  • In this paper, authors will develop the quick and precise remote controller of automatic fire detection equipment (P-type one-class receiver) based on information communication technology (IT). The remote controller detects the fire and disaster in the building automatically and quickly and then activates the facilities to extinguish the fire and disaster, monitoring such situation in a real time through wire-wireless communication network. The proposed remote controller is applied a programmable logic device (PLD) micom. of one-chip type which is small size and lightweight and also has highly sensitive-precise reliabilities. The one-chip type PLD micom. analyzes digital signals from sensors, then activates fire extinguishing facilities for alarm and rapid suppression in a case of fire and disaster. The detected data is also transferred to a remote situation room through wire-wireless network of RS232c and bluetooth communication, and then the situation room sends an emergency alarm signal. The automatic fire detection equipment (AFDE) based on IT will minimize the life and wealth loss while prevents fire and disaster.

  • Automatic change detection based on the vector-to-raster comparison is hard especially in high-resolution image. This paper proposes a method to designate roads in high-resolution image in sequential manner using the information from vector map in which Hough transform is used for reliability. By its linearity, the road of urban areas in a vector map can be easily parameterized. Following some pre-processing to remove undesirable objects, we obtain the edge map of raster image. Then the edge map is transformed to a parameter space to find the selected road from vector map. The comparison is done in the parameter space to find the best matching. The set of parameters of a road from vector map is treated as the constraints to do matching. After designating the road, we may overlay it on the raster image for precise monitoring. The results can be used for detection of changes in road object in a semi-automatic fashion.

  • The car design has changed a lot over the past 100 years, but the side mirrors have not changed. It is not right in the fourth round of the Industrial Revolution. It is also an analog format, which has many disadvantages. Accordingly, by replacing the side mirror to the camera to change the digital it was improve the limitations and disadvantages of the 'mirror' with. It also has additional benefits such as fuel savings of 5 to 10 percent per year and automatic detection of threats. In this project, we used Razberry pie, which is highly compatible, as a main board, and connected infrared distance sensor and monitor module to focus on automatic threat detection.

  • One of the most important applications of computer vision algorithms is the detection of threat objects in x-ray security images. However, in the practical setting, this task is complicated by two properties inherent to the dataset, namely, the problem of class imbalance and visual complexity. In our previous work, we resolved the class imbalance problem by using a GAN-based anomaly detection to balance out the bias induced by training a classification model on a non-practical dataset. In this paper, we propose a new method to alleviate the visual complexity problem by using a KNN-based automatic cropping algorithm to remove distracting and irrelevant information from the x-ray images. We use the cropped images as inputs to our current model. Empirical results show substantial improvement to our model, e.g. about 3% in the practical dataset, thus further outperforming previous approaches, which is very critical for security-based applications.

  • This paper proposes a real-time multi-camera video surveillance system with automatic resolution control using motion detection. In ordinary times, it acquires 4 channels of QVGA images, and it merges them into single VGA image and transmit it. When motion is detected, it automatically increases the resolution of motion-occurring channel to VGA and decreases those of 3 other channels to QQVGA, and then these images are overlaid and transmitted. Thus, it can magnifies and watches the motion-occurring channel while maintaining transmission bandwidth and monitoring all other channels. When it is synthesized with 0.18 um technology, the maximum operating frequency is 110 MHz, which can theoretically support 4 HD cameras.

  • This paper presents the development of automatic defect detection program using 3D computed tomography image of small solid rocker motor. We applied the neighbor pixel comparison algorithm with beam hardening correction for the recognition of defect. We made the artificial defect specimen in order to decide a standard CT value of defect. The program was tested with 150 small solid rocket motors and it could detect the disbond, crack, foreign material and void. The program showed more reliable and faster results than human inspector's interpretation.

  • For the implementation of a real-time holographic camera, fast and automatic holographic image reconstruction is an essential technology. In this paper, we propose a new automatic depth-detection algorithm for fast holography reconstruction, which is particularly useful for optical scanning holography. The proposed algorithm is based on the inherent phase difference information in the heterodyne signals, and operates without any additional optical or electrical components. An optical scanning holography setup was created using a heterodyne frequency of 4 MHz with a 500-mm distance and 5-mm depth resolution. The reconstruction processing time was measured to be 0.76 s, showing a 62% time reduction compared to a recent study.

  • In this paper, a method has been proposed for the fully automatic detection of left ventricular endocardial boundary in B-mode short axis echocardiography without manual intervention by human operator. The proposed method makes use of the weighted model that approximates to endocardium and incomplete edge information for echocardiography. Therefore, this method is more effective than boundary detection by only edge information. The implementation of this method is as follows. First, the proposed algorithms are used in order to detect the approximate boundary, then a weighted model with the approximate boundary is constructed. Finally, the cavity center of the left ventricle performing the Hough transform with the weighted model and edge image can be found automatically, and then the endocardial boundary using detected center, original image, weighted model, and edge image can be detected. validations of this method with experimental results on echo image of dog's heart and clinical echocardiography is verified.

  • The Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) system is a key component of CNS/ATM recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as the next generation air traffic control system. ADS-B broadcasts identification, positional data, and operation information of an aircraft to other aircraft, ground vehicles and ground stations in the nearby region. This paper explores the ADS-B based trajectory prediction and the conflict detection algorithm. The multiple-model based trajectory prediction algorithm leads accurate predicted conflict probability at a future forecast time. We propose an efficient and accurate algorithm to calculate conflict probability based on approximation of the conflict zone by a set of blocks. The performance of proposed algorithms is demonstrated by a numerical simulation of two aircraft encounter scenarios.
