A multi-resonant broadband acoustic transducer with six Tonpilz elements operating at different resonant frequencies in a transducer assembly was fabricated, tested, and analyzed. A compensated transducer, modified by adding series inductance to the developed multi-resonant broadband transducer, was shown to provide improved bandwidth performance with a relatively more uniform frequency response compared with the uncompensated transducer. By controlling the series inductance, flat frequency response characteristics at two frequency bands were obtained over the range 38-52 kHz with 1.1 mH inductance and 50-60 kHz with 0.4 mH inductance. These results suggest that the operating frequency of the developed multi-resonant broadband transducer in a chirp echo sounder can be shifted to a different frequency band that is optimized according to the environment for more effective echo surveys of fishing grounds.

In the Internet, to guarantee transmission rate and delay and to achieve fair bandwidth allocation, many per-flow scheduling algorithms, such as fair queueing, which have many desirable properties for congestion control, have been proposed and designed. However, algorithms based on per-flow need maintain rate state, buffer management and packet scheduling, so that it cost great deal : implement. Therefore, in this paper, to implement routers cost-effectively, we propose CS-FNE algorithm based on FNE in Core-Stateless network We evaluate CS-FNE comparing with four additional algorithms i.e., CSFQ, FRED, RED and DRR, in several different, configurations and traffic sources. Through simulation results, we show that CS-FNE algorithm can allocate fair bandwidth approximately and is simpler and easier to implement than other per-flow basis queueing mechanisms.

The problem of bandwidth allocation and routing in VP based ATM networks was studied. A priori reservation of resources for VP's reduces the statistical multiplexing gain, resulting in increased Call Blocking Probability (CBP). The focus of this study is on how to reduce CBP by the efficient bandwidth allocation and routing algorithms. Equivalent capacity concept was used to calculate the required bandwidth by the call. and the effect of traffic dispersion was explored to achieve more statistical gain. A cost-effective traffic dispersion routing algorithm, CED, was designed. The algorithm finds the optimal number of dispersion paths for a call, where the gain balances the dispersion cost. Simulation study showed that CED could significantly reduce the CBP.
In this paper, we propose a new dynamic bandwidth allocation and call admission control method for the VBR video sources with QoS constraints to provide user's quality of service requirements and at the same time to achieve an efficient resource management in networks. The proposed mechanism dynamically adjusts the necessary bandwidth by the networks based on the provided quality of service satisfaction degree of each connection in respect to the user's requirements in terms of loss ratio and average delay Simulation results show that our proposed dynamic method is able to provide the desired level of quality of service and high utilization.
In order to control interference and improve spectrum efficiency in the femtocell and macrocell overlaid system (FMOS), we propose a joint frequency bandwidth dynamic division, clustering and power control algorithm (JFCPA) for orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple access-based downlink FMOS. The overall system bandwidth is divided into three bands, and the macro-cellular coverage is divided into two areas according to the intensity of the interference from the macro base station to the femtocells, which are dynamically determined by using the JFCPA. A cluster is taken as the unit for frequency reuse among femtocells. We map the problem of clustering to the MAX k-CUT problem with the aim of eliminating the inter-femtocell collision interference, which is solved by a graph-based heuristic algorithm. Frequency bandwidth sharing or splitting between the femtocell tier and the macrocell tier is determined by a step-migration-algorithm-based power control. Simulations conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm showed the frequency-reuse probability of the FMOS reuse band above 97.6% and at least 70% of the frequency bandwidth available for the macrocell tier, which means that the co-tier and the cross-tier interference were effectively controlled. Thus, high spectrum efficiency was achieved. The simulation results also clarified that the planning of frequency resource allocation in FMOS should take into account both the spatial density of femtocells and the interference suffered by them. Statistical results from our simulations also provide guidelines for actual FMOS planning.

In this paper, we propose a method to provide the distribution of option price under local volatility model when market-provided implied volatility data are given. The local volatility model is one of the most widely used smile-consistent models. In local volatility model, the volatility is a deterministic function of the random stock price. Before estimating local volatility surface (LVS), we need to estimate implied volatility surfaces (IVS) from market data. To do this we use local polynomial smoothing method. Then we apply the Dupire formula to estimate the resulting LVS. However, the result is dependent on the bandwidth of kernel function employed in local polynomial smoothing method and to solve this problem, the proposed method in this paper makes use of model averaging approach by means of bandwidth priors, and then produces a robust local volatility surface estimation with a confidence interval. After constructing LVS, we price barrier option with the LVS estimation through Monte Carlo simulation. To show the merits of our proposed method, we have conducted experiments on simulated and market data which are relevant to KOSPI200 call equity linked warrants (ELWs.) We could show by these experiments that the results of the proposed method are quite reasonable and acceptable when compared to the previous works.
In this paper, we analyze the performance benefits of broadband ATM networks when the call control and management flows are separated from user data flows. The virtual path tunneling concept for control and management flows are applied to the same physical ATM networks. The behaviors of channel throughput and transfer delay are analyzed. It results that the proposed virtual short-cut paths can maintain the network being stable with acceptable bandwidth. They are very useful to provide the stable control and management capabilities for Internet and mobile applications in the broadband ATM networks. In our numerical results, the effective throughputs of the proposed virtual shout-ut channel are about three times than those of end-to-end user data channels with hop distances of 10, and about two times than those with hop distance of 5 when the link blocking probability increases to 0.1. It concludes that the effective channel bandwidth are greatly reduced down while physical links are not stable and user traffic flows are occasionally overflowed.
The efficient network resource management is one of the important topics in a real-time system. In this paper, we present a practical network resource management framework, control-theoretic packet scheduler (CPS) system. Using our framework, an operating system can schedule both input and output streams accurately and efficiently. Our framework adopts very portable feedback control theory for efficiency and accuracy. The CPS system is able to operate independent of the internal network protocol state, and it is designed to schedule packet streams in fine-grained time intervals to meet the resource requirement. This approach simplifies the design of the CPS system, and leads us to obtain the intended output bandwidth. We implemented our prototype system in Linux, and measured the performance of the network resource management system under various network QoS constraints. The distinctive features of our principles are as follows: It is robust and accurate, and its operation is independent of internal network protocols.

In this paper, we propose an UCC broadcasting system in P2P based IPTV environments. Proposed system applies P2P based multiple chain architecture. UCC broadcasting system transfers data from not ISP server but UCC server peer that is included in DSLAM to joined peers. Therefore an algorithm to manage join and departure of peers have to modified. In this paper we propose an algorithm that does not increase an uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server when peer joins to the UCC channel. We will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM that include UCC server.

We consider the bandwidth parking problem arising from telecommunication networks The problem is to determine the set of calls to be routed and an assignment or them to the paths in arc capacitated network. The objective is to maximize profit. We formulate the problem as an integer programming and propose an algorithm to solve it. Column generation technique to solve the linear programming relxation is proposed with two types of columns in addition, to obtain an optimum integer solution, we consider a new branching strategy. Computational experiments show that the algorithm gives option at solutions within reasonably small time limits.
