Survey on CAD Softwares Used in Small Contractors and Improvement to College CAD Education (중소규모 건설회사 CAD 활용현황과 대학교육 방안)

  • A survey of small-size contractors in Jeju was conducted to investigate college graduate's CAD (computer aided design) competence. Most of small-size contractors use CAD softwares to review and update drawings submitted from an architect. This research analyzed the curriculum of the architectural engineering in several national universities. The CAD classes have 4 or 6 hours per week and use AutoCAD primarily. This research proposes that a CAD class needs at least 6 hours per week, 2D drawing is the main theme in the curriculum, and exercises to make 3D models are also included in the CAD class. The improved methods, Internet cafe and real time feedbacks using a smartphone, to evaluate the reports and exercise results are necessary.

A Study on the Automatic Drafting of Basic Slacks Pattern for Young Men (남성복 바지원형의 자동제도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to present the optimum slacks pattern for young men, 2) to develope a methodology to draft basic slacks pattern using AutoCAD The total crotch legth and the shape of the crutch line were determined by anthropometric data analysis. The total crotch length was calculated with the waist girth, the hip girth and the crotch length measurements. The anthropometric data utilized for this procedure was National Anthropometric Survey of Korea, 1992. And multidimensional anthropometric measurements were carried out for 6 male college students between the age of 18 to 24. The subjects were measured with the Martin's anthropometer and the sliding gauge. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were performed for statistical analysis of the data. The automatic drafting method was programmed by AutoLISP in AutoCAD. The automatic drafting was based on the Muller's slacks pattern drafting method, the measurements of slacks construction components and the curve of crotch line. The crotch line was drafted using of the arc function in AutoCAD. The total crotch length was calcuated using the multiple regression equation. The experimental pattern developed to accomodate individual body wleasurements expected to produce customized apparel production in QRS(Quick Response System) production system.

  • 기계부품의 설계공정에 3차원 CAD 시스템이사용되어 널리 보급중에 있으며, 그중에서도 시설설계 의 경우 CAD형상 데이터의 급속입체표현법, 즉 3차원 입체모형에 의한 프로토타입 모델의 표현기술 개발에 관한 연구개발이 현재 세계적으로 널리 진행되고 있다. 이 연구개발의 첫단계는 3차원 CAD 의 형상데이터를 어떻게 처리하여 실제 원하는 형상을 가공해낼 것인가를 해결하는 것으로 3차원 CAD의 변환파일중 한가지안 STI 파일을 이용하여 이것의 해결방법에 대해 논한다. 본 연구에서 사용한 3차원 CAD는 Pro-Engineer이며, 이것을 PC로 down load 받아서 PC 상에서의 형상이입작업은 AutoCAD를 사용하였다.

  • The objective of this study is to optimize the section of RC box culvert and develop a CAD system for drawing. This paper consists of three parts. In the first part, the external load conditions are systematized by using the literatures and specifications. In the second one, the RC box culvert is optimized using the SUMT algorithm. Sizing variables, and steel ratio are taken as design variables, and a cost function as the objective function. The stress and side constraints are derived from the Korea Concrete Specifications for the ultimate strength design. Finally, a data base and CAD system is developed for the drawing of the optimized section of RC box culverts.

Automatic conversion of machining data by the recognition of press mold (프레스 금형의 특징형상 인식에 의한 가공데이터 자동변환)

  • This paper presents an automatic conversion of machining data from the orthographic views of press mold by feature recognition rule. The system includes following 6 modules : separation of views, function support, dimension text recognition, feature recognition, dimension text check and feature processing modules. The characteristic of this system is that with minimum user intervention, it recognizes basic features such as holes, slots, pockets and clamping parts and thus automatically converts CAD drawing details of press mold into machining data using 2D CAD system instead of using an expensive 3D Modeler. The system is developed by using IBM-PC in the environment of AutoCAD R12, AutoLISP and MetaWare High C. Performance of the system is verified as a good interfacing of CAD and CAM when applied to a lot of sample drawings.

  • This paper describes a sweeping path planning algorithm for an autonomous smearing robot on commercial autoCAD system. An automatic planner generates a sweeping path pattern by proposed five basic procedures, (1) interfacing architectural CAD system, (2) off-line obstacle map building, (3) scanning the whole workspace for subgoals of sweeping line, (4) tracking sequence of the subgoals, and (5) obstacle avoiding. A sweeping path is planned by sequentially connecting the tracking points in such a way that (1) the connected line segments should be crossed, (2) the total tracking points should be as short as possible, (3) the tracking line should not pass through the obstacle. Feasibility of the developed techniques has been demonstrated on real architectural CAD draft.

  • 본 논문에서는 맞춤 가구 제작 및 제작된 가구의 배치를 위한 효율적이면서도 사용하기 용이한 3D Visual 디스플레이 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. AutoCAD로 만들어진 평면파일(*.dxf) 그리고 3D 제작툴로 만들어진 오브젝트 파일(*.3ds)을 이용하여 현실감 있도록 시뮬레이션 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 2D로 제작된 AutoCAD 평면 설계 파일을 이용하여 평면 파일을 3D 투시도로 변환하고 3DS파일로 구축한 객체들을 배치한 뒤 텍스처매핑, 렌더링 등을 구현하여 최대한 현실감을 낼 수 있도록 개발한다.

  • Continuous development of Personal Computer(PC) combined with the decrease of price and the expansion of operating system in PC like Windows 95, and Windows N/T makes it possible for the user to consider PC-bas-ed Automated Happing/Facilities Management (AM/FM) system. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to establish a PC-based data automation system of pipe infrastructures-water, sewer, and drainage-and road in Korea Land Corporation. In order to achieve this goal, relevant literature survey was done first. Secondly, the study site was determined by discussion with Korea Land Institute. Thirdly, PC-based CAD software for AM/FM in the world market were surveyed, and AutoCAD Map was selected because KLC had been using hundreds of AutoCAD copies already. After that user needs assessment was done to visit on-site office, local branch office, and the corresponding city office for the system design and database design. After the graphic data were digitized and the attribute data were entered into the batabase, the data automation system was established, and tested for application. Finally, the guidelines and problems for PC-based data automation in AM/FM was discussed.
