In the era of 'Untact', virtual reality-based job training platforms are actively being used as part of non-face-to-face education for students with developmental disabilities. Because the people with developmental disabilities may lack sufficient cognitive abilities, it is difficult to conduct untact training seamlessly without the help of a third party. Therefore, it is necessary for training programs to identify the right timing to provide help so that the training can be continued. This research analyzed the visual attention of students with developmental disabilities in virtual reality-based job training program in order to determine the point of time when an intervention is required by the trainee. Results showed that students who completed the mission tended to have intense visual attention on a small number of objects for a certain period of time; the visual attention of the students who failed tended to shift erratically among multiple objects.
This study examined the impact of various product photo features on the attention of potential consumers in online apparel retailers' environment. Recently, the method of apparel's product photo representation in online shopping stores has been changed a lot from the classic product photos in the early days. In order to investigate if this shift is effective in attracting consumers' attention, we examined the related theory and verified its effect through laboratory experiments. In particular, experiment data was collected and analyzed using eye tracking technology. According to the results of this study, it was shown that the product photos with asymmetry are more attractive than symmetrical photos, well emphasized object within a photo more attractive than partially emphasized, smiling faces are more attractive for customer than emotionless and sad, and photos with uncentered models focus more consumer's attention than photos with model in the center. These results are expected to help design internet shopping stores to gaze more customers' attention.
Purpose: This study examined health behaviors, use of health services, and depression among women who perform daytime and shift work in Korea, as well as factors related to depression. Methods: We conducted a secondary analysis using data from the 2018 data of the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Data on women, 1,493 regular daytime workers and 322 shift workers, were analyzed. Results: Women shift workers (χ2=43.97, p<.001), had a lower education level (χ2=45.56, p<.001), and lower personal income (χ2=16.85, p=.030) than their daytime counterparts. A higher proportion of shift workers were unmarried (χ2=37.47, p<.001) and they typically worked fewer than 40 hours per week (χ2=69.94, p<.001). The depression score of shift workers was higher than that of daytime workers (t=2.85, p=.005). A higher proportion of shift workers also drank alcohol (χ2=6.49, p=.032) and smoked (χ2=30.79, p<.001). Over 8% of shift workers typically slept fewer than 5 hours per night (χ2=14.17, p=.024). It was confirmed that depression in women shift workers was affected by age, personal income, marital status, health status, and smoking status, in addition to cancer screening participation, unmet medical care needs, and unmet dental care needs. Conclusion: More attention should be given to the health needs of women working shifts. Health promotion programs specific for women shift workers are needed to improve their physical and mental health, encourage use of medical care services, and improve public health policies and systems.
This study aimed to examine the effects of a reciprocal attention intervention on the joint attention behaviors of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by comparing the music and nonmusic conditions. An alternating treatment design was applied as one of the single subject designs and the reciprocal attention intervention included music and nonmusic conditions implemented alternately within a session. The participants were four children between the ages 4 and 5 years and each participant who participated in 23 intervention sessions that followed the sequence of baseline (3 sessions), treatment (15 sessions), and follow-up (5 sessions). The music condition consisted of structured joint instrument playing, trials for attentional shift, and interactive instrument playing. The nonmusic condition consisted of joint toy play, trials for attentional shift, and turn taking-based play. The occurrence of target behaviors (i. e., joint attention behavior, eye gaze, and joint action) was analyzed across sessions. At pretest and posttest, the Early Social Communication Scale was administered. All participants showed increasing tendency in all target behaviors, but such occurrence was greater in the music condition than in the nonmusic condition. The findings support the use of a reciprocal attention intervention with musical stimuli to effectively improve joint attention in this population.

Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have attracted much attention because of various advantages such as cost-effectiveness of synthesis, low toxicity, and photostability. The origins of photoluminescence (PL) in GQDs were suggested as the intrinsic states for localized sp2 carbon domains and the extrinsic states formed by oxygen-functional groups.[1,2] Nevertheless, it is still unclear to understand the information of electric band structure in GQD. Here, we observed excitation energy induced S-shaped PL behavior. The PL peak energy position shows an S-shaped shift (redshift-blueshift-redshift) as function of the excitation wavelengths. From various samples, we only observed S-shaped PL shift in the GQDs with both luminescent origins of intrinsic and extrinsic states. Therefore, this S-shaped PL shift is related to different weight of intrinsic and extrinsic states in PL spectrum depending on the excitation wavelengths. This would be the key result to understand the electric band structure of the GQDs and its derivatives.
With the advent of the 6th and the 7th national educational curricula in Korea. English language teaching in communicative perspective has been highly recommended and widely practised in that context. The aim of new approach is to enhance the students' general communication abilities in English. However, English teachers still find it very hard to improve the students' communicative competence in English since English remains to be taught as a school subject. In so far as English is taught as a school subject, students' attention is paid to the formal elements of English and the increase in communicative competence in English is hardly expected Only when the students' attention is paid to the content, their communicative competence is expected to increase. The best way to shift the students' attention from formal elements to content is to teach other school subjects in English, that is, English immersion education. To introduce immersion education to Korea, the two most successful examples of Singapore and Hong Kong are reviewed in terms of language policies and general practices in their primary and secondary schools respectively. To implement the program into Korea, extensive research on it is expected henceforth.
In this paper, we propose a dual-structured self-attention method that improves the lack of regional features of the vision transformer's self-attention. Vision Transformers, which are more computationally efficient than convolutional neural networks in object classification, object segmentation, and video image recognition, lack the ability to extract regional features relatively. To solve this problem, many studies are conducted based on Windows or Shift Windows, but these methods weaken the advantages of self-attention-based transformers by increasing computational complexity using multiple levels of encoders. This paper proposes a dual-structure self-attention using self-attention and neighborhood network to improve locality inductive bias compared to the existing method. The neighborhood network for extracting local context information provides a much simpler computational complexity than the window structure. CIFAR-10 and CIFAR-100 were used to compare the performance of the proposed dual-structure self-attention transformer and the existing transformer, and the experiment showed improvements of 0.63% and 1.57% in Top-1 accuracy, respectively.

Shift workers experience a disruption in the circadian sleep-wake rhythm, which brings upon adverse health effects such as fatigue, insomnia and decreased sleep quality. Moreover, shift work has deleterious effects on both work productivity and safety. In this review, we present a brief overview of the current literature on the consequences of shift work, especially focusing on attention-associated cognitive decline and related behavioral changes. We searched two electronic databases, PubMed and RISS, using key search terms related to cognitive domains, deleterious effects, and shift work. Twenty studies were eligible for the final review. The consequences of shift work can be classified into the following three categories extracted from the literature review : 1) work accidents ; 2) commuting accidents such as car accidents that occur on the way to and from work ; and 3) attendance management at work (i.e., absenteeism, tardiness, and unscheduled early departure). These cognitive and behavioral consequences of shift work were also found to be associated with sleep disorders in shift workers. Thus, improvements in the shift work system are necessary in order to enhance workers' health conditions, work productivity, and safety.
Purpose: We analysed the clinical efficacy of inferior capsular shift operation in multidirectional instability of the shoulder joint in terms of functional aspects and patient's satisfaction Materials and Methods: From July, 1998 to March, 2000, we treated 23 cases of multidirectional instability of the shoulder joint with T-shaped inferior capsular shift and/or Bankart repair. All of them have complained of an experience about frank dislocations. Two of them has a voluntary component. We evaluated them according to complication, function, range of motion, stability and patient's satisfaction with an average follow-up of 15 months(the range of 9 to 27 months). Results: Eight cases were atraumatic multidirectional instability and coexisting Bankart lesion were present in 15. There was no redislocation, but one case of symptomatic subluxation, 3 cases of transient nerve palsy and 2 cases of feeling of laxity developed. Limitation of motion after surgery was an average of 3.4° in flexion, and 8.5° in external rotation. With Rowe scoring system, the clinical result was excellent or good in 22 cases and poor in one. According to American shoulder and elbow society, pain score improved to 1.4 from 6.1, and stability score also improved to 1.8 from 9.1. Conclusion: In multidirectional shoulder instability, one should pay attention to finding a coexisting Bankart lesion. In that case, adequate capsular volume reduction by using inferior capsular shift as well as repair of Bankart lesion is needed to get a good surgical outcome.
