Vision System Design for Automatic Test and Repair of Steam Generator Holes in Nuclear Power Plants (원자력발전소 증기 발생기의 자동검사 및 수리를 위한 비젼시스템 설계)

  • In this paper we propose a new approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from the radiation exposure. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator tubes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment for similar steam generator model.

  • When the water quality modelling is done with a manual calibration, it is possible that the researcher's opinion may affect the objectivity of the research. Hence, the role of the automatic calibration is highly important. This research applies a technique to automatically calibrate the water quality parameters by implementing an optimization method. This involves estimating the optimum water quality parameters targeting influential parameters towards the lake's BOD, DO, Phosphorus, Nitrogen and Phytoplankton. To accurately calculate the water temperature and hydraulic characteristics of a deep, stratifying lake, EFDC, a 3-dimensional hydraulic model which can be linked to the WASP7 was applied. With EFDC, the segment of the lake is formed and utilized as an input data of the WASP7. For the calibration of the water quality parameters of the WASP7, an influence coefficient algorithm and a genetic algorithm was applied. Of the five water quality variables for calibration, the normalized residuals of the observed and calculated values of DO, TN, CBOD were relatively small and the three water quality variables were calibrated properly. Yet the accuracy of the calibration of TP and Chl-a was relatively low.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 연약지반의 압밀계수 측정에 있어 Piezocone 관입시험을 이용할 때 관입시험자체의 정확성과 시험결과들에 미치는 여러 가지 지반공학적 영향요소들을 고려하려는데 있다. 본 연구의 연구실험방법으로는, Piezocone 관입을 위한 연약모형지반 조성을 위하여 초대형 Slurry Consolidometer에 Free Stress 상태의 Slurry를 45일간 압밀시킨 후 Automatic Computer Control Calibration Chamber (LSU/CALCHAS; Louisiana State University Calibration Chamber System)에 옮긴후 다시한번 압밀시키는 Two-Stage Consolidation Method를 사용하였다 동시에 연약모형지반내에 8개의 Piezometer를 설치하여 Piezocone 관입시 유발되는 지반 내에서의 과잉간극수압의 변환을 측정하였다. 총 25개의 Piezocone 시험중 4개는 Standard 10$\textrm{cm}^2$ Piezocone이고, 나머지 21개는 Miniature Piezocone이 사용되었다. 모형지반은 여러 가지 Boundary Condition들과 Stress Condition 그리고 Stress History등을 고려하여 조성되었다. 또한 Dissipation Test직후의 압밀특성을 확인하기 위하여 0.01초당 한 개이상의 실측점을 측정할 수 있는 Digital-Oscilloscope를 이용하였다. 특히 Dissipation Test, 즉시 Piezocone의 Filter Element에 잡히지 않는 과잉간극수압의 Initial Drop 존재에 관한 기존의 추측을 실제 실험치로 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In the face of increasing impact of climate change due to human activities, there has been an urgent need to resolve the problem in water resources planning management and environmental engineering. Therefore SWAT model was used to identify the impacts and change in hydrological cycle and environmental aspect. The most important step for the development of SWAT model is calibration procedure. Therefore, SWAT-CUP automatic calibration module was used to find some optimal parameters in SWAT model. After calibration in the cheongmicheon basin, SWAT model is used for the projected precipitation and temperature of RCP 4.5 and 8.5 climate change scenarios in AR5. The quantity and quality using SWAT model from 2014 to 2100 were identified. Finally, this study can provide the reasonable finding on impact by climate change.

  • This paper presents a new approach to the calibration of a SCARA robot orientation with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely, radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. radial distortion causes an inward or outward displacement of a given Image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to various degrees of decentering, that is, the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. Thin prism distortion arises from imperfection in lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of parts and to apply the line of manufacturing.

  • An automated calibration system of sound level meters was developed and tested. As a standard sound source, the speaker unit(Forstex FE208) cabineted by 440 * 390 * 490 mm$^{3}$(LHW) volume wood box was adopted. Including this source, the driving part was found out to have a good linearity of sound pressure output vs AC input. We use the Hybrid-Bisect, /Newton-Raphson method modified by the linearity as searching algorithm. Personal computer and program do the control, measurements, and calculations and finally do the accumulation of useful data and results. Several trials of automatic calibration using this developed system give reliable results.

  • By using beam-projectors, we can easily configure a big image system. In the process of installing beam-projectors, however manual steps are essentially needed to perform a calibration such that distortions can be minimized. In order to automatically perform the correction of distortion, in this paper we propose a new auto-calibration method for beam-projector, which is based on Zigbee and can be easily implemented by simple hardware and software. In the proposed scheme, we recognize the required image project area by using Zigbee-based sensor module, and then we can obtain the best beam projection even in the case that the screen is badly twisted.

  • We propose a pixel-level automatic calibration circuit scheme that initializes a capacitive fingerprint sensor LSI to eliminate the influence of the surface condition and environment, which is degraded by dirt during long-time use, process variation and ambient temperature. The sample chip is fabricated on $0.35{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. The calibration is executed by optimizing the reference voltage in each pixel to make the sensor signals of all pixels the same. The calibration control circuit is composed of the sensing circuit and charge pumping circuit, and calibrates all pixels in a short time. 16-level gray scale fingerprint images can be captured to increase the accuracy of identification. This confirms that the scheme is effective for capturing consistent clear images during long-time use.
