An automated measurement system for the microwave surface resistance of high-T$_c$ superconductor films

  • A prototype for a highly sensitive, automated measurement system for the microwave surface resistance of high-T$_c$ superconductor films was set up, and tested by measuring the microwave surface resistances of high-T$_c$ YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-{\delta}}$(YBCO) films at the frequency of about 19.6 GHz and the temperature of 30 K ${\sim}$ 90 K. An open-ended TE$_{011}$ mode sapphire-loaded cylindrical cavity resonator was used as the measurement probe, where YBCO films were used as the endplates of the cylindrical cavity. The characteristics of the measurement system include functions to display the unloaded ${\varrho}$ and the resonant frequency of the TE$_{011}$ mode resonator as well as the microwave surface resistance of the YBCO films, all simultaneously as a function of temperature. Applicability of the measurement system for investigating the homogeneity in the microwave properties of large high-T$_c$ superconductor films is discussed.

고정밀 공작기계의 열적효과 측정 및 불확도 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Effects Measurement and Uncertainty Estimation for High Precision Machine Tools)

  • When the main spindle of high precision machine tools are run many hours, heat is generated in bearing parts of the inside of the spindle. Also, headstock is appeared distortion by inside and outside temperature difference of a machine. This paper studies method to measure behavior of machine tool about these thermal effects. In addition, it estimates measurement uncertainty factors which can be appeared in thermal effects measurement. Finding the factor of thermal affect measurement is important for estimation of measurement uncertainty. This paper measures thermal effects of high precision machine tools and evaluates the important factors of uncertainty.

Development of an Automated Measurement System for Dilution Process and Spraying Amount of Disinfectant

  • Purpose: The objectives of this study were to develop an automated disinfectant dilution system, and an automated data management system for spraying amount for resolving uncertainty problem. Methods: Proper diluting rate was made by a controlled volume pump for liquid disinfectant and a screw conveyer pump for solid disinfectant. The water capacity of disinfecting system of 400 L was controlled by two water level sensors. The water quantity of water tank was controlled by the signals which were produced by the water level sensors. Signals were processed by Labview Programming, and ON/OFF of solenoid valve that was used for controlling water supplying to water tank, was controlled by SSR. The operating time of pumps for disinfectant was controlled quantitatively. A turbine flowmeter was used for development of automated measurement system for spraying amount of disinfectant. In order to save the flowmeter data and to control the spraying system, a multi-function data logger was used, and it was processed and saved in Excel file by a program developed in this study. Results: Labview 2010 was used for programming to control the automated measurement system for spraying amount of disinfectant. Results showed that the relationship between flowmeter value and time had a significant linear relationship such as 0.99 of $R^2$. Generally, 6.74 L/s of diluted disinfectant is sprayed for a vehicle passing through the disinfection system (about 15 seconds). Test results showed that average error between the measured spraying amount and the flowmeter data was 50 mL, and the range of error was 1.3%. Since the amount and time of spraying could be saved in real-time by using the spreadsheet files which could not be modified arbitrarily, it made possible to judge objectively whether the disinfection spraying was performed or not. Test results of spraying liquid and solid disinfectant showed that the errors between the measured discharge rate and the theoretical one were ranged within 3-4% for various dilution rates. Conclusions: The disinfection system developed would be working accurately. The automated spraying data base management system satisfied the purpose of this study. The automated dilution process system developed in this study could discharge liquid and solid disinfectant with accurate dilution rate, relatively.

  • 진탕플라스크 배양액의 균 증식도를 자동측정하기 위하여 자동화 FIA장치를 경제적으로 제작하였으며, 이를 이용하여 대장균을 Nutrient broth 배지에 접종하여 배양하면서 그 증식도를 자동측정하였다. 멸균 NB를 이송용액으로 하고 10분 간격으로 자동측정하였을 때 큰 오차 없이 증식양상을 세밀하게 측정할 수 있었다. 증류수를 이송용액으로 사용한 경우에는 NB를 이송용액으로 사용한 경우에 비하여 측정오차가 더 컸으며, 특히 배양후반부에서의 오차가 크게 나타났다.

  • In this paper, an adaptive image binarization scheme is proposed for automated surface strain measurement. At first, we reviewed an image based 3D deformation factor measurement briefly. Then, a new adaptive thresholding method is proposed for the extraction of lattice pattern from a deformed plate image using its local mean and variance. Some experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of our approaches.

레이저센서를 이용한 비접촉식 두께자동측정기 개발 (Development of Automated Non-contact Thickness Measurement Machine using a Laser Sensor)

  • In this study, we developed an automated non-contact thickness measurement machine that continuously and precisely measures the thickness and warp of a PCB product using a laser sensor. The system contains a measurement part to measure the thickness in real time automatically according to the set conditions with an alignment supply unit and unloading unit to separate OK and NG products. The measurement machine was utilized to evaluate the performance at each step to minimize measurement error. At the zero setting for the initial setup, the standard deviation of the 216 samples was determined to be $5.52{\mu}m$. A measurement error of 0.5mm and 1.0mm as a standard sample in the measurement accuracy assessment was found to be 2.48% and 2.28%, respectively. In the factory acceptance test, the standard deviation of 1.461mm PCB was measured as $28.99{\mu}m$, with a $C_{pk}$ of 1.2. The automatic thickness measurement machine developed in this study can contribute to productivity and quality improvement in the mass production process.

$SEDIsystem^{TM}$을 이용한 적혈구 침강속도 측정의 평가 (Evaluation of Automated ESR Measuring System, $SEDIsystem^{TM}$)

  • 적혈구 침강속도는 전통적인 검사의 하나로서 진단에 있어서는 다소 비특이적인 검사이지만 몇몇 질병의 activity를 평가하고 추적검사에 유용한 것으로 평가되고 있다. Westergren법이 표준화된 검사법으로 인정받고 있으나 보고자에 따라 CV값이 0.8-22.9%로 보고되고 있다. 저자들은 143명의 검체를 대상으로 ESR 자동화 기기인$SEDIsystem^{TM}$ 사용하여 ESR을 측정하고 modified Westergren법, Wintrobe법과 비교하여 임상에 적용될 수 있는지를 검토하였다. $SEDIsystem^{TM}$로 측정한 ESR 결과와 modified Westergren법으로 측정한 ESR 결과사이의 상관식 및 상관계수(r)는 y = 0.863x - 1.69 (r=0.830)이었고, $SEDIsystem^{TM}$로 측정한 ESR 결과와 Wintrobe법으로 측정한 ESR 결과사이의 상관식 및 상관계수(r)는 y = 1. 14x - 14.7 (r=0.789)이었고, 검체의 안정성을 평가하기 위해 시간에 따른 ESR의 반복 측정치는 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다. 위의 결과로 볼 때 $SEDIsystem^{TM}$을 이용한 검사는 기존의 modified Westergren, Wintrobe법들과의 상관성이 높았고 4시간까지 안정된 결과를 보였으며 또한 대량의 검체를 신속하게 보고할 수 있어서 임상 혈액검사실에서 이용하기에 적합하다고 생각된다.

밭토양에서 폐쇄형 자동 챔버법으로 측정한 아산화질소 농도에 대한 측정 불확도 (Measurement Uncertainty of Nitrous Oxide Concentrations from a Upland Soil Measured by an Automated Open Closed Chamber Method)

  • BACKGROUND: The closed chamber method is the most commonly used for measuring greenhouse gas emissions from upland fields. This method has the advantages of being simple, easily available and economical. However, uncertainty estimation is essential for accurate assessment of greenhouse gas emissions and verification of emission reductions. The nitrous oxide emissions from upland field is very important for the nitrogen budget in the agriculture sectors. Although assessment of uncertainty components affecting nitrous oxide emission from upland field is necessary to take account of dispersion characteristics, research on these uncertainty components is very rare to date. This study aims at elucidation of influencing factors on measurement uncertainty of nitrous oxide concentrations measured by an automated open closed chamber method from upland field. METHODS AND RESULTS: The nitrous oxide sampling system is located in the upland field in Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (37°13'22"N, 127°02'22"E). The primary measurement uncertainty components influencing nitrous oxide concentrations (influencing factors) investigated in this research are repeatability, reproducibility and calibration in the aspects of nitrous oxide sampling and analytical instrumentation. The magnitudes of the relative standard uncertainty of each influencing factor are quantified and compared. CONCLUSION: Results of this study show what influencing factors are more important in determination of nitrous oxide concentrations measured using the automated open closed chambers located in the monitoring site. Quantifying the measurement uncertainty of the nitrous oxide concentrations in this study would contribute to improving measurement quality of nitrous oxide fluxes.

광선 추적법에 의한 자동 광검사 장비의 결상 과정 전산모사 (Ray Tracing-based Simulation of Image Formation in an Equipment for Automated Optical Inspection)

  • 자동 광검사 장비의 검사 영상 획득과정을 전산모사하는 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 시뮬레이터는 광선 추적법을 기반으로 조명 광학계, 검사 대상체 및 결상 광학계의 3가지 모듈로 구성하였다. 각 모듈이 갖는 광학적 특성을 실제와 일치시키기 위해, 다양한 물리적 모델과 실측 결과를 반영하여 주요 인자들의 종류와 범위를 결정하였다. 전산모사 결과의 타당성은 논리적인 검증과정과 실험 결과와의 비교를 통해 확인할 수 있었다.
