  • A FFT/IFFT processor is the key component for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems based IEEE 802.11n wireless local area network (WLAN). There exists many radix algorithms according to the structure of butterfly as FFT sub-module, each has the pros and cons on hardware complexity. Here, mixed radix algorithms for 64 and 128 FFT/IFFT processors are proposed, which reduce hardware complexity by using mixture of radix-23 and radix-4 algorithms. The proposed algorithm finish calculation within 3.2${\mu}s$ in order to meet IEEE 802.11n standard requirements and it has less hardware complexity compared with conventional algorithms.

  • The properties of ultra-thin two-dimensional (2D) organic ferroelectric Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of the poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF-TrFE)] were investigated to find possible applicability in flexible and wearable electronics applications. In the C-V characteristics of the MFM capacitor of 2-monolayer of 5 nm films, a butterfly hysteresis curve due to the ferroelectricity of P(VDF-TrFE) was confirmed. Typical residual polarization value was measured at 2μC/㎠. When the MFM capacitor with ultra-thin ferroelectric film was measured by applying a 10 Hz bipolar pulse, it was shown that 65% of the initial polarization value in 105 cycles deteriorated the polarization. The leakage current density of the 2-monolayer film was maintained at about 5 × 10-8 A/㎠ for the case at a 5MV/cm electric field. The resistivity of the 2-monolayer film in the case at an electric field at 5 MV/cm was more than 2.35 × 1013 Ω·cm.

  • An atlantoaxial subluxation from the unstable Os odontoideum by the failure of proper integrations between the embryological somites might be a commonly reported pathology. However, its suspicious origin or paralleled occurrence with other congenital anomalies of vertebral body might be a relatively rare phenomenon. The authors present two cases, who simply presented with clinical signs of prolonged, intractable cervicalgia without any neurological deficits, revealed this rare feature of C1-2 subluxation from the unstable, orthotropic type of Os odontoideum that coincide with congenitally fused cervical vertebral bodies between C2-3. Surprisingly, in one case, when traced from the lower cervical down to the thoracic-lumbar levels during the preoperative work-up process, was also compromised with multi-level butterfly vertebrae formations. Presented cases highlight the association of various congenital vertebrae anomalies and the rationale to fuse only affected joints.

  • Traditional Cloud Computing would be unable to safely host IoT data due to its high latency as the number of IoT sensors and physical devices accommodated on the Internet grows by the day. Because of the difficulty of processing all IoT large data on Cloud facilities, there hasn't been enough research done on automating the security of all components in the IoT-Cloud ecosystem that deal with big data and real-time jobs. It's difficult, for example, to build an automatic, secure data transfer from the IoT layer to the cloud layer, which incorporates a large number of scattered devices. Addressing this issue this article presents an intelligent algorithm that deals with enhancing security aspects in IoT cloud ecosystem using butterfly optimization algorithm.

  • Ipomoea cristulata Hallier f. (Convolvulaceae), native to the desert regions of the central USA to Mexico, was newly found in Gojeong-ri, Deokgwa-myeon, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do. This species can be distinguished from I. coccinea by leaves with 3-5 lobes, hirsute distributed adaxially, and corolla entirely red or orange-red. Its Korean name is 'Nabi-ip-yu-hong-cho' based on its butterfly-shaped leaves. We provide a detailed description, photographs, habitat details, and a taxonomic key to related taxa.

  • In this study, a cyclic tensile test on a notched butterfly specimen made of woven glass fiber composite was performed on a modified Arcan fixture. During the mechanical test, the sample was monitored with a hybrid stereoscopic system comprised of two visible lights and one infrared camera. The visible light cameras were employed for kinematic measurements using a finite-element-based multiview correlation technique. A semi-hybrid correlation approach was followed, providing Lagrangian temperature fields of the Region of Interest. Due to the complex composite architecture and specimen shape, localized shearing was observed during the tensile loading. Furthermore, asymmetrical damage developed around the notches as revealed by localized strains and thermal hot spots.

  • The Aims of this study are to investigate ecological environments and indoor-rearing conditions of Eurema hecabe for artificial rearing. Two different nesting site, a open area nearby small river(A area; Daejin-ri, Gonyang-myeon, Sachun-si, Gyoungsangnam-do) and a foot of a hill area(B area; Noryang-ri, Seolcheon-myeon, Namhae-gun, Kyoungsangnam-do), selected for investigation of ecological habitat environment, and investigated two times per month, during six month, from June to November in 2010. In result, the number of butterflies, Eurema hecabe, at the hill area(B area) was 6 times more than the open area(A area). We observed the number of eggs, larvae and puapae in the B area more times compared to those in the A area. In the B area, Lespedeza cuneata was higher preference than the other host plant, Lespedeza pilosa and Albizia julibrissin. For development of indoor-rearing conditions, common grass yellow butterfly, Eurema hecabe, was reared in a room condition. As a result of oviposition preference experiment, 100-mated-female laid significantly higher number of eggs $104.9{\pm}19.6$ on Lespedeza cuneata plant, whereas the number of eggs was $12.7{\pm}4.5$ on Cassia obtusifolia plant. Moreover, the eggs hatched within $5.1{\pm}0.9$ days from the day of oviposition and procent of egg hatchability was 53.7% on host plant. The headwidth of each developmental larval stage were $0.36{\pm}0.02$(1st), $0.61{\pm}0.02$(2nd), $0.93{\pm}0.05$(3rd), $1.46{\pm}0.08$(4th), $2.25{\pm}0.11$(5th). The larval period was $12.1{\pm}0.9$ days under high temperature, long day condition($25^{\circ}C$, 16L : 8D), showing 81.0% pupal ratio. The pupal period was $6.9{\pm}0.7$ days, and the emergence rate was 79.6%. Based on above experiment, artificial rearing system of common grass yellow butterfly, Eurema hecabe was completed in indoor condition.
