A study on the exhaust noise reduction of automobile with the active muffler (엑티브 머플러를 이용한 실차 배기 소음 저감에 관한 연구)

  • The exhaust noise reduction of automobile with the active muffler is experimentally investigated. The control algorithm is the filtered-x LMS algorithm and the inverse algorithm with the adaptive line enhancer. Also, the control efficiency is increased with synthesized second harmonic engine frequency. In the experiment, the active muffler is applied to the end of exhaust system in automobile and the control with on-line secondary path modeling method(inverse algorithm) is compared the control of off-line secondary path modeling method. As secondary path transfer functions are changed, the experimental results show that the control performance with on-line method is more efficient than that with off-line method in the exhaust noise reduction of automobile.

FLOW AND TEMPERATURE ANALYSIS WITHIN AUTOMOBILE CABIN BY DISCHARGED HOT AIR FROM DEFROST NOZZLE

  • As an automobile tends to be high grade, the needs for more luxurious interior and comfortable HVAC system are emerged. The defrosting ability is another major factor of the performances of HVAC system. The present work is to simulate the flow and the temperature field of cabin interior during the defrost mode. The three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations and energy equation were solved on the multi blocked grid system by the iterative time marching method and AF scheme, respectively. The present computations were validated by the comparison of the temperature field of a driven cavity and velocity field of 1/5 model scale of an automobile. Generally good agreements were obtained. By the present computation, the complicated features of flow and temperature within the automotive cabin interior could be well understood.

-Preferred Color of Purchasing Automobile According to Face Types- (얼굴유형별 승용차 구매 선호색채)

  • Based on the past research works on the relationship between face types and personality, personality and purchasing behavior, personality and color preference, face types and preference color, the author made a surmise that there could be any differences in color preference of purchasing automobiles according to face types. Objective of this research is to analyze what differences there are preferred colors of purchasing automobile according to face types. The questionnaires for preferred color of purchasing automobile were carefully surveyed, which was classified again by the face types. The result showed the facts, that the reverse-triangle face type preferred red color, the rectangular type yellow one, the round type green one, the diamond type the blue one, respectively. We suggested that the result could be utilized in establishing the automobile sales policy, provided some problems are fixed and the concrete researches into the factors that have influence on buying patterns and into the preferred color are carried out.

An AHP Approach to Evaluate the priorities of Manufacturing Performance Criteria in Korean Automobile Parts Manufacturing Company (AHP에 의한 한국자동차부품제조사의 제조성과기준의 중요도 평가)

  • The critical role played by manufacturing performance measurement systems in achieving competitive success is increasingly recognized. Developing an integrated performance measurement model is significant for strategic management. This study consist of several principal steps. Performance criteria from the literature and an questionnaire were utilized prior to building the performance model. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is utilized to evaluate the weight of each criterion when generating the performance measurement model for Korea automobile parts manufacturing company. AHP analysis showed clear difference in the priority between 5 criteria and 24 sub-criteria in terms of manufacturing performance of Korean automobile parts manufacturing company. The result of priority evaluation in the 5 criteria of 2nd level was ranked quality, cost, delivery, employee, flexibility. And the critical sub-criteria in the 24 sub-criteria of 3rd level was ranked claim rate, process defect rate, outsourcing parts defect rate, ability to quality management innovation, claim cost, etc.
