Radiation exposure from medical diagnostic imaging procedures to patients is one of the most significant interests in diagnostic x-ray system. A miniature x-ray intraoral tube was developed for the first time in the world which can be inserted into the mouth for imaging. Dose evaluation should be carried out in order to utilize such an imaging device for clinical use. In this study, dose evaluation of the new x-ray unit was performed by 1) using a custom made in vivo Pig phantom, 2) determining exposure condition for the clinical use, and 3) measuring patient dose of the new system. On the basis of DRLs (Diagnostic Reference Level) recommended by KDFA (Korea Food & Drug Administration), the ESD (Entrance Skin Dose) and DAP (Dose Area Product) measurements for the new x-ray imaging device were designed and measured. The maximum voltage and current of the x-ray tubes used in this study were 55 kVp, and 300 mA. The active area of the detector was $72{\times}72mm$ with pixel size of $48{\mu}m$. To obtain the operating condition of the new system, pig jaw phantom images showing major tooth-associated tissues, such as clown, pulp cavity were acquired at 1 frame/sec. Changing the beam currents 20 to $80{\mu}A$, x-ray images of 50 frames were obtained for one beam current with optimum x-ray exposure setting. Pig jaw phantom images were acquired from two commercial x-ray imaging units and compared to the new x-ray device: CS 2100, Carestream Dental LLC and EXARO, HIOSSEN, Inc. Their exposure conditions were 60 kV, 7 mA, and 60 kV, 2 mA, respectively. Comparing the new x-ray device and conventional x-ray imaging units, images of the new x-ray device around teeth and their neighboring tissues turn out to be better in spite of its small x-ray field size. ESD of the new x-ray device was measured 1.369 mGy on the beam condition for the best image quality, 0.051 mAs, which is much less than DRLs recommended by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and KDFA, both. Its dose distribution in the x-ray field size was observed to be uniform with standard deviation of 5~10 %. DAP of the new x-ray device was $82.4mGy*cm^2$ less than DRL established by KDFA even though its x-ray field size was small. This study shows that the new x-ray imaging device offers better in image quality and lower radiation dose compared to the conventional intraoral units. In additions, methods and know-how for studies in x-ray features could be accumulated from this work.
The purpose of this study is an measurement of the skin dose of a patient by using the OSLD(optically stimulated luminescent dosimeter) under several irradiation conditions of the X-ray beam for diagnostic radiography. The measurements of skin dose were performed for head, chest, and pelvis. And test of reproducibility was carried out at the chest. As a result, we obtained the skin dose at forehead of head to be 1.30 mSv. The skin doses at xiphoid process, breast and apex of the lung of the chest were acquired 0.92, 0.52 and 0.70 mSv, respectively. And we obtained the skin doses at the left pelvis and the right pelvis to be 2.78 and 3.08 mSv, respectively. As for reproducibility, a coefficient of variation was 0.033. The skin doses were exhibited the values corresponding from 1/100 to 1/17 of the dose limit of the public(50 mSv) at the deterministic effect. In order to make accurate measurements of the skin doses for each tube voltage, the measured values have to multiply by the displayed values of reader by a correction factor. The energy response of the OSLD with the tube voltage will be studied in the near future.
In dental radiography, panoramic views cause distortion and thus may bring about inaccurate results in the process of quantitative analysis. In this connection, there has recently been an increasing use of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) that is known to provide high-resolution images and positional information. In this study, a dental computed tomography unit, 'DCT-90-P IMPLAGRAPHY (Vatech, Korea)', was applied to 20 patients for 24 seconds respectively, with a tube voltage of 85kVp and a tube current of 7mA. The data of CBCT were three-dimensionally reconstructed by use of a computer program, and were histomorphometrically analyzed. The results showed that the diameter of mandibular canal is less distorted at a certain inclination of the mandibular body. The image tends to seem more distended in proportion to the distance between the subject and film. Also, the image tends to be affected according as it is out of focus. In conclusion, it requires that the image should be reconstructed in light of anatomic position and structure.

Central axis percentage depth-doses, P(%), were measured at the points from the 2.5cm depth of reference point to 20 cm depth with 2.5 cm interval. Distance from the X-ray target to the water phantom($30{\times}30{\times}30cm^3$) surface was 1 m, and at this point three different beam sizes of $5cm{\phi},\;10cm{\phi},\;and\;15cm{\phi}$ were used. While the X-ray tube voltage varied from 150 to 250 kV, the tube current remained constant at 5 mA. Absorbed dose rate in water, $\dot{D}_w$, was determined using the air kerma calibration factor, $N_k$, which was derived from the exposure calibration factor, $N_x$, of the NE 2571 ion chamber. The reference exposure rate, $\dot{X}_c$, was measured using the Exradin A-2 ion chamber calibrated at ETL, Japan. The half value layers of the X-rays determined to meet ETL calibration qualities. The absorbed dose rates determined at the calibration point were compared to the values obtained from Burlin's general cavity theory, and the percentage depth-dose values determined from $N_k$ showed a good agreement with the values of the published depth dose data(BJR Suppl. 17).

A confocal microscope was developed utilizing a scanning sample stage based on a home-built double-compound flexure guide. A scanning sample stage with nano-scale resolution consisted of a double leaf spring based flexure, a displacement amplifying lever, a Piezo-electric Transducer(PZT) actuator and capacitance sensors. The performance of the two-axis stage was analyzed using a commercial finite element method program prior to the implementation. A single line laser was employed as the light source along with the Photo Multiplier Tube(PMT) that served as the detector. The performance of the developed confocal microscope was evaluated with a mouse ear skin imaging test. The designed scanning stage enabled us to build the confocal microscope without the two optical scanning mirror modules that are essential in the conventional laser scanning confocal microscope. The elimination of the scanning mirror modules makes the optical design of the confocal microscope simpler and more compact than the conventional system.
Laser output becomes output adjustment from 20 w to 100 w consecutively and time of exposure is available adjustment through water plant in 0.01 seconds. Pulse action can intercept laser beam periodically and supermarket pulse 0.1 $\sim$ between 1ms discharge consist and momentary laser output is increased to 5 $\sim$ 10. Specially, that must remove malignancy cell in womb nine escarps in the case of uterine cancer first of all stability of tube output about pulse by weight very, stable soft switching action area is defined without high frequency transformer leakage inductance ($L_1$) increase and additional series inductor insertion to converter the first main circuit securing zero voltage and marks of switching action in this research specially, because circulation current path of inductor ($L_f$) current is intercepted, converter the first main circuit switching component and spiritual enlightenment damage of high frequency transformer take decreasing greatly and high frequency the second stoppage department ($D_5,\;D_6$) becomes soft switching, and also, switching damage absorption quantity characteristic that can come to life again as subordinate have, and to become tube stabilization design and result that manufacture and experiment, brought result that improve of 10% than existing equipment, and if supplement as systematic late, it becomes thought to get into superior result.
This study was conducted to find proper structural reinforcement methods for the 4.5m-high (eaves height) 1-2W type plastic greenhouse. 3D finite element analysis was used to analyze the steel-tube structure. The 4.5m-high 1-2W type plastic greenhouse was modified by welding 1.5m-long steel-pipes into a 3.0m-tall columns of the standard 1-2W type plastic greenhouse. This remodeling method is widely used in Korea with farmer's discretion to increase the production when they grow paprika. But it is not based on the quantitative structural analysis. The proposed reinforcement methods were proved to stand against the design wind velocity of $40m{\cdot}s^{-1}$ and snow depth of 40cm. It strongly implies that the cross beam between side columns and wind resistance walls, and the lattice type cross beam should be good reinforcements to improve the structural safety of the elevated eaves height plastic greenhouse.

The purpose of this study was to develop the indirect dosimetry by calculation (IDC) method for diagnostic X-ray equipment. The experiments were performed with inverter type X-ray tubes: Toshiba (E7252X, Japan) and Varian (RAD-14, USA). For the development method, we first applied the standard quality of X-ray beam shown in the TRS457 document, and second, to produce the constants of trendline for the IDC, the total filtration on X-ray beam was subdivided. Third, in order to increase the precision, the energy region was divided into the high energy region and the low energy region and developed by the IDC. In order to verify the IDC, mean dose (mR) values were measured for three Toshiba X-ray tubes and three Varian X-ray tubes at clinical medical institutions and then compared with the IDC on the 2013. As a result, compared with the previous study, the accuracy of the IDC of this study were improved by 2.71% and 9.91% in Toshiba and Varian X-ray tubes, respectively.
Electron microscope radioautography introduced by Liquier-Milward (1956) is now used routinely in many laboratories. Most of the technical difficulties in specimen preparation have been overcome. This method is modified from loop method for improvement of EM radioautographic techniques. The advantages of this method are: 1. the use of single specimens on small corks and of a large wire loop, allows the experimenter to avoid the blemishes in the membrane; 2. the surfactant dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate is added to diluted ILford L4, thus greatly prolonging the period of time over which good emulsion layers can be made; 3. corks can be handled in perspex holder which allows about 20 specimens to be developed simultaneously. The steps of the method comprise: 1. Cut ribbons of ultrathin sections of silver interference colour 2. Pick them up on formvar-coated 200 mesh grids 3. Prestaining of tissues 4. Coat the specimens with a thin layer of carbon by evaporation (30-60A) 5. Mount the specimens on corks (about 1cm apical diameter) using double-sided scotch tape 6. Emulsion coating; a. Take a 250m1 beaker, place it on the pan of a sliding weight balance and weigh it. Add 10 grams extra to the beam. Add pieces of ILford L4 emulsion to the beaker until the balance is swinging freely. Add the 20ml of distilled water that was previously measured out. b. Surfactant dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate is added to diluted ILford L4. 7. Prepare a series of membranes of gelled emulsion with the wire loop and apply one to each cork-borne specimen. 8. Put the specimens away to expose by pushing the corks into short length of PVC tubing, each tube having a small hole in the side 9. Place the tubes in small boxes together with silica gel. 10. Exposure 11. Developer - Kodak Microdol X for 3 minutes 12. Fixer - A perspex holder can be manufactured which allows 20 specimens to be developed simultaneously. 12. Fixer - 30% sodium thiosulfate for 10 minutes 13. Examination with Siemens Elmiskop 1A electron microscope
This paper presents the results from a systematic finite element study on the bending moment resisting capacity of double web-angle connection for a CFT(concrete filled tube) composite frame subjected to cyclic loading. The three-dimensional nonlinear finite element models are constructed to investigate the rotational stiffness, bending moment capacity, and failure modes of the partially restrained composite CFT connections. A wide scope of additional structural behaviors explain the different influences of the double web-angle connections parameters, such as the different thickness of connection angles and the gage distances of high strength steel connection bar. The moment-rotation angle relationships obtained statically from the finite element analysis are compared with those from Richard's theoretical equation.
