  • This study analyzed the difficulties of middle school students in computer simulation of the law of large numbers through eye movement analysis. Some students did not attend to the simulation results and could not make meaningful inferences. It is observed that students keep the existing concept even though they observe the simulation results which are inconsistent with the misconceptions they have. Since probabilistic intuition influence student's thinking very strongly, it is necessary to design a task that allows students to clearly recognize the difference between their erroneous intuitions and simulation results. In addition, we could confirm through eye movements analysis that students could not make meaningful observations and inferences if too much reasoning was needed even though the simulation included a rich context. It is necessary to use visual representations such as graphs to provide immediate feedback to students, to encourage students to attend to the results in a certain intentional way to discover the underlying mathematical structure rather than simply presenting experimental data. Some students focused their attention on the visually salient feature of the experimental results and have made incorrect conclusion. The simulation should be designed so that the patterns of the experimental results that the student must discover are not visually distorted and allow the students to perform a sufficient number of simulations. Based on the results of this study, we suggested that cumulative relative frequency graph showing multiple results at the same time, and the term 'generally tends to get closer' should be used in learning of the law of large numbers. In addition, it was confirmed that eye-tracking method is a useful tool for analyzing interaction in technology-based probabilistic learning.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors effecting the psychological well-being of adolescents who attend a community child center. Methods: The survey was conducted on 143 children attending a community child center in P city with a structured self-report questionnaire from August 20 to September 20, 2016. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression, using SPSS/WIN version 18.0. Results: There were significant differences in psychological well-being according to grade, one of the general characteristics of the subjects. There was a significant positive correlation between ego-resilience, social support, subjective well-being, and psychological well-being. From the multiple regression analysis, the most significant factors affecting psychological well-being were subjective well-being (${\beta}=.56$) and grade division (${\beta}=.19$). These variables explained 38.0% of the total variance in psychological well-being. Conclusion: Considering the results of this study, it is desirable to develop measures to increase adolescents' subjective well-being and provide support according to grade in order to improve the psychological well-being of the adolescents attending community children centers.

  • Cluster system provides attractive scalability in terms of compution power and memory size. With the advances in high speed computer network technology, cluster systems are becoming increasingly competitive compared to expensive MPPs (massively parallel processors). Load balancing is very important issue since an inappropriate scheduling of tasks cannot exploit the true potential of the system and can offset the gain from parallelization. In parallel processing program, it is difficult to predict the load of each task before running the program. Furthermore, tasks are interdependent each other in many ways. The dynamic load balancing algorithm, which evaluates each processor's load in runtime, partitions each task into the appropriate granularity and assigns them to processors in proportion to their performance in cluster systems. However, if the communication cost between processing nodes is expensive, it is not efficient for all nodes to attend load balancing process. In this paper, we restrict a processor that attend load balancing by the communication cost and the deviation of its load from the average. We simulate various models of the cluster system with parameters such as communication cost, node number, and range of workload value to compare existing load balancing methods with the proposed dynamic algorithms.

  • Laboratory medicine is a specialized division that supports physicians in the care of patients by providing rapid and accurate in vitro diagnostic tests. Standardization of every component of a specific test is essential for producing accurate results. The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) was founded to develop a formal consensus process for standardization in 1968, and has been publishing standards and guidelines covering all aspects of clinical, research, and other laboratory work. CLSI guidelines are widely used around the world for standardization. The CLSI antimicrobial susceptibility testing subcommittee (AST SC) consists of 6 standing and many ad hoc working groups. Members of the AST SC review submitted proposals and suggestions, decide on approving these submissions in face-to-face meetings held twice a year, and revise CLSI documents accordingly. As these face-to-face meetings are open to anyone who registers to attend, I strongly encourage the members of our Society to attend and actively participate in document development.

  • This study investigated the prospective teacher's noticing of students' mathematical thinking from the perspective of how the prospective teacher pays attention to, interprets, and responds to the student's responses related to variables. The prospective teachers were asked to infer the students' thinking from the variables related to the tasks and suggest feedback accordingly. An analysis of the responses of 26 prospective teachers showed that it was not easy for prospective teachers to pay attention to the misconception of variables and that some of them did not make proper interpretations. Most prospective teachers who did not attend and interpret were found to have failed to provide an appropriate response due to a lack of overall understanding of variables. even though prospective teachers who did proper attend and interpret were found to have failed to respond appropriately due to a lack of empirical knowledge, even with proper attention and interpretation.

  • This study presents the Family FIRO model for stepfamily development. The Family FIRO model conceptualizes interactional patterns in stepfamily for dealing with developmental tasks and suggests a method for organizing assessment and for prioritizing treatment strategies. Boundary ambiguity role confusion intergenerational coalition and loyalty conflict lack of relationship commitment and resource management issues of stepfamily constitute the inclusion interaction dimension in The Family FIRO model. While power role negotiation conflict decision making and discipline issues represent the control interaction dimension lack of emotional exchange and open self-disclosure issues are intimacy interaction dimension in the stepfamily. The family FIRO model suggests that stepfamily should attend to the developmental tasks related to inclusion before placing a major emphasis on control issues which in turn should come before emphasis on stepfamily intimacy.

  • When people stands near someone's mobile device, it can easily be seen by others. To rephrase this, attackers use human psychology to earn personal information or credit information or other. People are exposed by social engineering attacks. It is certain that we need more than just recommendation for the security to avoid social engineering attacks. This is why I proposed this paper. In this paper, I proposed an authentication technique using NFC and Hash function to stand against social engineering attack. Proposed technique result is showing that it could prevent shoulder surfing, touch event information, spyware attack using screen capture and smudge attack which relies on detecting the oily smudges left behind by user's fingers. Besides smart phone, IPad, Galaxy tab, Galaxy note and more mobile devices has released and releasing. And also, these mobile devices usage rate is increasing widely. We need to attend these matters and study in depth.

  • The reasons to attend Alternative Schools are : to compensate for the discontent over what is locally taught in state schools and to improve the students' satisfaction and social emotional development. In 2006, it was estimated that about a thousand Home Schools were set up. With the studies of Alternative Education and Home Schooling, the issues are : 1) the depth study of curriculum of Alternative Education with a wide range of subjects, 2) the institutionalization of Home Schooling, 3) educational methods for Home Schooling, 4) a research on Home Schooling's effectiveness. Their practical and political issues are : 1) to give the licence to the rest of schools and to formulate Education Law on Home Schooling, 2) to obtain government's financial support to the both sections, 3) to support a system of instructional contents and methods of Home Schooling, and 4) to select, share and popularize the best practices of Home Schooling.
