  • The SSI(Soil-Structure Interaction) analyses are being performed for the KNGR(Korean Next Generation Reactor) design because the KNGR is developed as a standard nuclear power plant concept enveloping various soil conditions. the SASSI program which adopts the flexible volume method is used for the SSI analyses. The soil curves used in the three dimensional SSI analyses of KNGR Nuclear Island(NI) structures are based on the upper bound shear modulus curve and lower bound damping degradation on SSI response the average shear modulus curve with average damping curve was used for two soil cases. This study presents the results of the variances by using different soil nonlinearity parameters based on the paametric SSI analyses. The results include the maximum member forces(shear and axial force) at the base of the NI structures and the 5% damping Floor Response Spectra (FRS) at some representative locations at the top of the NI superstructures. They are also compared together with the enveloped SSI results for eight soil cases and fixed-base analysis for rock case by using two control motions.

평행이동곡면과 자유곡면 사이의 교차곡선 계산 (Intersection between a Surface of Extrusion and a Free-Form Surface)

  • 이 논문에서는 평행이동곡면 (surface of extrusion) 과 임의의 자유곡면 사이의 교차곡선의 구조를 분석하고 이를 계산하는 방법에 대해 설명한다. 평행이동곡면의 이동방향에 대하여 다른 곡면의 윤곽곡선 (silhouette curve) 을 구하고, 이를 평행이동곡면의 기준곡선과 교차시킴으로써 교차곡선의 구조를 분석한다. 또한, 교차곡선이 존재하는 범위와 특이점을 구함으로써 교차곡선 전체를 안정적이고 효율적으로 계산하는 알고리즘을 제시한다.

소프트콘택트렌즈 착용자의 피팅 상태 확인 유무에 따른 자각적 증상 (Subjective Symptoms according to Fitting Test in Soft Contact Lens Wearers)

  • 목적 : 소프트 콘택트렌즈 착용자를 대상으로 착용실태 및 구입현황, 피팅 상태 확인 유무에 따른 자각적 증상, 그리고 베이스커브에 대한 소비자 인식도를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 : 2018년 6월부터 8월까지 소프트 콘택트렌즈를 구매하기 위하여 서울소재의 안경원 및 렌즈샵에 방문한 사람들을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였으며, 총 98부를 분석에 이용하였다. 카이제곱 검정과 Fisher의 정확 검정을 이용하여 피팅 상태 확인(착용감과 관련된 문진, 푸시업 테스트 등) 유무에 따른 자각적 증상(건조함, 빛 번짐, 착용감 불편, 시력저하)을 비교하였으며, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 오즈비를 구하였다. 결과 : 소프트 콘택트렌즈를 구입 시 시력검사를 받고 구입한 경우는 안경원은 86.6%, 렌즈샵은 64.7%이었다. 콘택트렌즈를 구입할 때 피팅 상태의 확인을 받지 않은 경우에는 피팅 상태의 확인을 받은 경우에 비해 건조함(오즈비 4.41, 95% 신뢰구간 1.25-15.62)과 착용감 불편(오즈비 2.68, 95% 신뢰구간 1.08-6.64)을 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 콘택트렌즈 착용자의 87.8%가 베이스커브라는 용어를 알지 못하고 있었으며, 콘택트렌즈 구매 시 92.9%가 베이스커브와 관련된 설명을 듣지 못한 것으로 나타났고, 96.9%가 베이스커브 검사를 받은 경험이 없는 것으로 조사되었다. 결론 : 소프트 콘택트렌즈 처방 시 피팅 상태의 확인을 통한 적절한 베이스커브의 변경을 통해 기존 소비자들의 콘택트렌즈의 착용 시 만족도를 향상시켜야 할 것으로 생각된다.

Combination loon archwire와 활주역학을 이용한 상악전치의 후방 견인시 나타나는 초기 응력 분포에 관한 광탄성학적 연구 (A photoelastic study on the initial stress distribution of the upper anterior teeth retraction using combination loop archwire and sliding mechanics)

  • 전치의 후방 견인시 교정력은 치아의 저항중심에서 벗어난 브라켓을 통해 적용되기 때문에 바람직하지 못한 경사이동이 발생하게 되고 이를 방지하기 위한 여러 가지 방법 중 호선에 curve나 전치부 호선에 치근 설측 토그를 부여하는 방법이 많이 사용된다. 이에 본 연구는 combination loop archwire와 hook을 이용한 활주역 학을 이용하여 전치를 후방 견인 시, compensating curve를 0도, 15도, 30도 부여하고, 이 때 나타나는 효과를 광탄성법으로 비교 연구하기 위하여 치아와 치조골 모형을 광탄성 모형으로 대체시키고 와이어와 브라켓을 주어진 조건으로 위치시 킨 후 편광판을 이용하여 초기 응력 상태를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Combination loop archwire와 활주역학으로 전치를 후방 견인 시 compensating curve가 0도, 15도, 30도로 증가할수록 전치부 치근단 부위의 최대 무의차수가 감소하였다. 2. Combination loop archwire와 활주역 학으로 전치를 후방 견인 시 compensating curve가 0도, 15도, 30도로 증가할수록 견치와 소구치 부위의 최대 무의차수가 증가하였다. 3. Combination loop archwire로 전치를 견인할 때보다 동일한 힘을 사용하여 활주역 학으로 견인할 때 전치부 치근단 부위에서 다소 낮은 무의차수를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과에서 Combination loop archwire와 활주역학을 이용한 상악전치의 후방 견인시 견인방법에 큰 차이 없이 호선에 부여한 compensating curve는 전치의 설측 경사이동 양상을 어느 정도 감소시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 힘의 적용위치가 저항중심에 더욱 가까운 hook을 이용한 활주 역학이 전치의 설측경사 방지에 더 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.가 높게 나타나는 현상을 부분적으로 설명하여 주는 것으로 사료된다.용한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.ing할 경우, arch perimeter의 증가량은 Curve of Spee의 최대 길이의 1/2보다 적게 나타났다.$(_{60}PBS)$는 전단결합강도(SBS)의 $34\%$ 수준이었으며, 인장결합강도(TBS)에 대해서는 $61\%$ 수준이었으며, Non-etched Foil-Mesh base에서 최저 Peel 결합 강도$(_{60}PBS)$는 전단결합강도(SBS)의 $34\%$ 수준이었으며, 인장결합강도(TBS)에 대해서는 $55\%$ 수준이었다. 4. 단위 면적 당 결합강도에 있어서 전단결합강도(SBS)와 인장결합강도(TBS) 및 $75^{\circ}\;와\;90^{\circ}$ peel 결합강도는 Micro-Loc base와 Chessboard base에서 차이 가 없었으며 Non-etched Foil-Mesh base에서 가장 작았고(p<0.05), $0^{\circ},\;15^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}$ peel응력을 적용한 결과 Chessboard base에서 가장 큰 Peel결합강도를, Non-etched Foil-Mesh base에서 가장 작은 결합강도를 보였다(p<0.05).았다. 6. 주사전자현미경으로 본 표면은 모든 제품에서 생산과정 중에 보이는 압흔과 pitting이 관찰되는데, 진성기업의 Stainless Steel은 가늘고 긴 압흔이 있으며 비교적 매끄러운 표면을 보이고, Unitek사의 경우 압흔과 함께 pitting 이 관찰되며, Ormco Stainless Steel의 경우 불규칙한 pitting이 다수 존재했다

Application of Quadratic Algebraic Curve for 2D Collision-Free Path Planning and Path Space Construction

  • A new algorithm for planning a collision-free path based on an algebraic curve as well as the concept of path space is developed. Robot path planning has so far been concerned with generating a single collision-free path connecting two specified points in a given robot workspace with appropriate constraints. In this paper, a novel concept of path space (PS) is introduced. A PS is a set of points that represent a connection between two points in Euclidean metric space. A geometry mapping (GM) for the systematic construction of path space is also developed. A GM based on the 2$^{nd}$ order base curve, specifically Bezier curve of order two is investigated for the construction of PS and for collision-free path planning. The Bezier curve of order two consists of three vertices that are the start, S, the goal, G, and the middle vertex. The middle vertex is used to control the shape of the curve, and the origin of the local coordinate (p, $\theta$) is set at the centre of S and G. The extreme locus of the base curve should cover the entire area of actual workspace (AWS). The area defined by the extreme locus of the path is defined as quadratic workspace (QWS). The interference of the path with obstacles creates images in the PS. The clear areas of the PS that are not mapped by obstacle images identify collision-free paths. Hence, the PS approach converts path planning in Euclidean space into a point selection problem in path space. This also makes it possible to impose additional constraints such as determining the shortest path or the safest path in the search of the collision-free path. The QWS GM algorithm is implemented on various computer systems. Simulations are carried out to measure performance of the algorithm and show the execution time in the range of 0.0008 ~ 0.0014 sec.

SOME SPECIAL SMARANDACHE RULED SURFACES BY FRENET FRAME IN E3-II

  • In this study, firstly Smarandache ruled surfaces whose base curves are Smarandache curves derived from Frenet vectors of the curve, and whose direction vectors are unit vectors plotting Smarandache curves, are created. Then, the Gaussian and mean curvatures of the obtained ruled surfaces are calculated separately, and the conditions to be developable or minimal for the surfaces are given. Finally, the examples are given for each surface and the graphs of these surfaces are drawn.

  • In this paper, we investigate the spatial quaternionic expressions of the ruled surfaces whose base curves are formed by the Smarandache curve. Moreover, we formulate the striction curves and dralls of these surfaces. If the quaternionic Smarandache ruled surfaces are closed, the pitches and angle of pitches are interpreted. Finally, we calculate the integral invariants of these surfaces using quaternionic formulas.

A new base plate system using deformed reinforcing bars for concrete filled tubular column

  • An experimental study was conducted to develop a new base plate anchorage system for concrete filled tubular column under an axial load and a moment. The column was connected to a concrete foundation using ordinary deformed reinforcing bars that are installed at the inside and outside of the column. In order to investigate the moment resisting capacity of the system, horizontal cyclic loads are applied until the ultimate condition is reached with the axial load held constant. To derive a design method for moment resisting capacity, the reinforced concrete section approach was investigated with the assumption of strain compatibility. The results by this approach agreeded well with those of experiments when the bearing pressure of confined concrete and tangent modulus of steel bars are assumed appropriately. Also, it was found that the column interaction curve can be used to predict the yield strength of the base plate system.

Statistical analysis of S-N type environmental fatigue data of Ni-base alloy welds using weibull distribution

  • In this study, the probabilistic fatigue life model for Ni-base alloys was developed based on the Weibull distribution using statistical analysis of fatigue data reported in NUREG/CR-6909 and the new fatigue data of Alloy 52M/152 and 82/182. The developed Weibull model can consider right-censored data (i.e., non-failed data) and quantify the improved safety (or reliability) based on the level of failure probability. The overall margin in the current fatigue design limit model (ASME design curve + NUREG/CR-6909 Fen model) is similar to that of the Weibull model with a cumulative failure probability of approximately 2.5%. The margin in the current fatigue design limit model demonstrated inconsistencies for the Ni-base alloy weld data, whereas the Weibull model showed a consistent margin. Therefore, the Weibull model can systematically mitigate the excessive safety margin.

Shear behavior of geotextile-encased gravel columns in silty sand-Experimental and SVM modeling

  • In recent years, geotextile-encased gravel columns (usually called stone columns) have become a popular method to increasing soil shear strength, decreasing the settlement, acceleration of the rate of consolidation, reducing the liquefaction potential and increasing the bearing capacity of foundations. The behavior of improved loose base-soil with gravel columns under shear loading and the shear stress-horizontal displacement curves got from large scale direct shear test are of great importance in understanding the performance of this method. In the present study, by performing 36 large-scale direct shear tests on sandy base-soil with different fine-content of zero to 30% in both not improved and improved with gravel columns, the effect of the presence of gravel columns in the loose soils were investigated. The results were used to predict the shear stress-horizontal displacement curve of these samples using support vector machines (SVM). Variables such as the non-plastic fine content of base-soil (FC), the area replacement ratio of the gravel column (Arr), the geotextile encasement and the normal stress on the sample were effective factors in the shear stress-horizontal displacement curve of the samples. The training and testing data of the model showed higher power of SVM compared to multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network in predicting shear stress-horizontal displacement curve. After ensuring the accuracy of the model evaluation, by introducing different samples to the model, the effect of different variables on the maximum shear stress of the samples was investigated. The results showed that by adding a gravel column and increasing the Arr, the friction angle (ϕ) and cohesion (c) of the samples increase. This increase is less in base-soil with more FC, and in a proportion of the same Arr, with increasing FC, internal friction angle and cohesion decreases.
