비행체의 자세와 GPS 재머의 상대적인 배치상태를 고려한 4소자 및 7소자 항재밍장치에 대한 성능분석 (4 and 7 Element GPS Anti-jamming Algorithm Performance Analysis Considering the Relative Arrangement of the Multiple Jammers)

  • 일반적으로 알려진 GPS 항재밍 기술로는 재밍 방향에 대한 감쇄효과를 얻는 널 스티어링 (null steering)과 위성방향으로의 추가 합성이득을 얻는 빔 스티어링 (beam steering) 방식이 있다. 이 신호처리 알고리즘을 소개하는 문헌에 의하면, 수학 공리에 따라 동시처리 가능한 재밍의 개수는 배열안테나 소자의 개수 N 에서 기준 안테나 1개를 제외한 N-1 개에 대해서만 유효하다는 표현을 하지만, 재머 배치나 비행체의 자세 그리고 둘 간의 상대적 배치 등 실질적인 운용 조건을 고려한 알고리즘 특성에 대한 분석은 알려져 있지 않다. 이에 본 논문에서는 4소자 및 7소자 표준 배열안테나가 적용된 항재밍 시스템을 모델링하여 비행체의 자세(수평, 수직)와 재머 배치, 그리고 안테나 소자 수를 고려한 두 항재밍 알고리즘(PM, LCMV)에 대한 성능 분석을 하였다. 결과적으로, 동일한 JSR 환경임에도 불구하고, 위성 신호와 재밍 신호 간 입사각이 상대적으로 큰 비행체의 수직 자세의 경우 수평 자세보다 약 10 dB 이상의 이득이 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시 하였다.

  • Human Body 안테나를 신체에 탈 부착하여, Superhigh Frequency RF Beam을 통해 지상(하)에 매설된 기폭제를 전방위($360^{\circ}$)로 탐지할 수 있는 Human Body 안테나 장치에 관한 연구로, 전투복을 착용한 상태에서 신체에 탈 부착식으로 장착하여 지뢰의 금속 및 비금속이 아닌 기폭제를 전방위($360^{\circ}$)로 탐지할 수 있고, 기폭제 탐지 데이터를 원격지 전투지휘 서버로 전송시켜 데이터를 공유할 수 있으며, 플렉시블 루프 방사형 안테나 구조로 Superhigh Frequency RF Beam을 전방 지면, 측방 지면으로 복수개로 방사시키고, 기폭제 전처리부를 통해 전처리시키며, 비선형회귀모델 알고리즘 엔진부를 통해 Superhigh Frequency RF Beam에 수신되는 신호세기의 지연시간에 따라 비선형적으로 감쇄하는 특성을 반영하여, 지연시간에 따른 Superhigh Frequency RF Beam 응답신호의 세기를 기반으로 지뢰 및 폭약일 가능성이 높은 신호를 검출할 수 있어, 지뢰의 금속과 비금속이 아닌 기폭제를 식별하면서 지뢰, 불발탄, 급조폭발물을 탐지할 수 있으며, 기존보다 탐지율을 90% 향상시킬 수 있다.

원자력발전소 주조 배관 용접부 위상배열 초음파검사 기술 개발 (Development of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technique for Nuclear Power Plant Cast Piping Weld)

  • Cast austenitic stainless steel(CASS) is used in the primary cooling piping system of nuclear power plant for it's relative low cost, corrosion resistance and easy of welding. However, the coarse-grain structure of cast austenitic stainless steel can strongly affect the inspectability of ultrasonic testing. The major problems encountered during inspection are beam skewing, high attenuation and high background noise of CASS component. So far, the best inspection performance involving CASS components have been achieved using low frequency TRL(Transmitter/Receiver side-by-side L wave) angle beam probe. But TRL technique could not detect shallow defect and it contains an uncertainty for sizing capability. Currently, most of researchers are studying to overcome these challenge issue. In this study, low-frequency phased array TRL technique used to detect and sizing the flaws in CF8A cast austenitic stainless steel.As conclusion, we could detect and size not only axial flaw but also circumferential flaw using low frequency phased array technique.

레이저 가열 측정법을 이용한 화염 내 매연 농도 측정 (Measurement of soot concentration in flames using laser-induced incandescence method)

  • Laser induced incandescence, LII, recently developed technique for measuring soot concentration in flames, can overcome most of limitations of conventional laser extinction measurement. In this study, experiments were performed to investigate the effect of laser intensity, detection wavelength, and also laser beam quality on both LII signal at a particular position and peak-to-centerline LII signal ratio. The results of LII signal with increasing laser intensity shows its near-independence of laser intensity once threshold level of laser intensity has been reached. However, this near-independence depends on laser beam quality and the incident optical setup. The peak-to-centerline LII signal ratio slowly but continuously increases with laser power. This fact is due to the dependence of LII signal on particle mean diameter. LII signal is attenuated during it passes through the flame containing soot particles. The attenuation rate is inversely proportional to detection wavelength. In this study, LII signal at 680 nm band is 10% greater than the signal at 400 nm band.

6 MV 광자선의 투과성필터와 Wedge 선속을 이용한 부비강의 균등선량계획 (Homogeneous Dose Planning to Paranasal Sinus with the Partial Attenuation filters and Wedged Beams in 6 MV Photon Beam)

  • The homogeneous dose planning is one of the most important roles in radiation therapy. But, it is not easy to obtain a homogeneous dose to paranasal sinus region including the ethmoidal sinus with conventional irradiation techniques. In this experimental study, the authors tried to get a homogeneous dose at PNS region, but the nasal cartirage does not exceed the tolerance dose, with anterior-posterior beam and two both lateral wedged beams. Used three fields were shielded with full thickness of blocks to preserve the eye-balls and with blocks of one half value layer to create a homogeneous dose at the whole treatment volume. The dose computations are based on the three dimensonal structure with modified scatter contributions of partial shielders and attenuated beams in 6 MV photon beams. The dose distributions of mid-plane is examined with Kodak verification films and teflon-embedded TLD rod (1 mm diameter and 6 mm length) to confirm the computed dose. In our study, the whole PNS regions have shown within $85{\%}$ of the resultant isodose curves with relatively homogeneous dose distribution. The results of dose computation and measurements are agree well within $5{\%}$ uncertainties.

CMOS true-time delay IC for wideband phased-array antenna

  • This paper presents a true-time delay (TTD) using a commercial $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS process for wideband phased-array antennas without the beam squint. The proposed TTD consists of four wideband distributed gain amplifiers (WDGAs), a 7-bit TTD circuit, and a 6-bit digital step attenuator (DSA) circuit. The T-type attenuator with a low-pass filter and the WDGAs are implemented for a low insertion loss error between the reference and time-delay states, and has a flat gain performance. The overall gain and return losses are >7 dB and >10 dB, respectively, at 2 GHz-18 GHz. The maximum time delay of 198 ps with a 1.56-ps step and the maximum attenuation of 31.5 dB with a 0.5-dB step are achieved at 2 GHz-18 GHz. The RMS time-delay and amplitude errors are <3 ps and <1 dB, respectively, at 2 GHz-18 GHz. An output P1 dB of <-0.5 dBm is achieved at 2 GHz-18 GHz. The chip size is $3.3{\times}1.6mm^2$, including pads, and the DC power consumption is 370 mW for a 3.3-V supply voltage.

Estimation of Allowable Path-deviation Time in Free-space Optical Communication Links Using Various Aircraft Trajectories

  • The allowable path-deviation time of aircraft in a free-space optical communication system has been estimated from various trajectories, using different values of aircraft speeds and turn rates. We assumed the existence of a link between the aircraft and a ground base station. First, the transmitter beam's divergence angle was calculated through two different approaches, one based on a simple optical-link equation, and the other based on an attenuation coefficient. From the calculations, the discrepancy between the two approaches was negligible when the link distance was approximately 110 km, and was under 5% when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km. Subsequently, the allowable path-deviation time of the aircraft within the tracking-error tolerance of the system was estimated, using different aircraft speeds, turn rates, and link distances. The results indicated that the allowable path-deviation time was primarily determined by the aircraft's speed and turn rate. For example, the allowable path-deviation time was estimated to be ~3.5 s for an aircraft speed of 166.68 km/h, a turn rate of $90^{\circ}/min$, and a link distance of 100 km. Furthermore, for a constant aircraft speed and turn rate, the path-deviation time was observed to be almost unchanged when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km.

Synthesis of barium-doped PVC/Bi2WO6 composites for X-ray radiation shielding

  • In this study, composites containing undoped and barium-doped Bi2WO6:Ba2+were investigated for their shielding against diagnostic X-ray. At first, Bi2WO6 and barium-doped Bi2WO6 were synthesized with different weight percentages of barium oxide through a hydrothermal process. The as-synthesized nanostructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and Raman spectroscopy (RS). After that, some shields were generated with undoped and barium-doped Bi2WO6:Ba2+ nanostructure particles incorporated into polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polymer with different thicknesses and 15% weight of the nanostructure. Finally, the prepared samples were exposed to an X-ray tube at 40, 80, and 120 kV voltages, 10 mAs and, 44.5 cm SID (i.e. the distance from the X-ray beam source to the specimen). Linear and mass attenuation coefficients were also calculated for different samples. The results indicated that, among the samples, the one with 7.5 mmol barium-doped Bi2WO6 had the most attenuation at the voltage of 40kV, and the attenuation coefficients would increase with an increase in the amount of barium. The samples with 15 and 17.5 mmol barium-doped Bi2WO6 had higher attenuation than the others at 80 and 120 kV. Moreover, the half-value layer (HVL), tenth-value layer (TVL) and 0.25 mm lead equivalent thickness were calculated for all the samples. The lowest HVL value was for the sample with 7.5 mmol barium-doped Bi2WO6. As the result clearly show, an increment in the barium-doping content leads to a decrease in both HVL and TVL. In every three voltages, 0.25 mm lead equivalent thickness of the barium-doped composites (7.5 mmol and 15 mmol) had less than the other composites. The lowest value of 0.25 mm lead equivalent thickness was 7.5 barium-doped in 40 kV voltage and 15 mmol barium-doped in 80 kV and 120 kV voltages. These results were obtained only for 15% weight of the nanostructure.

Flattening Filter Free Beam의 정도관리를 위한 곡면선량계 가능성 연구 (A study of Curved Dosimeter for Flattening Filter Free Beam Quality Assurance Evaluation using Curved Dosimeter in Radiotherapy)

  • 최근 도입된 FFF 빔을 활용하는 방사선치료는 flattening filter에서 비롯되는 빔의 감쇠를 막을 수 있어 치료효율을 높일 수 있지만, 불균일한 단면적 선량분포에 대하여 정확한 정도관리가 구축되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 광도전체 물질 $HgI_2$ 기반의 곡면 선량계를 제작하였으며, 성능을 검증하기 위하여 6 MV 광자에너지에서 재현성 및 선형성을 평가하였다. 또한 곡면 계측의 유용성을 나타내기 위하여 아크릴 필터를 적용한 FFF beam에서 평면 기판과 곡면 기판 상에서 계측되는 신호를 비교하였다. 그 결과 Unit cell 선량계의 재현성은 SE 0.613%, 선형성은 R-sq 0.9999로 나타났으며, line array 곡면 선량계의 유용성 평가는 평면 기판에서 23.337%, 곡면 기판에서 12.264%로 11.073%p 감소된 신호 차이를 보였다.

모니터 전리함 시작품 개발과 기초 성능 평가 (Development of Monitor Chamber Prototype and Basic Performance Testing)

  • 모니터 전리함은 의료용 선형가속기에서 방출되는 방사선의 세기와 출력 제어를 위하여 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 가속기 기반 방사선 발생장치의 제어 시스템 개발에 사용하기 위하여 모니터 전리함 시작품을 개발하였다. 개발한 모니터 전리함은 평행 평판형 전리함 형태로서 독립적 작동이 가능한 두 개의 전리함으로 구성되어 있으며, 전극의 재료는 방사선의 감쇠를 최소화하기 위하여 얇은 연성인쇄회로기판이 사용되었다. 전리함의 시험을 위하여 코발트-60 방사선원을 이용하여 측정된 전하의 포화특성과 선형성과 같은 선량학적 특성을 평가하였다. 결과적으로 개발된 시작품이 기본 성능을 만족하며 추가 연구의 가능성을 확인하였다.
