여자 중·고등학생의 개인주의-집단주의에 따른 교복태도와 교복선택기준 (Attitude toward Uniform and Evaluation Criteria toward Uniform according to Individualism-collectivism of Middle and High School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify individualism-collectivism into groups and analyze the difference of attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. Questionnaires are being administered to 369 middle and high school girls in Deagu province. The Frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and t-test are used for data analysis. Individualism-collectivism factors are found to be other focus, individuality focus, competition consciousness, love of family, and self-esteem. Attitude toward uniform are categorized into fashion pursuit, symbol of role, conformity, color, and neatness. Evaluation criteria toward uniform is categorized into 7 factors: practicality, care, promotion, aesthetics, service, brand focus, and regulation focus. Individualism-collectivism are classify into three groups such as high individualism-collectivism, low individuality, and high individuality. Individualism-collectivism shows a significant correlation with the sub-variable attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. The groups show a significant difference in the attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. There is a significant difference among individualism-collectivism, attitude toward uniform, and evaluation criteria toward uniform by the middle and high school girls.

청소년의 교복행동과 외모에 대한 태도와의 관련 연구 (A Study Related to Adolescent Students' School Uniform Behavior and Attitude toward Appearance)

  • 본 연구는 2007년 11월에서 12월 중에 전라북도 소재 4개교의 남녀 중 고등학생 898명을 대상으로 설문지법에 의해 교복행동(교복에 대한 태도, 교복만족도, 교복변형)을 알아보고 외모에 대한 태도와의 관련성 등 변인들의 영향력을 파악함으로써 학교현장에 청소년기 의생활 연구의 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. SPSS 11.5 for Windows Program을 이용하여 요인분석, Cronbach's $\alpha$, $x^2$ 검증, t 검증, 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA), Duncan의 다중비교검증, Pearson의 적률상관관계를 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과, 첫째, 교복에 대한 태도는 유행성, 과시성, 관리성, 변형성 4개 요인이 선택되었다. 교복에 대한 태도에서는 여학생이 남학생보다 변형에 대한 태도가 높았으며, 중학생이 교복에 대한 태도 중 유행성이 높았고, 관리성과 변형성에서는 고등학생이 높게 나타났다. 교복착용실태를 살펴보면, 현재 착용하고 있는 교복의 디자인, 색상, 옷감에 대해 전체적으로 만족하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 대부분의 청소년들이 교복변형의 경험을 가지고 있었으며, 남학생 보다는 여학생이 교복 변형 경험이 많았다. 교복변형실태에서 스커트(바지) 길이를 줄인 학생이 가장 많았고, 대부분의 청소년들은 외모를 돋보이기 위해 교복의 길이, 옆선 등 교복을 줄여서 몸에 밀착된 형태로 변형시키고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 교복변형의 가장 중요한 요인으로 '체형보정', '유행', '활동성', '무난함'의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 외모에 대한 차원을 알아보기 위해 요인분석결과, 외모에 대한 동조 가치 욕구 3개 요인이 선택되었다. 여학생이 남학생보다, 고등학생이 중학생에 비하여 욕구 가치 동조 의식이 높게 나타났다. 아버지의 학력이 고졸 이상 일수록 욕구 가치 동조 의식이 높게 나타났으며, 가정의 월수입이 300만원 이상인 학생들이 욕구와 동조 의식이 높게 나타났다. 한 달 용돈을 3만원 이상 받는 학생들이 1만원에서 2만원 이하로 용돈을 받는 학생들보다 외모에 대한 욕구와 가치 의식이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 조사대상 청소년의 교복변형유무에 따른 외모에 대한 태도, 교복에 대한 태도, 교복만족도의 차이에서 교복변형을 경험한 학생일수록 외모를 변화시키고자 하며 매력적인 외모에 가치를 두고 추구하는 태도를 지니고 있었고, 교복변형을 하지 않는 학생들은 교복에 대한 태도 중 유행성, 상징성, 관리성에서 유의하게 높게 평가하였으며, 교복변형을 한 학생들은 변형성만에서 유의하게 높게 평가하였다. 교복에 대한 태도의 하위영역인 유행성은 외모에 대한 태도와 부적 상관관계를 보였고, 변형성은 외모에 대한 태도와 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 현재 착용하고 있는 교복의 디자인, 색상, 옷감에 대한 만족도와 외모에 대한 태도는 부적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 결론적으로 청소년들의 교복행동과 외모에 대한 태도는 관련이 있었으며, 청소년기 외모에 대한 관심은 하루 일과 중 가장 많이 접하는 교복행동 즉, 교복에 대한 태도, 교복만족도, 교복변형으로 이어지고 있었다.

The perception and wearing attitude toward school uniform by group according to clothing attitude - Focusing on high school students -

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze high school students' school uniform wearing attitude by group according to clothing attitude targeting Gyeongnam area. This study aims to provide preliminary data in the field of school uniform and marketing that clothing propensity by groups is considered. This study conducted a survey targeting 762 high school students in Gyeongnam. For statistical analysis, SPSS for Window 14.0 was used for frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple sponse analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA analysis and Duncan's ex-post analysis method. As a result of cluster analysis on the clothing attitude, students were divided into 4 segmentation of fashion seeking group, fashion indifference group, conformity group and modesty group. As a result of verification on the difference in perception toward wearing school uniform by groups which were classified according to the propensity of clothing attitude, activity, stability, and practicality were all varied according to the propensity of clothing attitude. 4 groups were significant differences in the degree of consent to wearing school uniform, price of school uniforms, tendency to prefer famous brand when purchasing school uniform, experience of transforming school uniform, opinion about school uniform modification and reason for school uniform modification. While low graders were many in 'modesty group', upper graders were many in 'fashion seeking group', which means that more segmentalized satisfaction of clothing by group may be raised if such a fact is considered when planning clothing for high school students segmentalized by age.

  • School uniforms are mass produced by large companies and prominent fashion designers. However many high school students modify their uniform or use fashion accessaries to pursue their individualities and their unique style. The objectives of this research were to identify uniform modification and fashion accessory wearing according to the attitudes toward uniform of high school students. The results were as follows; 1. Factors of the attitudes toward school uniform were style and brand, fashion, role intimation, individuality, and neatness. High school students were classified as the uniform indifference group, the pro-uniform group, and the centrist-uniform group according to their attitudes toward uniform. 2. Many students in academic or boys' high schools were classified into the centrist-uniform stoup, and many in art & physical educational or coeducational high schools were classified into the pro-uniform group. The pro-uniform group modified uniform more and stated that the regulation on the fashion accessory wearing was very strict. The uniform indifference group modified uniform less than other groups and complained less about regulation of fashion accessary wearing. 3. Students in art & physical educational high schools showed more positive tendency toward uniform attitudes, uniform modification, and fashion accessary regulation compliances.

대구시 여고생의 교복변형에 대한 태도 분석 (The Analysis of Students' Attitude toward Uniform Transformation of Female Highschool Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 여자 고등학생의 교복변형에 대한 학생의 태도를 분석함으로써 청소년들의 교복변형행동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고, 청소년들에게 만족스러우면서도 유행흐름에 부합하는 교복을 제안할 수 있도록 기여하는데 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생의 교복착용에 대한 태도를 살펴본 결과, 교복착용에 대해서는 찬성하는 것으로 나타났으며, 찬성의 이유로는 또래집단과의 동질성을 들었다. 둘째, 교복만족에 대한 학생의 태도를 분석한 결과 대체로 만족이 불만족보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 디자인에 대한 만족도가 높았다. 셋째, 교복변형경험을 묻는 질문에서 대부분의 학생이 교복변형 경험이 있는 것으로 분석되었으며, 교복 상의의 경우 주로 품과 길이를 줄여 입으며, 하의의 경우 스커트 길이를 늘이고 주름을 뜯어 늘여 입는 것으로 분석되었다. 넷째, 심층면접을 통해 교복변형의 원인을 조사한 결과, 크게 미적욕구 충족을 위한 변형, 유행을 따라가기 위한 변형, 맞음새를 위한 변형, 실용성을 위한 변형으로 분류되었으며, 미적욕구충족을 위해 변형한다는 의견이 가장 많았고, 맞음새를 위한 변형, 유행을 따르기 위한 변형 순으로 나타났다. 교복 디자인시 고려사항으로는 '맞음새'를 가장 많이 선택하였으며, '디자인', '활동성' 순이었다. 이상과 같이 각급 학교에서는 학생의 의견을 교복선정에 적극 활용하여 학생들의 교복변형을 줄이고, 학생뿐 아니라 교사 학부모들도 모두가 만족하는 교복을 만들기 위한 다각적인 노력이 필요하리라 여겨진다.

청소년의 성격특성과 의복욕구에 따른 교복복장규제에 대한 반응 (Response of the Adolescents to the School Uniform Regulations according to Personal Character and Clothing Needs)

  • The response of the adolescents toward school uniform regulations according to personal character and clothing needs was studied. To carry out this experiment, questionnaires were administered to 514 students in middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The collected data were analyzed with Factor analysis(Varimax rotation), Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Frequencies Statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 15.0. By surveying on actual condition of uniform regulation in school, it was found that the existing uniform regulation was unnecessarily strict and caused stress leading a negative educational effect. Based on the relationship among the degree of regulation, stress, and student attitude toward school uniform regulation, stress and negative attitude to uniform regulation increased as the degree of regulation increased, resulting in an decrease in observance behavior of students. Since the stress from the school uniform regulation can be reduced by establishing rational law, which induced voluntary conduct of student to obey, it is important for student to participate in establishment of adoptable and reasonable school uniform regulation law.

여중·고생들의 교복변형행동에 따른 외모에 대한 태도와 신체만족 (Attitudes toward Appearance and Body Satisfaction according to Uniform Modification Behavior of Middle and High School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify students' attitudes towards uniform modification and analyze their subjective experience regarding appearance, and body satisfaction. Questionnaires were administered to 369 middle and high school girls living in Deagu Metropolitan City. Frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, and t-test are all used for data analysis. Our findings are as follows. Two hundred thirty students (62.3%) agreed to modify their school uniforms to express their personalities and follow fashion trends. Motives for uniform modification had to do with social life, physical attractiveness, and practicality. Attitudes toward appearance are found to be shaped by appearance internalization, active management of appearance, appearance needs, social recognition, and conformity. The motives for uniform modification reveal a significant correlation with attitudes toward appearance. Uniform modification satisfaction differed depending on sub-variables of attitude toward appearance(active management of appearance, personalized appearance needs, social recognition, and body satisfaction, such as satisfaction with height and BMI). There was a significant difference in expression of intention for future plastic surgery depending on body image.

청소년의 의복태도와 교복착용에 대한 태도 (Teenager's Attitudes toward Clothing & School Uniform)

  • Teenagers are fast in growth and very sensitive. They are more interested in appearance and clothing and they use it as a method of expressing themselves. Thus they show different attitudes toward clothing. This study is to survey teenagers' attitudes toward clothing, especially school uniform and to understand their psychological characteristics about clothing. The purpose of this study is to provide useful data in designing teenagers' school uniform which can serve to fulfill their clothing desire and beautiful school life. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. As of paradigm in clothing, they value individuality, economical efficiency, practicality, fashion, and conformity of clothes in the order of importance. They considered individuality value the most important. Students' preference of school uniform is not positive over all. About 60% of students support wearing uniform, and 50% like wearing uniform on the way to school. The reasons for wearing school uniform are psychological stability and economical efficiency. They think school uniform is well fitted for the student position and don't have to care about clothing if they wear school uniform. 63% of them prefer wearing famous brand but they think the price is too high. Comparing with male student, female students place more value on latest fashion and are more likely to purchase brand object than male students do. Female students have more experience in modification of school uniform than male students do. Based on the result of this study, we need to understand the students' attitudes toward school uniform and to accept demand of teenagers' idea in production of school uniform.

여고생의 교복디자인 선호에 관한 연구 (A Study on School Uniform Design of High School Girls' Stadents in Gwanju and Mokpo)

  • The main purpose of this study was to give a right and proper direction in high school girls' uniforms through the comparison of the attitude toward school uniforms and free choice of wearing clothings. The samples were consisted of 319 high school girls' students in Gwanju and Mokpo. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage and chi-square test. The finding of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Students prefered to take uniforms than self·control clothes. The greatest reason for the agreement on uniforms is th,It uniforms make sure the identity of the students. The problem in uniform was the disconvenience for activity. 2. Preference for uniform style was semi-fitted double jacket, flat collar blouse, vest and pleated skirt. 3. They make choice of prefering color were green, bluepurple and white, free-choice clothing color were green, light yellow and light blue and uniform color were bluepurple, darkblue and black.

중.고등학생의 의복 동조 성향에 따른 교복 브랜드에 대한 태도와 구매행동 (High School Students' Buying Attitudes toward School Uniform Brands according to Clothing Conformity)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate high school students' buying attitudes toward school uniform brands according to clothing conformity orientation. For this research, a survey was carried out to 418 boy and girl students in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The data analysis of this study was verified by descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability tests, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA with Duncan-test, and ${\chi}^2$-test. The results are as follows. First, high school students preferred and had strong intentions to buy school uniforms of famous leading brands although they were not satisfied with famous brands. Especially, respondents tended to have favorable attitudes toward sophisticated and luxurious designs of famous school uniform brands. Second, respondents who had a conformity to parents tended to follow parents' opinions by purchasing famous brand uniforms. The conformity group of mass media preferred famous brands, and acquired the information about uniforms from various mass media such as television or magazines. A peer conformity group also preferred leading brands. Based on results of this study, curriculum of home education department should consist of contents for inducing rational consumption of uniforms by considering students' inclination of conformity. In terms of marketing perspectives, school uniforms firms need to reinforce strategies to improve products' quality and value for money.
