and robust solutions. The numerical results are validated with another analysis results which are calculated using waviness condition. Increasing rollers, dynamic responses are compared with each other. In order to confirm dynamic behavior and nonlinear characteristic of roller bearing, Poincare map is used.

슬루잉 링 베어링의 접촉응력분포에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Contact Stress in Slewing Ring Bearings)

  • This paper presents the contact stress distributions between the multi-contact bodies and the total reaction forces for various types of contact geometry for multi-load slewing ring bearings. The FEM results indicate that the slope of the roller type of slewing ring bearing has slightly steeper than that of the ball type. This is because the roller type wire race bearings is stiffer than the ball type bearing. The total reaction force of ball type slewing bearing shows much higher than that of wire race slewing bearings.

  • In this paper, defect formation in ring rolling is revealed by computer simulation of ring rolling processes. The rigid-plastic finite element method is employed for this study. An analysis model having relatively fine mesh system near the roll gap is used for reducing the computational time and a scheme of minimizing the volume change is applied. The formation of the central cavity formation defect in ring rolling of a taper roller bearing outer race and the polygonal shape defect in ring rolling of a ball bearing outer race has been simulated. It has been seen that the results are qualitatively good with actual phenomena.

볼베어링 레이스면의 슈퍼피니싱에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Superfinishing of Ball Bearing Race)

  • This paper aims to clarify the effect of the sol-gel sintered alumina grain and the PbO content of binder on the performance of the vitrified alumina stone for superfinishing the ball bearing race with the vitrified alumina superfinishing stone. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. The stone that contain 8- 11% PbO in binder shows the highest grinding ratio, and increasing or decreasing the PbO contents causes lower grinding ratio. When superfinishing with the stone using the 45% fused alumina and 55% sol-gel sintered alumina grain, the grinding ratio becomes the best, the other ratio of grain contents shows lower performance. With increasing the bending strength of stone, the grinding ratio becomes larger. The roughness of the finished surface is the lowest in case of using the stone of the above mentioned conditions.

  • In this research, a hot and cold combined forging process for manufacturing net-shape one-way clutch bearing outer race of an automobile automatic transmission unit is developed. The process is composed of hot forging for manufacturing an optimized gear-like perform and precision cold forging for sizing the perform into final net-shape product. Finite element simulation techniques are applied to find the optimized process designs including blank and die shapes. The predictions and experiments are compared, revealing that they are in good agreement with each other. The dimensional test showed that the important dimensional requirements on gear tooth-like shape of the forged product were fulfilled.

  • An upper-bound elemental technique (UBET) analysis is carried out to improve the material flow and to reduce the load of bearing-race forming process. The UBET analysis, which adapts the advantages of stream function and finite element method, is useful for predicting the profile of complex geometric bound- ary. From the UBET analysis, the forming load, the velocity distribution and the stream line of the deformed billet are determined by minimizing the total power consumption with respect to chosen parameters. The results of present UBET analysis are better than those of previous UBET analysis. Experiments have been carried out with model material plasticine billets at room temperature. The theoretical predictions for forming load and flow pattern(stream line) are in good agreement with the experimental results.
