For this, the study collected data through qualitative interviews with 8 librarians who are in charge of collection development programs in four-year university libraries. As a result, the professional competency components emerging from interviews were divided into three parts; knowledge in library and information science, knowledge in subject field, and professionalism. Detailed components of three parts of professional competency were divided into 13 sub-categories, with 37 meanings. It is expected that the study as an exploratory research may provide further research to design educational and training programs for collection development librarians with basic data.

  • This study examined the retirement adaptation process for middle-aged and elderly couples. Twelve couples who had experienced retirement were recruited by theoretical sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed through the grounded theory approach of Strauss and Corbin (1998). This study showed the results of 124 concepts, 41 sub-categories and 17 categories indicated through an open coding process. As a paradigm in axial coding, the causal conditions in the adjustment procedures of elderly couples whose spouses are retired were 'retirement preparation,' 'retirement acceptance,' and 'marital satisfaction.' A central phenomenon was 'crisis and conflicts of twilight couples.' The contextual conditions that correspond to this phenomenon were 'psychological separation from adult children,' 'division of household labor,' and 'economic status.' The action/interaction strategies to control the phenomenon were 'recognition of marital relationships,' 'conflicts coping,' 'resolution methods,' and 'self-reflection.' The intervening conditions that facilitate action/interaction strategies were 'attitudes of husbands,' 'mutual awareness of couple,' 'health status,' and 'support systems.' The consequences were 'readaptation of marital relationships,' and 'unresolved conflicts,' and 'trying alone.' This research classified middle-aged and elderly couples' adaptation into three types such as mutual effort, separation & resignation, and conflicts vestige. The findings provide basic information to develop a retirement adaptation program for the middle-aged and elderly.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest basic natural park planning guidelines which have to be considered before conservation plan. For this purpose, land potentiality was analyzed in the regional context. Natural parks in Tokyo Province were chosen as study areas because park systems in Japan and Korea are similar and lots of information are available in Japan. Land capabilities of study areas were analyzed, then the results were utilized to discuss how the natural parks. Land potentiality was analyzed by the degree of location quotient of land use allowance in homogeneous bio-physical land units, then comprehensive potentiality of bio-physical land units was revealed from existing and historical land use allowance. These 2 allowances, also, were utilized to find the limit of land use intensity, and the results were used for qualitative identification of the land potentiality and the land capability. As a results, the land use allowance and characteristics of 6 groups were identified as shown in Table 3 and Figure 6. Qualitative analysis of land potentiality in this study enabled to disscus the conservation and/or preservation of natural parks, based upon elements of land, and the guidelines of natural park conservation policy were suggested from the characteristics of land potentiality and regional relationship. This discussed land potentiality, and existing natural resources which were stressed from conservational view point need to be combined for comprhensive understanding of land resources.

Methods: From March 28 to August 20, 2022, the study conducted in-depth interviews with nursing assistants working with dental hygienists in dental clinics. The collected data were analyzed using the phenomenological method. Results: The study analyzed the meanings associated with the dental clinical assistance work experiences of nursing assistants in dental clinics. A total of 98 semantic words and 9 sub-categories were extracted, which were ultimately categorized into 4 central meanings: 'imperfect reality', 'work without boundaries', 'putting oneself in someone else's shoes', and 'symbiosis'. Conclusions: The nursing assistants were exposed to an environment where they needed to perform delegated treatment procedures even when they lacked dental work competency. They recognized their gaps in learning and the necessity for designated roles as clinical assistants. Thus, it is necessary to review the allocation and expansion of the work roles of dental practitioners based on the practical and rational realities in dental practice.

  • This study was conducted to understand the essential structure and meaning of the experience of participating in the Jigsaw class designed to achieve the learning goals for nursing students with different basic learning abilities, and to prepare a plan for each individual to learn as a collaborator rather than a competition with each other. As a study based on Giorgi's phenomenological research method and in-depth interviews, data collection was collected from 10 study participants from December 1, 2023 to December 20, 2023. The main question used in the interview was "What impressed you after participating in Jigsaw teaching meathod?" The transcribed data were analyzed through the stages of overall recognition, classification of semantic units, transformation of semantic units into psychological expressions, and integration into general structures according to Giorgi's qualitative analysis method. As a result, a total of 89 semantic units, 35 essential psychological meanings, 13 sub-components, and 6 components were derived. The six components include 'good communication', 'difference appear in material preparation', 'easy to understand', 'finding team members who form a learning atmosphere well', 'A talkative class', and 'Unprepared team members are uncomfortable'. Based on the above results, it is expected that students in a passive position in class will become teachers themselves, take responsibility for preparing for learning, and provide useful basic data for developing programs that cooperate among students.

  • The losses of accidents in the construction industry was significantly increased during the past decades. Therefore, the study of risk management measures in the domestic construction has become very important, and the inherent risk factors need to derive and analyze them based on the quantified method. However, most studies on the construction risk are conducted finding on the qualitative way. This study analysis the accident records from actual construction sites as a quantities study. A correlation analysis and regression analysis are adopted to identify the risk factors and develop a model. The results of this study are expected to be evolve through the accumulated effect and verification of data in the future through continuous feedback.
