Development of Door Control Unit for the Electric Plug-in Door of Subway Train (전동차 전기식 플러그도어 출입문 제어 장치 개발)

  • The Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) has many types of door system such as sliding door, plug door etc.al. according to customer's requirements. The sliding door is widely used in Korea but has weak point in the noise problem. In the low operation speed, the noise coming from outer side of the EMU is not an important factor. As the speed is higher than before, noise is increased and make a problem. The main cause of noise is the imperfect air tightness in the EMU. The plug door system has advantages for the noise reduction characteristic in the high speed area. We have been developing electric plug-in door. The door is controlled by Door Control Unit(DCU) following the order of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) that is a kind of train signalling system. DCU has to simultaneously open and close the doors and the operation of it is related to the passengers safety. So DCU is a safety device that is important to reliability and safety. DCU is composed of several devices of control, motor driving, Input/Output, communication and power. In this paper, we will describe the functions, characteristic, requirement, subsystem and test results of DCU used for the electric plug-in door.

  • Doors are to be the most basics of our lives from opening, closing and even keeping our property. Hence, doors have been innovated to blend in and make our daily lives more convenient. However, we find it difficult to open and close the doors manually of offices or tour zones, where they open and close at a precise time everyday. To solve this, we added a dimension of time to previous Door Locks. By this, every door with this specific door lock will open and close at a certain time we want them to open or close. Also, through the application you can control the time or use it to open and close the doors remotely. In order to do this, we systemed the door lock time system based on Java Programing language to make it easy to communicate and open or close the doors through smart phone applications, with the C programming language for the ATmega128 which will open and close the doors.

  • In case of a dangerous situation, the roof, which serves as an emergency exit, must be open in case of fire according to the Fire Act. However, when the roof door is opened, it has become a place of various incidents and accidents such as illegal entry, crime, and suicide. As a result, it is a reality to close the roof door in terms of facility management to prevent crime, various incidents, and accidents. Accordingly, the government is pushing to legislate regulations on housing construction standards, etc. that mandate the installation of electronic automatic opening and closing devices on rooftop doors. Therefore, in this paper, an intelligent emergency door opening/closing device system is proposed. To this end, an intelligent emergency door opening and closing system was developed by linking wired and wireless access counting and AI image analysis. Finally, it is possible to build a wireless communication-based integrated management platform that provides remote control and history management in a centralized method of device status real-time monitoring and event alarm.

  • The twenty seven houses at Incheon city, were remodeled in 2009 for the physically handicapped people. This research had been done the analysis of the itemized questionnaire by the needs of the physically handicapped for their better living environment and suggested the following remodeling devices. First of all, there was the priority for the remodeling of their living facilities. According to their priority, they wanted to remodel their bathroom, kitchen & dining room, veranda, living room, and hall way. These were based on their needs of movement, personal hygiene, convenient closet, and cabinet usage. In particular, their demands were shown as followings. The wheelchair using handicapped people required safe doorknobs, unslippery floor materials, removal of step levels, and heights adjustable washing stand for their bathroom. They also requested washboard, non-threshold, and automatic door locks. Otherwise, the disabled in critical condition who could not move anything preferred the remodeling of inner structure of living spaces and automatic door system. The slight disabled and the families those who have the disabled demanded the remodeling of kitchen & dining room, and preferred the reorganization of closet, cabinets, floor tiles, and turncock. The remodeling of bedroom was mostly requested by the disabled women, people with the brain disorder, and disabled people in critical condition who could not move anything. They wanted the remote controlled lightings.

  • This paper introduces a smart door system composed of security system and secretary system. As ratio of single households increase, the security of household became more important. Also already there were a lot of artificial intelligence secretary system based on voice called smart home technology. But It has limits. It can not work without user's requests. That mean it is not automatic. And the voice recognition depend on user's pronounce. Thus in this paper, we design and develop smart door system that is added function of security and secretary. That can inform users that there are outsider in front of their house in real time. Also that can speak information such as user's requirements, delivery and weather information using TTS. As a result they can prevent crimes and use convenient secretary system.

  • Though the Platform Screen Door System (PSD) has received a positive evaluation and is installed in all the Urban Railroad platforms, PSD is not installed in the Intercity Railroad platforms. The limitation of PSD in the Intercity Railroad platforms is due to the fact that first, various types of trains such as KTX, Saemaeul, Mugunghwa, and Nuriro stop at the platforms and their locations of the doors are different and secondly, they are not operated under ATO (automatic train operation). RPSD system currently under research and development, on the other hand, is based on the improved door that slides up and down and can be installed in any Intercity Railroad platform regardless of the length of the train, the location of doors, and the number of doors. This study considers the mechanism of RPSD, develops a manual open/close algorithm, and evaluates the function of RPSD. The results show that the manual open/close algorithm achieves a significant improvement in efficiency when provided with power supply.

  • The initial urban railway was only required to perform its role as means of transportation. As the time of staying in an underground platform was extended, it has been faced with the issues of environmental improvement as a living space. Therefore, the sliding automatic door, which is the basis of the screen door, is used widely for large distribution stores, hospitals, restaurants, and public offices for customers' convenience and as a convenient method to control access. Therefore, screen doors are required for the purpose of customers' convenience, securing safety, establishing pleasant station buildings, and energy savings. It would be also necessary to develop the optimal design technology for a screen door system through the design of element parts and to ensure reliability. Therefore, this paper calculated, interpreted, and verified the theoretical weight of the composition parts to verify the design drive hardness of the motor for screen doors necessary for the safety of subways.

  • When the electric motor car was first introduced, an engineer, responsible for the work related to operation and a conductor for the announcement and management of entrances and the other services like as monitoring the passengers in the platforms used to take together the train for passengers' safe. As new technologies developed and the urban transit system had the automatic driving facilities, automatic door switch and broadcasting systems, to solve the financial problems, most subway systems introduced the one-man operation system. To curtail the operating expense through automatic control and operation for the economical efficiency, the crewless driving system was introduced abroad around 1970 on the light weight train and Japan started the crewless driving system in 2005, Germany started it in June 2008. We examine system requirements of the system and methods to construct safe systems that would be introduced, suitable for one-man operation system or crewless driving system through the surveys and analysis of driving state and the systems.

  • Platform Screen Door(PSD) has been installed and operated at seoul subway line $1\sim4$ in the manual train operation mode(ATS/ATC) by SeoulMetro since 2005. SeoulMetro uses the wireless (RF) communication system and the train door detection system for the link between the train and PSD doors opening/closing motion in the manual train operation mode. For the convenience and safety of passengers, the train doors and the PSD doors opening/closing shall be synchronized as much as possible. In ATO(Automatic Train Operation) mode which provides the interface between train control system and PSD system, ATO signaling system makes the train doors and PSD doors open/close command signals systematically, so PSD doors can be opened/closed almost simultaneously with the train doors. But, in the manual train control(ATS/ATC) mode, PSD system needs to detect the train doors open/close operation and make PSD open/close command signals to actuate PSD doors. These PSD open/close commanding process cause time delay of PSD doors opening/closing motion in response to the train doors opening/closing motion. Sometimes the response delay time can be over 1 second, which is not proper to operate PSD, and need to be reduced This paper presents the reduction method of the PSD response delay time to improve the convenience and safety of passengers.

  • The paper attempts to design and implement the system which can remotely check visitors' speech or Image by a mobile phone. This system is designed to recognize who a visitor is through the automatic calling service, not through a short message, via the mobile phone, even when the home owner is outside. In general, door locks are controlled through the home Server, but it is more effective to control door locks by using DTMF signal from a real-time point of view. The technology suggested in this paper makes it possible to communicate between the visiter and the home owner by making a phone call to tile home owner's mobile phone automatically when the visiter visits the house even if the home owner is outside, and if necessary, it allows for the home owner to control the door lock remotely. Thanks to the system, the home owner is not restricted by time or space for checking the visitor's identification and controlling the door lock. In addition, the security system is improved by changing from the existing password form to the combination of password and speaker verification lot the verification procedure required for controlling the door lock and setting the environment under consideration of any disadvantages which may occur when the mobile Phone is lost. Also, any existing problems such as reconnection to tile network for controlling tile door lock are solved by controlling the door lock in real time by use of DTMF signal while on the phone.
